Abstract

The study aims to identify effect of length of storage by giving lime juice on the number of bacterial in domestic chicken meat. Experiments with a completely randomized design model were used in this study. The results is indicated that there was an effect of length of storage by giving lime juice on the number of bacteria in domestic chicken meat. The content of organic acids, citric acid, essential oils and limonene contained in lime juice affects the total bacteria found in domestic chicken meat. Domestic chicken meat with lime juice which was stored at <40C for 12 days tended to have an increasing in the number of bacteria contaminants. However, the total number of bacterial plates in domestic chicken meat did not exceed the quality standard limit of the microbial contamination level issued by the Indonesian National Standardization Agency, which is 1 x 106 CFU / g. Abstract

The main objectives of this research were to isolate and identify antagonists of Xanthomonas campestris from rhizosphere zone of broccoli plants. Soil samples were collected from broccoli farm located at Kembang Merta village, Tabanan, Bali. Isolation and identification of the antagonists were conducted at the Laboratory of Microbiology, Udayana University. Two fungal (Trichoderma harzianum and  Trichoderma viride) and two bacterial (Bacillus sp. and Pseudomonas sp.) antagonists potentially to be developed as biocontrol agents of Xanthomonas campestris were successfully identified in this research.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas dan kuantitas bakteriologi pada minuman di beberapa tempat makan sekitar kampus II STIKES Bali. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Sampel minuman diambil dari beberapa tempat makan di sekitar lingkungan Kampus II STIKES Bali. Analisis bakteriologi minuman dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode MPN (Most Probable Number) Coliform di UPT. Balai Laboratorium Kesehatan Provinsi Bali. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 27 sampel minuman (90%) terkontaminasi bakteri coliform dengan rentangan jumlah 2 - 240 Coliform/100 mL dan 3 sampel minuman (10%) tidak mengandung bakteri coliform. Sedangkan dari 27 sampel minuman yang mengandung Coliform, menunjukkan bahwa 23 sampel minuman (85,19%) terkontaminasi bakteri Fecal coli dan 4 sampel minuman (14,81%) tidak mengandung bakteri Fecal coli.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui keberadaan Escherichia coli dan Salmonella pada daging ayam broiler yang diberi air jeruk lemon (Citrus limon) dengan variasi suhu. Rancangan eksperimental penelitian digunakan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Daging ayam yang bersih direndam dengan air jeruk lemon selama 30 menit lalu disimpan selama 3x24 jam pada suhu 40C dan 250C. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis total mikroba dan bakteri E.coli dan Salmonella. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah angka kuman tertinggi adalah pada perlakuan sampel daging ayam yang disimpan pada suhu 250C tanpa pemberian air jeruk lemon yaitu 6,24 x 105 CFU/ml. Sedangkan perlakuan terendah pada sampel daging ayam yang disimpan pada suhu 40C dengan pemberian jeruk lemon yaitu 6,2 x 102 CFU/ml. Suhu rendah dan kandungan fitokimia pada jeruk lemon berpotensi mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri.

Abstract

Pola makan yang salah merupakan penyebab dari timbulnya masalah kekurangan dan kelebihan gizi. Hidangan makanan sehari-hari sebaiknya mengacu pada Pedoman Gizi Seimbang. Bagi anak-anak, sangat penting untuk mereka menjalani pola makan yang sehat untuk mendapatkan gizi yang seimbang bagi tubuhnya. Salah satu alternatif media yang dapat digunakan untuk mengedukasi anak-anak adalah buku. Kegiatan membaca buku sendiri mempunyai beberapa kelebihan, diantaranya melatih konsentrasi, melatih kemampuan berpikir logis, mengembangkan imajinasi serta kreatifitas, dan masih banyak lagi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan siswa yang diberi edukasi gizi seimbang melalui media buku cerita bergambar SDN 1 Kaba-Kaba. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pre Exsperimental Desain jenis One-Group Pretest-Postest Desain. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan program statistik komputer (SPSS 22.0 for Windows) dengan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian edukasi gizi seimbang melalui media buku cerita bergambar berpengaruh signifikan (P<0,05) terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan gizi seimbang di SDN 1 Kaba-Kaba.   Kata kunci: buku cerita, gizi seimbang, tingkat pengetahuan, siswa

