Abstract

This research aims to identify the conception of Central Javanese students on fluid pressure. The survey was conducted in Central Java involving 515 participants (eight grade students about 14 years old) consisting of 177 males and 338 females. The instrument consists of six questions in a four-tier format about fluid pressure and is distributed via Microsoft Form. The analysis was carried out with Rasch analysis and percentages with six categories of conceptions: CU (Conceptual Understanding); PP (Partial Plus); PM (Partial Minus); NU (No Understanding); MC (Misconception); and NC (No Coding). The Rasch analysis shows the Cronbach alpha is 0.68 (Enough) and the distribution of students' conceptions of fluid pressure forms a normal curve. Meanwhile, bias was not found for gender problems in answering the questions. The percentage of the result are: CU (17%), PP (4%), PM (39%), NU (13%), MC (27%), and NC (0%). This indicates that students' conceptions are still dominated by PM and MC categories. Students in the PM category have good characteristics but lack self-confidence. While the MC category is an unexpected result because students are confident in their answers that are wrong or not in accordance with scientific conceptions. Thus, further action is needed to overcome students' misconceptions. Keywords: Students' Conceptions, Fluid Pressure, Rasch Analysis

Abstract

Understanding the concept of physics students can not be achieved through lectures alone, but required practicum. However, limited equipment makes practicum difficult to do as an example of atomic spectroscopy. However, the use of information technology-based media in the form of virtual laboratories can be used as an alternative choice without losing its essence to facilitate Science Process Skills (SPS). This study aims to compare the improvement of students' SPS in atomic spectroscopy practicum using Advance Physics Virtual Laboratory (ADPHYLAB) and LABSTER. This research is a modified type of comparative research. The research time was conducted for 3 meetings, located in the Physics Laboratory of FKIP UNTIRTA. The research subjects were 8 physics laboratory assistants. The results showed that the SPS N-Gain score in the group using ADPHYLAB obtained consecutive values for classification, measurement, data interpretation and inferring indicators of 0.73; 0.89; 0.71 and 0.94, falling into the high category. While the group using LABSTER obtained scores on classification and measurement indicators of 0.40 and 0.53, falling into the medium category. While in the data interpretation and inferring indicators of 0.79 and 0.80 fall into the high category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that ADPHYLAB-based learning media can improve student SPS compared to LABSTER-based learning media.         Keywords: ADPHYLAB, virtual laboratory, LABSTER, science process skills, atomic spectroscopy. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i2.pp932-945

Abstract

Global warming is a global challenge that requires deep understanding and active involvement of students in developing sustainable solutions. In an effort to support students' active involvement in the learning process, the government provides textbooks for teachers and students to use. However, the book still has shortcomings so it has not been maximized properly. This research aims to obtain information regarding the need for a global warming teaching module based on problem based learning to improve students' problem solving abilities and self-efficacy. The research method used was exploratory descriptive with research subjects namely 15 Tangerang City physics teachers and 30 students at Yuppentek 1 Tangerang High School. Data collection was carried out through distributing teacher and student needs questionnaires, problem solving skills tests, and student self-efficacy questionnaires via Google Form. The analysis technique used is quantitative. The results show that more than 50% of students have low problem solving abilities and self-efficacy. In addition, 50% of teachers and students need teaching modules to present material more clearly in the implementation of learning, providing a more systematic competency. So, it can be concluded that it is necessary to develop a problem-based learning-based global warming teaching module that can improve students' problem-solving abilities and self-efficacy.

Abstract

This research aims to produce junior high school science teaching materials in the form of e-modules that are integrated with verses from Al-Qur'an and assisted by virtual simulations on the subject of vibrations, waves and sound. The research method used is development research (R & D) which is adapted from the Borg and Gall development model. The stages of development research carried out are research and information collecting, planning, developing preliminary product, preliminary field testing, and main product revision. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires given to students, material experts, teaching materials experts, science-Al Qur'an integration experts and science teachers to determine student responses, validity and practicality of the products being developed. The research results showed that the validity score of material experts was 89.25% in the very valid category, science-AlQur'an  integration experts were 71% in the valid category, and teaching materials experts were 72.62% in the valid category. So overall the average validity of the products developed is 77.63% in the very valid category. The practicality test results obtained a score of 94.27% in the very practical category and student responses were 97.67% in the very good category. So it can be concluded that the integrated junior high school science e-module with Al-Quran verses assisted by virtual simulations on vibration, wave and sound material that was developed obtained very valid and very practical results and received a very good response from students. Keywords: Teaching Materials, E-Module, Integrated Al-Qur'an Verses, Virtual Simulation, Vibration, Waves and Sound

Abstract

The increasingly difficult educational challenges and needs in today's modern world require interactive learning. The research was conducted to know students' critical thinking skills (CTS) in the kinetic gas theory material. Another goal is, as an initial observation, to develop learning methods with guided inquiry learning models assisted by android-based 3D modules in kinetic gas theory material. The research population was all class XI students at Tuban 2 Public High School in 2022/2023 as majoring in Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The research was conducted in 5 classes with the same distribution of questions and questionnaires. As secondary data, the researcher added several articles relevant to the research. The results of this study using several questions on kinetic gas theory material for class X1 were that students needed to be more able to answer each question with indicators of critical thinking. The student's obstacle in answering the questions lies in the need for more understanding of kinetic gas theory material and the not yet maximal use of the method in the current teaching and learning process. The resulting inquiry learning in the future will change the CTS of Tuban 2 Public High School students in the kinetic gas theory.

Abstract

Environmental awareness in elementary school students generally still focuses on cognitive knowledge, without being followed by reflective understanding or real behavior in daily life. This condition highlights a gap in environmental education practices, particularly the lack of integration between affective and behavioral aspects, indicating a need for a learning strategy that fosters a meaningful attitude of environmental care. This study examined the effectiveness of immersive digital storytelling comics developed based on a deep learning approach in enhancing environmental awareness among elementary school students. The method used is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design model. The research subjects consisted of 34 grade V students at one of the East Jakarta public elementary schools in the even semester of the 2024/2025 school year. The instrument is in the form of an environmental awareness questionnaire compiled based on indicators of environmental care attitudes, supported by observations and interviews. Data were analyzed descriptively, using paired t-tests, and N-Gain calculations. The results revealed a significant increase in environmental awareness, with the average score increasing from 42.06 (pretest) to 83.09 (posttest), and p<0.001. The N-Gain analysis of 71.40% indicates a high level of improvement. These findings demonstrate that integrating digital storytelling comics with a deep learning pedagogical approach effectively fosters environmental understanding, empathy, and pro-environmental behavior among elementary school students.
