Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze global trends in STEM-based robotic physics education through a bibliometric analysis conducted using data obtained from the Scopus database. STEM and robotics are increasingly gaining attention as effective approaches in physics education, aligning with the 21st-century demand for technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. This research utilizes R bibliometric software to identify publication patterns, researcher collaborations, and key trends in STEM-based robotic physics education from 2008 to 2024. The methods involved searching for articles using the keywords "STEM AND robotic AND physics AND education," resulting in 53 downloaded and analyzed articles. The analysis was conducted in two main steps: data collection from Scopus and metadata analysis to identify research trends and collaboration networks among researchers. The results indicated a substantial growth in the volume of publications and international collaborations, with the United States leading in publication contributions, followed by Ukraine and Colombia. The key findings reveal that recent research trends focus on learning media and STEM. Meanwhile, topics that have received less attention include the impact of STEM on the curriculum and the development of critical thinking skills. Several topics, such as augmented reality and critical thinking, were also identified as challenging potential avenues for future research. This research offers significant guidance for future researchers in developing more effective STEM-based education strategies and suggests closer collaboration between academics and practitioners in various countries. Future research is recommended to explore alternative bibliometric analysis tools and expand the database coverage to enrich perspectives and enhance the scope of findings.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a virtual laboratory that can be used in teaching physics about thermal expansion. This research uses Design Development Research (DDR) with the ADDIE development model. The development results produce virtual laboratory characteristics consisting of two experiments, three independent and control variables, namely the type of material and length of the cylindrical rod, and changes in temperature, as well as the dependent variable, namely temperature. change in cylinder rod length. Data collection is carried out by asking for validator responses to the virtual laboratory that has been developed. The validators consist of five physics lecturers who are experts in learning media and physics concepts. Validation data is processed using the average percentage of expert responses. The virtual laboratory aspect of thermal expansion validation results in quality, appearance and interactivity was 96%, 93% and 92.5% with very valid criteria. The validation results for all aspects conclude that the virtual laboratory on thermal expansion is very valid with a value of 93.8% and can be used for physics learning. Keywords: virtual laboratory, thermal expansion, physics learning

Abstract

The Potential of Utilizing Water Energy as a Renewable Energy Source is Significant. Water turbines are used to convert water energy into electrical energy. Among various types of turbines, the Savonius water turbine is most suitable for low-flow water conditions in Indonesia. This research aims to develop a horizontal axis Savonius water turbine for low-flow water conditions. The turbine utilizes L-shaped blades and a deflector with a 30-degree inclination to enhance power and torque. The developed turbine has an aluminum frame with dimensions of 66 cm x 38 cm x 40 cm, while the turbine blades are made of acrylic with dimensions of 30 cm x 10 cm. Data collection was performed by varying the water velocity in 10 levels (0.4 m/s to 4 m/s) with 10 repetitions for each velocity level. The research results revealed that the maximum power output occurred at a velocity of 4 m/s, generating 0.38 Watt with a shaft rotation of 258.63 rpm. This study highlights the potential of water energy as a renewable energy Learning media and demonstrates the practical application of Savonius water turbines for environmentally friendly water energy utilization.

Abstract

Problem Solving Skills (PSS) are essential skills in life because they help students find creative and innovative solutions to various complex problems. Apart from that, global warming is one of the physics materials studied in Phase E of the Independent Curriculum. Through learning with the Interactive Digital Physics Module (IDMP), students can learn scientific principles and concepts to solve problems. However, so far physics learning has focused more on physics products, while aspects of scientific processes and attitudes that should be trained are often neglected. The aim of this research is the development of an interactive digital physics module (IDMP) on the concept of global warming to improve students' problem solving skills. This research method uses the ADDIE model with a total sample of 37 consisting of 10 males and 27 females regarding the problem solving skills of students in one of the schools in Banten Province, Indonesia. The results of the research show that the characteristics of the IDMP on the concept of global warming for student learning and the Problem Solving Skills test consisting of 4 indicators Clearly defining the problem increased by 0.71, Developing a plan of action increased by 0.72, the effectively implementing the plan indicator increased by 0.63 and the valuing indicator and reflecting on the outcome increased by 0.65 category. The average N-gain result of these four indicators is 0.69, meaning that students' problem solving skills have increased in the moderate category.

Abstract

The goals of this research are to (1) compare the scientific process abilities of students with high and low science literacy levels in the guided discovery learning group to those of students in the expository group and (2) determine how learning models interact with science literacy to impact science process capabilities. The study used a 2x2 factorial design and was quantitative, using a quasi-experimental methodology. All eleventh graders at IPA MAN 11 in Jakarta were eligible to participate in this research. Utilizing a purposive sampling technique, the sample was derived from two classes: one that was taught using the guided discovery learning model and another that was taught using the expository model. Within each class, there were two subgroups: those with high science literacy and those with low science literacy. Data is gathered using a pre-and post-test approach using instruments such as a science literacy questionnaire and a test of scientific process abilities. According to the study's findings, students in the guided discovery learning group exhibited significantly better science process skills than those in the expository group, regardless of whether their science literacy level was high or low. Scientific process abilities are unaffected by the learning model's connection with scientific literacy. On the other hand, competency in the scientific method is another area in which science literacy helps. The interplay between good scientific literacy and the guided discovery learning paradigm affects students' abilities to carry out the scientific method. When paired with strong scientific literacy, the guided discovery learning methodology may help students become more proficient in the scientific process. This finding indicates that combining discovery-based learning and technology can be an innovative alternative to science learning.
