Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the economic growth and welfare of the people of Semarang City from 2018 to 2022 through the coordination of regional spending. A literary study was used in this research, with five main points of discussion: personnel expenditures, capital, goods and services, grants, and social assistance. According to the study's findings, economic growth is linked to regional spending, with personnel, capital, and social assistance spending all having a positive impact on economic growth. However, several points of regional spending have a less good impact on increasing economic growth in the city of Semarang. Meanwhile, on the public welfare side, regional spending has a positive influence. The influence is obtained on personnel spending, capital, and grants. Each budget has a way to improve welfare such as the construction of a structure that can open job vacancies to impact people's welfare. With this, the local government must strive to optimize regional spending so that there is significant economic growth and an increase in people's welfare in the city of Semarang.

Abstract

A country's economic growth inevitably evolves from one era to the next. But in general, the global geopolitical conditions that exist in the 21st century era have affected the structure of government revenues and expenditures. This study will discuss the effect of state revenues and government expenditures that affect the rate of national economic growth after the co-19 pandemic. This study uses a systematic literature review analysis method obtained through various academic and non-academic articles such as journal articles, policy briefs, national development planning documents, working papers of relevant ministries, and mainstream online mass media on national economic conditions. The results in this study prove that national economic development after the co-19 pandemic is the result of restructuring the government's ability to manage state finances which include revenue generation and spending. In addition, the state's ability to manage large production capacity can be a sign of the high level of prosperity of citizens in a nation. So this research has broad consensus implications characterized by incessant investment in human capital and physical infrastructure that can later accelerate the rate of economic growth.

Abstract

A capital is a city that is considered the seat of government of a country or region. The capital is often seen as a symbol of the state and is the residence for the president or state leaders. The capital is also often the most important city from a political, economic and cultural point of view. In some cases, the capital is also the most popular and densely populated city. However, in some countries, the capital may be changed or moved to another city. Moving the Indonesian capital from Jakarta to Kalimantan is a decision taken by the Indonesian government to move the nation's capital from Jakarta to another region, namely Kalimantan. This move was made with the aim of reducing pressure on Jakarta which is currently experiencing environmental problems and severe traffic jams, as well as to spread development to other areas of the country. The relocation of the capital will result in major changes for the people of Indonesia, including changes in economic, social and cultural terms.

Abstract

Purpose: This research scrutinizes the impact of NEW SAKPOLE on increasing Original Local Government Revenue (PAD) post-pandemic in Central Java Province BAPENDA. Methods: This research employed qualitative methods with a descriptive research approach. The types and sources of data used were primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques were conducted by looking for references from various sources, such as reports, previous research journal articles, and news sources related to research. Since the data analysis techniques utilized in NEW SAKPOLE application research must be appropriate to the data collection type, qualitative analysis was performed to analyze data collected from interviews, observations, and FGDs. Result: The research results uncovered that NEW SAKPOLE is a public service innovation by the Central Java Government that encourages people to be obedient and disciplined when paying motor vehicle taxes. Implementing this application service is highly effective, as it can save people's time and energy and does not cause crowds, especially during and after the pandemic. Other governments can imitate this innovation to increase revenue from the tax sector, especially the motor vehicle tax sector, which potentially increases Original Local Government Revenue in Central Java Province. Novelty: This research enriches literature by discovering the impact of implementing NEW SAKPOLE on increasing Original Local Government Revenue. This research provides new insights and sound examples for related parties regarding implementing the E-SAMSAT application in facilitating Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) payments by considering post-COVID-19 as the current condition when this research was conducted. This study also completes a sector-by-sector analysis that has yet to be carried out in previous studies regarding the implementation of NEW SAKPOLE.

Abstract

This study aims to present a history of city branding: hyper-competition, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. The method used in this study used qualitative with a literature study approach. The findings in the study showed that in understanding the place and building city branding, there are at least three processes first through urban governance planning or infrastructure, then observation by looking at other places in the city branding. Finally, branding representation on social media is in the form of websites and tweets through news, while Instagram is through branding images from somewhere and several other media. Furthermore, City branding can be hyper-competition, showing that business competition is increasing. On the other hand, it can be a challenge and an opportunity considering that many cities have reimagined their competitive strategies by maximizing their internal potential, namely existing resources, to take opportunities and anticipate the threats faced. The contribution of this study provides an understanding of measurements in the city branding literature, helps researchers discover new studies, and can interpret the complex nature of cities. Another thing is that closing the gap between theory and practice presents a huge challenge for brands.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the major problems affecting the Ugandan public sector through the lens of public choice theory. The research addresses the economic, political, social, and technological challenges that force government institutions to seek new ways to improve public sector performance. Despite various reforms initiated over the past 25 years, corruption, inefficiency, and inadequate service delivery remain pervasive issues. Corruption affects resource allocation and hinders development, while inefficiency is linked to a lack of skilled personnel, outdated infrastructure, and bureaucratic red tape. Shortcomings in service delivery, particularly in health and education, contribute to public dissatisfaction.Methodologically, this study employs a qualitative analysis of existing literature and government reports to assess the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures, capacity-building initiatives, technology adoption, and bureaucratic streamlining. The analysis reveals that while efforts to enhance transparency through digital platforms and establish anti-corruption units have been made, the impact of these reforms has been limited. This limitation is attributed to implementation challenges and resistance to the application of private sector techniques in the public sector. The study concludes that sustained progress in the Ugandan public sector requires ongoing commitment, comprehensive institutional reforms, and active community engagement to ensure effective governance and improved service provision.