Abstract

ABSTRAKLatar Belakang : Cuci tangan dengan benar sangat penting karena merupakan salah satu cara yang efektif untuk pencegahan penyakit melalui tangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh demonstrasi hand washing dance terhadap tingkat pengetahuan anak usia sekolah tentang mencuci tangan yang benar di SDN  2 Pemecutan.Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Pre Exsperimental Designs jenis One-Group Pretest-Postest Design. Teknik penentuan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling dan total sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 35 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan uji statistik Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test.Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan anak usia sekolah tentang mencuci tangan sebelum diberikan metode hand washing dance adalah kurang 74,3% dan setelah perlakuan adalah baik 88,6%. Analisis menunjukkan ada pengaruh demonstrasi hand washing dance terhadap tingkat pengetahuan anak usia sekolah tentang mencuci tangan yang benar di SDN  2 Pemecutan (p value < 0,001).Kesimpulan : Pemberian demonstrasi hand washing dance efektif meningkatkan tingkat pengetahuan anak usia sekolah tentang mencuci tangan yang benar. Pihak sekolah agar lebih meningkatkan pemberian informasi kesehatan khususnya tentang cuci tangan yang benar melalui metode pendidikan kesehatan yang beragam agar anak usia sekolah senang dan tidak bosan dalam mengikutinya.Kata Kunci :Tingkat pengetahuan, Cuci tangan, Hand washing danceABSTRACTBackground : Hand washing is very important because it is one for the effective ways for disease prevention through the hand. Purpose of the research was to determine the effect of hand washing dance demonstration on school-aged children knowledge level about proper hand washing at Elementary School 2 Pemecutan. Methods : This study employed a Pre Experimental Designs type of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sampling technique used total sampling with a total sample of 35 respondents.The data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test statistical test. Results : The result showed that the knowledge of school-age children about washing handsbefore the demonstration of hand washing dance was in poor category (74.3%) and after the treatment was in good category (88.6%). Analysis indicated that there was an effect of hand washing dance demonstrations on the knowledge level of school-aged children about proper hand washing in Elementary School 2 Pemecutan (p-value < 0.001). Conclusion : The demonstration of hand washing dance effectively increases the knowledge level of school-aged children about proper hand washing at Elementary School 2 Pemecutan. Hence, the school is expected to improve the health information provision, especially regarding proper hand washing through various health education methods, therefore, school-aged children are happy and not bored in following it.Keywords: Knowledge Level, Hand Washing, Hand Washing Dance

Abstract

ABSTRAKLatar Belakang: Anak yang mengalami kekerasan saat ini terbilang cukup tinggi. Kekerasan pada anak menjadi fenomena gunung es karena banyak kasus yang terjadi di masyarakat tetapi tidak dilaporkan. Pengetahuan dan sikap orang tua menjadi faktor utama dalam pencegahan kekerasan pada anak. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengidentifikasi pengetahuan dan sikap orang tua tentang kekerasan pada anak di Kelurahan Renon, Denpasar Selatan.Metode: Penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Pebruari sampai April 2021. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 350 responden yaitu orang tua dengan anak berusia ≤19 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa kuesioner pengetahuan dan sikap orang tua. Analisa data menggunakan analisa data dekriptif dalam frekuensi dan persentase.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan dan sikap responden tertinggi adalah baik yaitu sebanyak 343 responden (98%) dan 228 responden (65,1%).Kesimpulan: Pengetahuan dan sikap responden tentang kekerasan pada anak sudah baik. Hal ini dapat menjadi modal awal untuk mencegah kejadian kekerasan pada anak khususnya di Kelurahan Renon.Kata kunci: Pengetahuan Orang Tua, Sikap Orang Tua, Kekerasan Pada Anak. ABSTRACT Background: Children who experience violence today are quite high. Violence against children is an iceberg phenomenon because many cases occur in the community but are not reported. Knowledge and attitudes of parents are the main factors in preventing violence against children.Purpose: To identify knowledge and attitudes of parents toward violence against children in Renon Village, South of Denpasar.Methods: This descriptive study with a cross sectional approach was carried out from February to April 2021. The sample in this study amounted to 350 respondents, namely parents with children aged ≤19 years who were selected using stratified random sampling technique. Data collection tools used in the form of a questionnaire of knowledge and attitudes of parents. Data analysis used descriptive data analysis in frequency and percentage.Results: The results showed that the knowledge and attitudes of the highest respondents were good, as many as 343 respondents (98%) and 228 respondents (65.1%).Conclusion: Respondents' knowledge and attitudes about violence against children are good. This can be an initial resource to prevent violence against children, especially in Renon Village.Keywords: Parental Knowledge, Parental Attitude, Child Violence.

Abstract

Salak bali (Salacca zalacca) is one of the local fruit varieties cultivated in Bali. This fruit contains antioxidants, so that it is potential to be used as a probiotic drink. Probiotic drinks containing live microbes can inhibit the growth of pathogenic microbes and balance the microbes in the intestines so that they can affect the health of those who consume them. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the probiotic drink of salak bali fruit juice (Salacca zalacca) in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli. The study employed experimental with a completely randomized design. Salak juice was fermented for 18 days and harvested every 3 days, then an antibacterial test was carried out. The data were analyzed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The finding showed that probiotic drink of salak bali fruit juice effective to inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli. Optimal antibacterial growth was seen on the 15th day of fermentation with an inhibition zone of 8.13 ± 0.40 mm. The presence of inhibition caused by the phytochemical content found in salak fruit, SCOBY contained in drinks, and the length of the fermentation process.

