Abstract

One of the causes of infection was bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus. Torch ginger has been widely used to treat dwaseases caused by bacteria. Torch ginger has been studied to have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The purpose of thwas study was to formulate an ointment preparation of ethanol extract of torch ginger and to see if the ointment preparations had antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The research method used in thwas research was experimental True, covering the stages: making of ethanol extract of kecombrang flower with maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent, ointment formulation made with ointment base: vaseline, adeps lanae, and propylene glycol. Made in three concentrations of extracts namely: F I with 100 mg, F II with 200 mg, and F III with 300 mg. Furthermore, the evaluation of the preparation of evaluation of physical stability and homogeneity, and test of antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria with diffusion method to use Kirby odor dwasc paper. The results showed that the ointment had good physical stability and homogeneity for 30 days of storage at room temperature. The antibacterial activity test of the ointment shows that the inhibitory diameter F I has an average of 16.45 mm, F II has an average of 18.60 mm and F III has an average of 21.12 mm. Based on the results obtained it can be concluded that the preparation of the ethanol extract of torch ginger has an inhibitory power to Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. In the next research was expected to pay attention to the growing area of ​​torch ginger and to compare the antibacterial activity between petal flowers and flower seeds using Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Abstract

Porang (Amorphallus muelleri Blume) is one type of tuber plant that has the potential to be developed in Indonesia. Porang plants have been reported to contain chemical compounds that have antioxidant activity. This research was conducted on the leaves of the porang plant with the aim of knowing the antioxidant activity, characterization, and phytochemical profile of the compounds contained therein. Compound identification and characterization were performed using standard methods, and antioxidant activity was determined using the DPPH (1,1- Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl ) method. The results of the identification of chemical compounds showed that the ethanol extract of porang leaves contained chemical compounds of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and steroids. The results of the examination of the simplicia characterization of porang leaves included the soluble ethanol content of 33.93%, the water soluble extract content of 17.3%, the ash content of 5.58%, the acid insoluble ash content of 0.235% and the water content of 8%. From the results of the simplicia characterization, it shows that the results meet the specified requirements. The results showed that the ethanol extract of porang leaves had antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 93.04 µg/mL, which in this case is included in the category of strong antioxidant activity. Meanwhile, as a comparison, Vitamin C was used, which has an IC50 value of µg/mL, which is included in the category of very strong antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Sodium benzoate is one of the preservatives allowed in food and beverages. The objective of this research was to determine the level of sodium benzoate found in spicy soy sauce. Qualitative tests are first carried out on samples with the Thin Layer Chromatography (KLT) method, and quantitative tests are carried out using the spectrophotometry Uv-Vis method to determine the preservative level of sodium benzoate. Qualitative tests on KLT plates were carried out by optimising eluents (N-Butanol: Ethyl Acetate: Ammonia, Methanol: Ethyl Acetate: Ammonia, and Isopropanol: Ammonia), where the results of the three eluents showed that the Isopropanol: Ammonia eluents had Rf values from three samples that were close to each other with the comparison Rf values. The results of quantitative analysis on spectrophotometry Uv-Vis showed the total levels of Spicy Soy Sauce A 264.16±12.3206 mcg/g, Spicy Soy Sauce B 317.8±21.8643 mcg/g and Spicy Soy Sauce C 110.2±23.5356 mcg/g. Based on these results, it can be concluded that sodium benzoate levels in samples A, B, and C meet the requirements of the maximum usage limit standard, which is not more than 600 mg/kg.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata sudah dilaksanakan di Desa Namo Tualang, Kecamatan Sibiru-biru, Kabupaten Deli Serdang Sumatera Utara pada tanggal 15 Juli sampai dengan 3 Agustus 2024. Tujuan utama dilakukannya KKN di desa ini dikarenakan potensi desa tersebut yang melimpah guna meningkatkan kualitas Sumber Daya Alam (SDA) dan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) berperan dalam mengembangkan dan mengembangkan potensi desa melalui pelaksanaan KKN. Hasil dari program KKN secara keseluruhan termasuk peningkatan keterampilan masyarakat. dalam mengolah SDA yang tidak terpakai menjadi produk yang sangat bermanfaat bagi warga desa, membuat metode pembelajaran yang menarik di sekolah juga sosialisasi kesehatan.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) yang berlangsung selama 21 hari yaitu mulai dari tanggal 15 Juli sampai 03 Agustus, Adapun terdapat beberapa program kerja yang dilakukan mahasiswa Universitas Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah di SD Negeri 101812 Desa Namo Tualang diantaranya penyuluhan dan edukasi vit c, sosialisasi anti bullying, kegiatan P5, dan meningkatkan kreativitas pada anak melalui pembuatan kolase dari biji bijian pada siswa yg kurang memiliki minat belajar guna melatih motorik anak serta membantu wawasan anak dengan belajar sambil bermain. Abstract

With the increasing growth of food and beverages in Indonesia, there has been an increase in the manufacture of soft drinks that use the preservative sodium benzoate, particularly in syrup. The concentration of sodium benzoate in beverages should be monitored, because excessive consumption can emerge various health problems. To obtain maximum analysis results, mobile phase optimization is first carried out, which aims to obtain the optimal type of eluent from several types of mobile phase, then proceed with adjusting the sodium benzoate content in the orange-flavored syrup using the HPLC method to establish whether it fits the standards in line with the BPOM Regulation No. 11 of 2019. After optimizing the mobile phase, the most optimal mobile phase is Methanol Pro HPLC: Aquabidestilata (70:30), because in this comparison the chromatogram gives the best result the peak shape is symmetrical, tailing factor is less than 2 and the retention time is less than 10 minutesBased on the findings of the third sample research, the sodium benzoate content in orange-flavored syrup meets the requirements of BPOM Regulation No. 11 of 2019, namely 600 mg/kg.

