Abstract

Abstarct: This research purpose of know about the meanings of the verb agaru contained in Japanese sentence. This research was conducted because there are many errors in using vocabulary in Japanese. For example vocabulary included in polysemy category. In this research obtained from imagazine. The method are use in this research is note taking method. In the study, the analysis that used was translational equivalence method. The determinant tool for this method is a Indonesian language.Key Words : verb, polysemy, equivalent

Abstract

Abstract : The purpose of this research is to describe how cross cultural understanding concept based of JF Standard on Japanese text book Marugoto A1: Activity and how to apply it in class activity. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with qualitative content analysis as method. The main data source is the textbook of Marugoto A1: Activity. The analysis was done by analyzing the teaching material using interactive data analysis technique. The analysis result show that activities containing the concept of cross-cultural understanding based on JF Standards is Japanese culture are presented in learning materials while other cultures are presented in class activities where students are asked to related Japanese Culture that they have learned and understood with students cultures. Marugoto also prioritizes receptive, productive and interactive systems in learning Japanese Language based on JF Standard through Can-do points that must be achieved in class activities.Key Words: Textbook Analysis; JF Standard; Cross-cultural Understanding

Abstract

Abstract: This study will discus about the meaning and using of the modal auxilarry –mai. This research were taken from a book titled chuujyoukyuu nihongo hatsugen bunkei and www.kotonoha.gr.jp/shonagon/. The method that were used is descriptive method based on the thoery about epistemic and intentional modality. The data were analyzed using replacement technique. From the result of the analysis, it is conclude that –mai could express a negative decision and negative prediction. Base on that, the modal auxillary –mai could be clssified into epistemic and intensional modality.Keywords: Epistemic Modality, Intensional Modality,Prediction.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study analyzes about the use of keigo in the concept of uchi-soto appearing on Japanese drama titled conversation Kaseifu No Mita by Kazuhiko Yukawa, which aims to identify and understand more about the situation and use keigo based on the concept of uchi-soto in daily conversation so that no more errors in use it in daily conversation, especially for Japanese learners at the University of Riau.The methodsthat are used in this research is descriptive and data analysis. In analyzing the data, the writer analyzes the use Keigo based uchi-soto situation of the conversation. This study shows that the results of the Japanese people differentiate the attitudes because of awareness of the acts, behave and conduct limitation that committed by a person towards his/her partner  in a conversation by adjusting kinds of language / Japanese politeness level (keigo). Keywords:analysis, sosioliguistic, keigo, concepts, uchi-soto.

Abstract

Abstract: Shuujoshi is particle that show narrator attitude with respect to the associate narrator and event. Shuujoshi gives important role to make conversation become simply natural. Shuujoshi is type of fundamental language expression that are used in human daily activity. This circumstance had made it become interesting in translating process and unique as well. The objective of this research was to describe the translation of ending particle (shuujoshi) from japanese to indonesian language from doraemon comic in japanese language and its translation.The result showed that : 1. There were some of few words that can't be translated according to Shuujoshi translation. 2.The shuujoshi can’t be translated, mean of equivalent can be reached because expression of source language can be used in to target language, but a few word can’t be translated. 3. Shuujoshi translation be related with context of story.Keyword: translation, shuujoshi, eqiuvalent

Abstract: The background of writen this research is the mistake of using particle lokatif ni, de, he dan wo at thrird grade university student japanese language education. Function similtary of particle located ni, de, he dan wo often student japanese language make mistake in it applicated. Research was done to get the error higest frequency particles and cause error usage particles.The purpose of this research to get result of knowledge for particle lokatif. The method that use in research is error analysis method language. The result of research with the highest frequency of errors occured in de particles, with stative location marker function.Key words: Error Analysis, Particle, Locative.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to describe the refusal speech act of love, the current situation and the politeness when the refusal speech act of love happened. The subject of this research is 5 Ji Kara 9 Ji Made drama created by Miki Aihara in 2015. This is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach that use SPEAKING theory from Dell Hymes. After that, it is connected by politeness principle theory by Lecch, the face threatening theory and the politeness strategies by Brown and Levinson. In the result, we discovered that there were some kinds of the refusal of love with various levels of politeness were used. The violation of politeness principle, the maxims in the face threatening act and politeness strategies that done had relevance to the situation happened when the speech event. There were two kinds of refusal speech act of love in the 5 Ji Kara 9 Ji Made drama. They were the reason of refusal the love and the request that are not approachable.Keywords: The refusal speech act of love, politeness, facethreatening acts, politeness strategies

Abstract

Abstarct: This study described the types and abbreviation processes of Japanese loanwords (gairaigo). The background of this study is the origin form of the loanwords (gairaigo) that has shortened by Japanese people are difficult to understand for foreigners. The shortened loanwords (gairaigo) in the sentences of online data corpus Kotonoha (http://www.kotonoha.gr.jp) was chosen as the data of this study. The theory used in this study are the types of abbreviation theory by Kridalaksana (2007) and abbreviation processes of Japanese loanwords (gairaigo) by using theory of Labrune (2002) with qualitative descriptive approach. The result of this research are (1) found three types of Japanese loanwords (gairaigo) abbreviation, which is: clipping, acronym, and contraction (2) abbreviation processes of Japanese loanwords (gairaigo), clipping have eight abbreviation processes, acronym have two abbreviation processes, and contraction have one abbreviation process. The shortened word in the clipping form are mostly found because this type is more diverse than the other shortening types.Key Words: loanwords, abbreviation, clipping, acronym, contraction

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the effectivenes of cooperative learning model type Time Token Arend for student’s speaking ability in Kaiwa IV Course. In this study, Kaiwa 4 Course was learned with Japanese Foundation (JF) Standard Learning Design. One of the difficulties that student had during Kaiwa 4 learning process was lack of motivation due to monotonous learning situation. Therefore, Time Token Arends method was applied to create a varied and creative learning atmosphere. This study is a weak experimental research with one group pretest posttest design. The object of this study was the students 2017/2018 class A of Japan Study Program in Faculty Teachers Training in Education at Riau University. The sampling technique that used in this study was Purposive Sampling Technique. Based on the result of the study, there is an improvement after the students get treatment with Time Token Arend Method. The students become more excited during Kaiwa IV learning process. Futhermore, vocabulary that used by students during speaking was more varied. Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to find outthe communication strategies which Japanese learner’s use in face-to-face interactions with native speaker of Japanese. This research also aims to find out how native speaker to respond communication strategies use by the Japanese learner’s. The research objects were fifteen of Japanese education study program students in the sixth semester at University of Riau. This research used qualitative and analytical approach combined with quantitative analysis to count the frequency of communication strategies employed by the students. Research data (visual) were collected by recording the interview by students and native speaker.The latest taxonomy of communication strategies designed by Dörnyei (1995) were used to analyze the data. The result showed that students use three three types of communication strategies, namely achievement strategies, stalling or time-gaining strategies, and topic avoidance strategies. This research could be the basis for futher studies involving more subjects to ensure the generalizability of the results.Key Words: communication strategies, Japanese learner, achievement strategies
