Abstract

The gasing game is a game where the gasing can rotate on an axis and balance at one point. This game is classified as one of the traditional games in Indonesia which is starting to disappear. One way to preserve this game is to integrate it with learning at school. Therefore, the authors are interested in studying the physics concepts contained in tops so that they can be used during physics learning activities in class. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, which is a procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people or observable behavior. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there are many physics concepts in top games, including the balance of rigid bodies, frictional forces, work, moments of inertia, and rotational motion, as well as kinetic energy as well as gravitational forces. So that traditional gasing games can be integrated with physics learning at school with the hope that students will learn physics more easily so that students have the desire to always study physics and be able to understand physics material properly and optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance creative thinking skills through Project-Based Learning (PjBL) assisted Game Open Online Physics Instructional (GOOPI). GOOPI is an online game-based physics learning media and contains physics concepts found on the page: https://goopi.id/ (use UC browser). The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with two experimental groups and one control group. The sample of this study was 75 eighth grade students from a province in Indonesia. GOOPI technology as software developed to support PjBL activities in the classroom. The results of the research show that project-based learning assisted GOOPI can enhance creative thinking skills. Based on statistical calculations there is an increase in the gain value, an increase of 0.72 in the high category for the PjBl experimental group 1 with GOOPI, the PjBl experimental group 2 alone experienced an increase in the gain value of 0.55 in the medium category, and the group with the teacher based instructional method experienced an increase in the gain value of 0, 45 medium categories. It is suggested that GOOPI technology can be an interesting and effective tool to activate students' positive interest in the PJBL process. In addition, the implications of applying GOOPI for physics learning and recommendations for further study are discussed in this study.

Abstract

AbstractThis article uses data from the Scopus database for bibliometric review and wordcloud analysis visualization of publications related to Brain and Critical Thinking in Education (BCTE). The study highlights the importance of the brain in the learning process and critical thinking, as well as identifying research trends, key topics, and geographic distribution of authors over the decade 2013-2023. With a focus on English-language publications, the study reveals that "critical thinking" is the most frequently cited topic, with the United States as the most significant contributor. This analysis also suggests the need for further research that integrates brain-based learning with critical thinking to improve students' critical thinking and 21st-century skills in education. Understanding how the brain works will enable educators to design a comprehensive learning plan, including teaching materials, implementation, media, models, strategies, approaches, and appropriate methods, to achieve learning goals. How to Cite: Sesrita, A., Supena, A., Sumantri, M. Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid Virtual Microscopic Simulation (VMS) media used in light wave learning and evaluate the use of VMS media in increasing students’ level of understanding. The research method used in this research is research and development using the ADDIE model. The sample in this study consisted of 35 students at one of the universities in central Jakarta, Indonesia. The results showed that the development of VMS on the light wave material, when implemented, the gain test calculation increased the level of students’ understanding of 0.56 in the medium category. The results of the level of student understanding obtained complete understanding data by 52% of students understanding partly, 42% of students understanding incorrectly, and 3% of students not understanding. This shows that using VMS media on light wave material can enhance student understanding.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze high school students' ability to solve physics problems as a consideration for implementing the PBL learning model assisted by Android-based 3D digital modules. The research method uses descriptive qualitative analysis techniques to find out information about a problem the facts face. The research was conducted at SMA Nahdlatul Ulama 1 Gresik with 160 students as respondents. Data obtained from research respondents were categorized into three groups, namely low (score 0-40), medium (score 41-70) and high (score 71-100). From the research results, there were 154 students in the low category, while there were 5 students in the medium category and 1 person in the high category. The conclusion is that students' ability to solve physics problems is still low and needs to be improved, so it is necessary to provide innovative learning models and media, one of which can be done by implementing PBL models and media in the form of Android-based 3D digital modules which will make students more interested in learning so that helps hone physics problem solving skills.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Mobile Learning Simulation (MLS) media that is valid for learning the concept of heat transfer. The method used in this research is the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate). MLS was developed to make it easier for students to learn the concept of expansion and increase their understanding of the microscopic nature of heat transfer. MLS can display six 2D simulations, namely the processes of length expansion, area expansion, volume expansion, and heat transfer by conduction, convection, and radiation. The product effectiveness test was carried out with correspondents of 35 students in one of the schools in western Indonesia, obtaining an average score of 84.3% and was in the very good category. Based on the test results, the MLS application is efficient and suitable for use as a physics learning medium in high school.