Abstract

Handbody lotion merupakan produk kosmetik yang diterapkan secara menyeluruh di seluruh tubuh, dengan tujuan memberikan efek pemutihan pada kulit, sehingga warnanya menjadi lebih cerah. Hidrokuinon adalah zat aktif yang memiliki kemampuan untuk mengontrol produksi pigmen, sehingga berperan dalam mengurangi atau menghambat pembentukan melanin pada kulit. Asam retinoat termasuk dalam bentuk aktif dari retinol (vitamin a), yang kini banyak diaplikasikan untuk menangani kerusakan kulit akibat paparan sinar matahari serta untuk keperluan pemutihan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa kadar hidrokuinon dan asam retinoat pada handbody lotion apakah memenuhi persyaratan secara spektrofotometri uv dengan metode dual wavelength. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eskperimental. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 4 handbody lotion dengan merk dagang yang berbeda yang dibeli melalui online dan diberikan inisial sampel A,B,C,D. Analisis kadar hidrokuinon dan asam retinoat dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan mengaplikasikan uji reaksi warna dan secara kuantitatif dengan mengaplikasikan spektrofotometri uv menggunakan teknik dual wavelength. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kadar hidrokuinon yang terdapat dalam berbagai sampel diantaranya Sampel A 2,398%, Sampel B 1,131%, Sampel C 2,531%, Sampel D 2,505%. Sedangkan kadar asam retinoat yang diperoleh pada Sampel A 0,258%, Sampel B 0,134%, Sampel C 0,134%, Sampel D 0,176%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuanUntuk m engetahui senyawa metabolit sekunder dalam ekstrak etanol getah batang pisang ambon dan mengetahui dosis efektif yang memberikan efek antiinflamasi dari ekstrak etanol getah batang pisang ambon yang diinduksi karagenan. Salah satu kelompok fenolik utama dari senyawa alami yang ditemukan pada tumbuhan hijau adalah flavonoid. Flavonoid yang mengandung sistem aromatik terkonjugasi dapat diidentifikasi pada kisaran panjang gelombang kuat pada bagian spektrum UV dan Visible, yang dapat diukur dengan spektrofotometri UV-Vis dengan reagen pembentuk kompleks metode kolorimetri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental karena menyelidiki ada atau tidaknya hubungan sebab akibat dari suatu fenomena yang dikaji secara kuantitaif dan kualitatif . Penelitian ini meliputi penetapan kadar flavonoid total dengan larutan induk baku kuersetin, pengujian antiinflamasi dengan membagi hewan uji yang telah diinduksi dengan karagenan menjadi lima kelompok berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak etanol getah batang pisang ambon positif mengandung flavonoid. Hasil Ekstrak, dan kadar ekstrak etanol getah batang pisang ambon konsentrasi 96% adalah 23,64 ±0,907567019 mgQE/g dan kelompok hewan yang diberi EEGBPA dosis 18mg/kgBB, 36mg/kgBB, 72mg/kgBB dan natrium diklofenak , memiliki puncak tertinggi efek inflamasi pada menit ke 240 dengan persen radang sebesar EEGBPA dosis 18mg/kgBB sebesar 57,49%, dosis 36mg/kgBB sebesar 46,25% pada menit ke 180, dosis 72mg/kgBB sebesar 42,2% pada menit ke 300 , Natrium Diklofenak dosis 4,5 mg/kgBB sebesar 29,15%.

Abstract

The use of herbal medicine has been increasing, which encourages researchers to use herbal materials as an alternative antibacterial, one of which is the kaffir lime leaf plant. This study was to identify the group of secondary metabolite compounds and examine the antibacterial properties of ethanol extract of kaffir lime leaves (Citrus hystrix DC) against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. This study began with the preparation of simplisia powder, extracting kaffir lime leaf with ethanol, and the antibacterial activity test of extracts. The results of the study showed that the secondary metabolites contained in kaffir lime leaves are alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids and glycosides. Antibacterial activity test on Staphylococcus aureus bacteria showed that the ethanol extract of kaffir lime leaves with the best concentration inhibited the bacterial inhibition zone at a concentration of 10% with an inhibition diameter of 22.21 mm with a very strong category dan the best concentration is 10% with an inhibition diameter of 20.48 mm with a very strong category for Escherichia coli bacteria. Ethanol extract of Kaffir Lime leaves has been proven to inhibit Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria.

Abstract

Nutmeg leaves (Myristica fragrans) have been known as a traditional medicinal plant with properties as a pain reliever, anti-inflammatory, digestive and respiratory smoothener, and antibacterial. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, and ethyl acetate fraction of nutmeg leaves against Shigella dysenteriae and Streptococcus pyogenes. Ethanol extract of nutmeg leaves was made by maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent and fractionated using n-hexane and ethyl acetate solvents. Antibacterial activity test against Shigella dysenteriae and Streptococcus pyogenes was carried out using the agar diffusion method. The results showed that the ethyl acetate fraction of nutmeg leaf extract produced a larger inhibition zone diameter compared to the n-hexane fraction of nutmeg leaf extract, which was 16.6 mm at a concentration of 50% for Shigella dysenteriae bacteria and 18.1 mm at a concentration of 50% for Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria, which was classified as moderate. Based on this study, the ethyl acetate fraction of nutmeg leaf extract had the best antibacterial activity against Shigella dysenteriae and Streptococcus pyogenes.
