Abstract

Abstarct: This study described the types and abbreviation processes of Japanese loanwords (gairaigo). The background of this study is the origin form of the loanwords (gairaigo) that has shortened by Japanese people are difficult to understand for foreigners. The shortened loanwords (gairaigo) in the sentences of online data corpus Kotonoha (http://www.kotonoha.gr.jp) was chosen as the data of this study. The theory used in this study are the types of abbreviation theory by Kridalaksana (2007) and abbreviation processes of Japanese loanwords (gairaigo) by using theory of Labrune (2002) with qualitative descriptive approach. The result of this research are (1) found three types of Japanese loanwords (gairaigo) abbreviation, which is: clipping, acronym, and contraction (2) abbreviation processes of Japanese loanwords (gairaigo), clipping have eight abbreviation processes, acronym have two abbreviation processes, and contraction have one abbreviation process. The shortened word in the clipping form are mostly found because this type is more diverse than the other shortening types.Key Words: loanwords, abbreviation, clipping, acronym, contraction

Abstract

Abstract : The study described the meaning of metaphor of ushi ‘cow’ in cognitive semantic approach. The pupose of this study is to explains the meaning of ushi that used in Japanese proverbs. Descriptive qualitative reserch with intralingual method is applied to this research. The data collected from online dictionaries, journal, and books related to proverbs that contain the word ushi ‘cow’. It has been found that the cow is used to imaged things that are big, stupid, simple, slow and stratified society from the lower class.Key word : Semantic cognitive, metaphor, ushi ‘cow’

Abstract

Abstract: This research discusses about the errors of using Wa and Ga particle carried out by third grade student japanese education program FKIP Riau University Academic Year 2017/2018. The purpose of this research was to find out and describe the errors in the use of wa and ga particle on what functions were most often performed by students and how students understood the use of wa and ga particle in Japanese sentences. This research is descriptive qualitative, to obtain data, the instrument used in this research is a written test. The object of this research is third grade student japanese education program FKIP Riau University Academic Year 2017/2018 who have passed the bunpou 4 courses which are 32 students. Based on the results of the test, students made more mistakes in the use of wa particle than ga particle. Student errors in the use of wa particle occur mostly in functions to show a thing that contrasts/contradicts what is said behind it (100%) and functions as a topic marker in negative sentences (90,6%). Student errors in the use of ga particle occur mostly in functions to affirm the subject (90,6%) and function to show the subject of intransitive verbs (84,3%).Key Words: Error analysis, Wa and Ga particle

Abstract

Abstract:This research aimed at finding out variation of word form of ganbare expression which is used by Japanese society. The subject in this research was ganbare expression used in Japanese conversation sentences from Japanese dramas called Ichi Rittoru No Namida and Nihonjin No Shiranai Nihongo.The method of this research is literature method and descriptive method.The result shows that in social factor, the ganbare expressionis used from various professions. The ganbare expression used by people around adolescent to adult, when the listener around adolescent to elder. The ganbare expressioncan be used by male or female. Next in situation factor, the ganbare expression often appears in informal conversation.Keywords: Ganbare, Form, Social Factor, Situation Factor

Abstract

Abstract: This study explains about the relationship of usage of final-sentence particle or shuujoshi yo on the imperative and negative imperative sentence in Japanese language and politeness strategy. The purpose of the research is to describe the use of sentence final-particle yo as a politeness strategy in Face Threatening Act (FTA). The data are imperative and negative imperative sentences that was collected from several dialogue in Japanese drama entitled Wakamonotachi. Theory of function and the use of sentence final-particle yo from Masuoka (1991) and Face Threatening Act (FTA)‟s theory and politeness strategy from Brown & Levinson (1987) are applied to analysis with qualitative descriptive approach. It has been found that sentence final-particle yo can be used on imperative and negative imperative sentence to avoid Face Threatening Act (FTA). The final-sentence can also be used to express the speaker‟s attitude to the listener that described politeness strategy.Key Words: Shuujoshi, final-sentence particle, imperative, Face Threatening Act (FTA), politeness strategy

Abstract

Abstract:This study discusses the translation of announcement board texts at public facilities in Japan by VI semester students of Japanese language education FKIP Riau University and the form and equivalence of studenttranslations in translating the announcement board text.This research is a qualitative descriptive study using the theory of Alwi et al. about modality, Nitta's theory of imperative tenses, and Nida on the equivalence of translation.When viewed from theform and equivalent in the text of the announcement board at a public facility in Japan,then there will be found several types of forms and equivalents in translating the notice board text at public facilities in Japan.This study aims to explain how theform of student translation and the equivalence of the source text with the results of student translations using qualitative methods.This makes it easy for students to translate imperative tenses in Japanese.The method used is the translational equivalent method to find the equivalent of Japanese sentence data into Indonesian.from the results of the study there were 300 results of the translation of students in translating the text of the announcement board at a public facility in Japan.From the results of the student's translation, the discovery of various forms used by students in translating the text papa announcement at public facilities in Japan.KeyWords: Imperative Sentences, Announcement Board Text, Modalities And Equivalents

ABSTRACTThis study aims to describe and test whether the media story pictures to enhanceunderstanding of the flow of conversation Kaiwa the second semester students (2012-2013)Japanese Language Study Program University of Riau. Learners numbering 42 people (21groups). The results of this study explains that: first, understanding the flow of conversationKaiwa can be improved by using a media story pictures. Before the use of the media, somelearners (respondent) scored below the standard. Secondly, the learners interested andmotivated. It can be seen from the test results. Abstract

Abstract: This research discusses about postposition ‘ni’ in Japanese and its’ equivalent in Indonesian. The purpose of This research was to describe postposition ‘ni’ and its’ equivalent in Indonesian, and what kind of verbs could accompany postposition ‘ni’. Data in this research is lingual unit in the form of sentence, and clause posposition ‘ni’ collected from Minna no Nihongo Shokyuu I & II and Minna no Nihongo Chuukyuu I. This study used translational equivalent method and distruibution. The results of this research show that postposition ‘ni’ has a variety of forms when equivalent in Indonesian, it could be a preposition pada, dengan, kepada, di, untuk, dari, ke, dalam, oleh and zero, and kind of verbs that could accompany ‘ni’ that is stative verb, punctual verb, movement verb, intransitve, continuative verb, and instantaneous verb. Postposition’ ni’ can be paired with preposition forms in Indonesian.Keywords : postposition, equivalent, verb

Abstract: This research discusses about Implicature imperative sentences on the anime The Quintensential Quinttuplets (Gotoubun No Hanayome). The aim of this study was to show the imperative classification on The anime The Quintensential Quintuplets (Gotoubun No Hanayome), and describe the means-end analysis that affects on the sentence change into the implicature imperative sentence on The anime The Quintensential Quintuplets (Gotoubun No Hanayome). In this study used the theory means-end by Geoffrey Leech in 1993. The data collection techniques that used by the record and observation techniques (observation). The results of this study are 37 data implicature imperative sentences.