Abstract

Pathogenic microorganisms include Aspergillus sp., Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Antibiotic administration during the treatment of contagious illnesses may cause bacterial resistance. Treatment with herbal medicine, made from natural ingredients, is an option to prepare for this. A plant known as gotu kola (Centella asiatica) has the capacity to become a herbal beverage. The intention of this research was to discover whether gotu kola leaves, a herbal beverage, had any antimicrobial properties. This study was categorized as an experimental study with an entirely random approach. This study performing an analysis of variance on the data, the Duncan's Multiple Range Test was conducted. The findings demonstrated that Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria could not grow when exposed to gotu kola leaf extract. Gotu kola leaf preparation has the ability to stop Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli from growing. The greatest average hindrance of 9.67 ± 0.36 mm and 10.12 ± 1.12 mm against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria was obtained by 100% concentrated infusion from the leaves of gotu kola. Alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins are examples of the gotu kola leaf extract's metabolite components that can increase the inhibitory power of the herb. However, the Aspergillus sp. in this research was not inhibited by the gotu kola extract. The body structure of the Aspergillus sp. and length of storing of the gotu kola extract are probable causes for there was not inhibitory effect.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKecelakaan lalu lintas menjadi penyebab kematian nomor tiga yang membutuhkan penangananserius. Kematian dapat terjadi karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan kemampuan dalammelakukan pertolongan pertama pre hospital. Untuk itu, peningkatan pengetahuan khususnyauntuk masyarakat awam dalam upaya pemberian pertolongan pertama pre hospital perludilakukan. Data diperkuat oleh keterangan tenaga medis pada salah satu rumah sakit di kotaDenpasar, kebanyakan pasien yang dibawa ke rumah sakit belum mendapatkan penangananawal dan dengan cara transportasi yang kebanyakan menyalahi aturan yang semestinya.  Untukitu solusi yang ditawarkan adalah memberikan penyuluhan dan pelatihan Bantuan Hidup Dasar(BHD) untuk masyarakat awam dalam hal ini siswa SMAN 5 Denpasar. Target luaran yangdiharapkan dari mitra dengan menggunakan metode ini adalah: 1) Siswa mampu memahamimateri penyuluhan tentang BHD, 2) Adanya peningkatan pengetahuan antara sebelum dansetelah diberikan penyuluhan, 3) Siswa mampu mempraktikan BHD dengan benar, 4) Siswamampu mengaplikasikan bantuan hidup dasar dalam memberikan pertolongan pre hospital, 5)Siswa mampu menyebarluaskan informasi yang telah didapat kepada orang-orang terdekat.Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah: 1) Siswa memahami materi penyuluhan tentang BHD, 2)Pemberian penyuluhan mengenai bantuan hidup dasar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkatpengetahuan siswa, 3) Siswa mampu mempraktikan BHD dengan benar, 4) Siswa mampumengaplikasikan BHD pre hospital, dan 5) Siswa mampu menyebarluaskan informasi kepadaorang terdekat. Kata Kunci : Penyuluhan, Pelatihan, Bantuan Hidup DasarABSTRACTTraffic accident is one of three numbers of death causes which requires serious attention. Deathcan occur due to lack of knowledge and first aid ability in pre-hospital. Therefore, improvingthe knowledge of the society of an effort to pre-hospital first aid provision is needed to be done.The data was reinforced by the testimony of medical personnels in a hospital in Denpasar city,most of the patients who were taken to hospital have not received proper early treatment andthe means of transport that most violate the rules it should be. Thus, an education and trainingof Basic Life Support (BLS) was offered as the solution to this problem, it was offered to thesociety, in this case they were the students of SMAN 5 Denpasar. There are some targetoutcomes expected from partners by using this method; 1) The students are able to understandthe material of BLS, 2) An improvement of students’  knowledge before and after they are giveninformation, 3) The students are able to practice BLS properly, 4) The students are able toapply basic life support in providing first aid of pre-hospital, 5) The students are able todisseminate information which has been obtained to those nearby. The results of this projectwere: 1) The students had good understanding of BLS, 2) Providing education about basic lifesupport had significant effect on the level of students' knowledge, 3) The students were able topractice BLS properly, 4) The students were able to apply BLS in pre-hospital, and 5) Thestudents were able to disseminate information to people nearby.Keywords: Education, Training, Basic Life Support
