Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of caricature image media in enhancing students' proficiency in argumentative writing.   This study employed a quantitative experimental research methodology, specifically utilising a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design.   The research was conducted in the Indonesian Language Education programme at a private university in Palembang during the academic year 2022/2023. The sample in this study was 29 semester 1 students (M = 2 and F = 27). The research data was taken through the process of observation, documents and tests. The data on the results of the written test were analyzed using the t-test for the treatment and experimental groups. This is a Paired Sample t-test. The results of the t-test obtained a t-count of 8.57 and the value of the t-table at dk (0.05)(29) was 2.048 with a significance level of 0.000. Because the calculated t value is greater than t table 8.57 2.048, it can be concluded that there is an influence of caricature image media on the learning outcomes of argumentative writing. While the average difference between the posttest and pretest is 4.75. From this average difference, it can be seen that the percentage increase was 47.11%. From the overall results of the presentation, it can be seen that the media of caricature images has a fairly good positive impact on the results of argumentation writing.

Abstract

Pelnggulnaan dan pelnyimpangan prinsip kelsantulnan belrbahasa adalah konselp dalam pragmatik yang belrkaitan delngan bagaimana pelnultulr dan lawan tultulr dalam pelntingnya belrkomulnikasi delngan sopan, melnghormati lawan bicara dan melnyelsulaikan pelnggulnaan bahasa selsulai delngan kontelks sosial dan buldaya. Olelh karelna itul, pelnelliti melnggulnakan jelnis pelnellitian kulalitatif, telknik pelngulmpullan data tiga tahap yaitul Obselrvasi, Relkam, dan Catat. Pelnellitian ini mellibatkan masyarakat Delsa Geldulng Reljo. Selrta melnggulnakan telknik analisis delskriptif kulalitatif, belrdasarkan hasil pelnellitian yang saya dapat saya simpullkan pelnggulnaan dan pelnyimpangan prinsip kelsantulnan belrbahasa ini masih selbagian telrjadi di kalangan masyarakat Delsa Geldulng Reljo dari selgi tultulran maulpuln dari nada bicaranya yang tinggi ataul kulrang sopan.

The purpose of this study is to know and describe figurative language and imagery in the study of Tembang stilistics from Sanga Village, Musi Banyuasin Regency. . The source of data in this study is video recordings from youtube.

Abstract

Literary psychology is a field of study that examines literary works considered to reflect psychological processes and activities. This research questions how the intrinsic elements in the novel "Topi Hamdan" by Auni Fa can be examined in the context of literary psychology, and the purpose of this research is to describe the intrinsic elements and emotional classification of the characters in the novel. The method used is qualitative descriptive research, with data derived from the novel "Topi Hamdan" published by PT Tiga Serangkai Pustaka Mandiri in November 2017. In this study, data collection techniques used include literature review, reading techniques, and note-taking techniques. The literature review was conducted by collecting books and journals related to literary psychology. To ensure data validity, the technique of triangulation was used by comparing the theories and data collected by the investigator. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. Based on the research findings, it was found that the intrinsic elements in the novel "Topi Hamdan" by Auni Fa discuss Hamdan's life journey filled with problems and sadness. This research also examines the setting, atmosphere, time, and character portrayal in the novel. In the novel "Topi Hamdan" by Auni Fa, there are twenty characters who play competent roles. This research also classifies the emotions of the characters in the novel. The identified emotions include the concept of guilt, suppressed guilt, self-punishment, shame, sadness, hatred, and love.

Abstract

Abstract

This study identified and described the comparison between reading skills and listening skills in obtaining information from the mass media in class VIII students of SMP Nurul Qomar Palembang. The method used in this research is descriptive and comparative. Research data obtained through test techniques and questionnaire techniques. Based on the results of the research, conclusions were obtained, namely the results of data analysis and discussion of the effectiveness of comparisons between reading skills and listening skills in obtaining information from the mass media in class VIII students of SMP Nurul Qomar Palembang. The mean value of the reading test for class VIII A students as a reading group was 74.8, the mean score for listening tests for class VIII B students as a listening group was 68.19 (74.8 > 68.19) and in obtaining information between reading skills and listening there is no significant difference.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the complete sentence learning method affects students' ability to write reviews. The research method used was the pretest-posttest control group design experimental method. The population consists of students in Class VIII of SMP Negeri 16 Palembang, which consists of two classes. The data collection method is the test method: pre-test and post-test. A computational investigation of the t-test yielded tcount = 29.95 and ttable = 1.67 for a table with a significance level of 0.05±n, so tcount > ttable and the alternative hypothesis or Ha is accepted. Abstract

This research was motivated by students of class VIII at SMP Nelgelri 32 Palembang who had many obstacles in the learning process of writing texts, one of which was the lack of students' understanding of the material taught by Gulrul. Seeing the conditions of self-learning, it is necessary to have an action to implement a learning model that is expected to generate ideals or ideas in writing review texts in Indonesian subjects. One of the models that is often used in learning in schools is the telorbult learning model, which is the recitation model. This type of research is quantitative research, with a correlation approach. This research aims to find out whether there is an effect of the recitation learning model in writing text lessons for class VIII students of SMP Nelgelri 32 Palelmbang. The population in this research amounted to 209 students, and the research sample consisted of 60 students who were divided into 34 students in class VIII.3 as an experimental class and 35 students in class VIII.4 as a control class. How to collect data through questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of data processing and data analysis which was carried out using the SPSS 22 program, it was concluded that the hypothetical influence of the recitation learning model in the learning of text writing for grade VIII students of SMPN 32 Palelmbang. The greater the effect is 0.763 or 76.3% which is in the range 0.60-0.799 with the toadstool category, while the other 23.7% is affected by other factors. Meanwhile, the relational level of the recitation learning model to the writing skills of review text was 0.823 or 82.3%, which was in the range of 0.80-1.000 with a very strong category. This means that there is a very strong relationship between the recitation learning model and the text writing skills of students of SMPN 32 Palelmbang during the entire 2022/2023 academic year. Abstract

Research purposes: This research aims to find out the psychological conflicts of the characters and moral values ​​in the novel Ivanna Van Djik by Risa Saraswati. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive data analysis and in this study the document in question is the novel Ivanna Van Djik by Risa Saraswati. The data source used in this research is document. The document used is the novel Ivanna Van Djik by Risa Saraswati in the seventh printing published by Bukune Creative Cipta 2019. The source of the data in the research is the subject from which the data can be obtained. The data collected in qualitative research is in the form of words. Based on the results of the study, it shows that there are psychological conflicts and moral values ​​contained in the novel Ivanna Van Djik by Risa Saraswati. Abstract

This research describes the strategy of language civility in the academic service in the Bureau of Financial ADMINISTRATION (BAK) University Pgri Palembang which includes a strategy of positive language and negative speaking. This research uses descriptive methods and qualitative approaches. Techniques and procedures for collecting data through observations, recordings, and transcripts. Data analysis is done by transcribe the recorded data into a text form and then analyzed based on the problem formulation. Based on data analysis, the civility of the staff and students in the academic services include a positive civility strategy that is dominated by Strategioffer promise (making offers and promises) and negative civility strategy in domination by the strategy minimise the imposition (reduce strength or power threats to the face of said partner). The realization of civility strategy in the event shows that speakers and partners speak in the academic service using language-based civility when communicating.
