Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and improve the efficiency of the motor vehicle insurance claim process at PT Asuransi Jasaraharja Putera (JRP) through the implementation of Lean Management using Value Stream Mapping (VSM). Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and analysis of claim documentation from 2021 to 2024. The Current State Map revealed that the average claim completion time was 86 days, significantly exceeding the company’s Service Level Agreement (SLA) of 14 working days. By applying seven VSM tools such as Process Activity Mapping (PAM), Quality Filter Mapping (QFM), and Decision Point Analysis (DPA), the study found that 46% of total activities were non-value-added (NVA). Major inefficiencies were identified in redundant data entry, prolonged approval processes, and manual document handling. The redesigned Future State Map proposes digital process integration and automation to eliminate waste and reduce cycle time. A Fishbone analysis identified six key sources of inefficiency related to human factors, methods, machines, materials, environment, and measurement. The optimized process is projected to reduce claim processing time by approximately 40% and improve customer satisfaction. Overall, this research highlights the novelty of applying VSM for digital process optimization in Indonesia’s insurance industry, demonstrating its effectiveness in enhancing operational efficiency and supporting digital transformation.

Abstract

The extensive use of synthetic dyes in the batik industry contributes to environmental pollution, creating the need for sustainable natural dye alternatives. This study investigates the use of annatto seeds (Bixa orellana) and clay as eco-friendly batik dyes to support the green creative economy and sustainable tourism. Annatto pigments were extracted using hot water and soda ash, while clay dye was prepared through mixing, homogenisation, and sedimentation. The dyes were applied to batik fabric by immersion and soaking, followed by fixation using alum with Indigofera leaf infusion for annatto and tunjung solution for clay. The results showed that annatto produced a stable orange-brown colour, while clay generated a distinctive greenish-brown earthy tone. These natural dyes offer an environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic dyes, increase the added value of local batik SMEs in Blitar Regency, and promote sustainable tourism through educational natural batik experiences.

Abstract

The halal industry is a large and rapidly growing market that encompasses various sectors. This review of literature is motivated by the growing demand for halal products, the importance of trade among Muslim-majority nations, and the need for a deeper understanding of how companies deal with competitive barriers when venturing into new markets. Bibliometric analysis used to identify key publications, authors, and keywords, as well as to track trends and patterns over time. The findings of this study can inform businesses, policymakers, and industry stakeholders about effective approaches to internationalizing halal food businesses and contribute to the sustainable growth of the halal food industry. Moreover, identifying several key research trends and gaps can provide insights for future researchers, especially in unexplored areas within the study of the internationalization of halal food.

Abstract

Empowerment and training program become a new technique that makes employees proactive in improving their performance. Thus, this research purpose to observe the appraisal of the Employee Empowerment and Training programs of zakat in achieving Employee zakat (Amil) Performance by mediating Islamic Job Satisfaction at the Zakat Institution (LAZNAS) in Central Java. This research used quantitative method with a survey approach. The research sample was 180 Amil at 12 LAZNAS in Central Java, who served in the collection, distribution, and utilization of zakat with a minimum service period of two years, and had received training about zakat management. The research sample was selected through the purposive sampling technique and analyzed with the Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The research findings indicate that the variables Employee Empowerment and Training programs have an effect toward Islamic Job Satisfaction. Then there is the direct and indirect effect of the Training programs toward the AmilPerformance at the Zakat Institution (LAZNAS) in Central Java with the mediation of Islamic Job Satisfaction. Meanwhile, for the effect of the Employee Empowerment toward Amil Performance, there is no significant in direct effect. However, there is an indirect effect of the Employee Empowerment toward  Amil Performance at the Zakat Institution (LAZNAS) in Central Java with the mediating Islamic Job Satisfaction. This research was expected to be of particular concern to zakat institutions, especially in the human resources section to help provide information regarding the importance of empowering and training program for Amil performance in Zakat Institutions (LAZNAS) to improve collecting, distributing and utilizing zakat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of human resource management in Islamic financial institutions and to formulate strategies for its development in response to industrial modernization and digital disruption. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method. The findings indicate that the transformation of Human Resource Management requires a holistic approach that integrates technical competence (kafa'ah), managerial competence, and moral-spiritual character (himmah) based on Islamic values. This transformation is realized through the strengthening of personal, organizational, and spiritual competencies implemented in human resource planning, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance appraisal, and compensation systems based on the principle of justice ('adl). Furthermore, the development of human resources is carried out through the continuous enhancement of personal, organizational, and spiritual competencies integrated into recruitment, training, career development, and performance evaluation processes.

Abstract

Reliability of rotating equipment is crucial to maintaining production continuity in the pulp and paper industry. Equipment 432P082 in the Fiberline 2 area of ​​PT. XYZ has a low Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) of about one month, which can disrupt operations and increase maintenance costs. This study evaluates alignment methods to improve equipment reliability and extend MTBF. The research methods include field observation, collecting historical failure data, vibration measurements, laser alignment, and MTBF analysis before and after repair. The results show that a more precise alignment method can reduce misalignment and vibration levels to meet ISO 10816 and ANSI/ASA S2.75-2017 standards. The MTBF value increased from approximately one month to more than ten months without equipment failure during the observation period. In addition, component failures became less frequent, and maintenance became more effective. Prior to the repair, the company incurred maintenance costs of Rp74,210,400 per month due to the high frequency of failures. Therefore, implementing proper alignment methods has been proven to improve equipment reliability, extend MTBF, and provide cost savings and operational efficiencies for companies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of work motivation from an Islamic perspective and its implications for human resource performance. The study employed a conceptual qualitative approach using library research methods through the analysis of scientific literature related to work motivation, spirituality, and Islamic human resource management. The findings reveal that Islamic work motivation has a holistic character by integrating intrinsic, extrinsic, and spiritual dimensions. In Islam, work is not only oriented toward material achievement but is also considered an act of worship based on the values of amanah, ihsan, and seeking the pleasure of Allah SWT. Spiritual motivation positively influences productivity, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, loyalty, and employee work ethics. The study also indicates that modern motivation theories still have limitations in accommodating spiritual dimensions. Therefore, integration between modern managerial approaches and Islamic values is necessary for sustainable human resource development.

Abstract

Contextual science education connects scientific concepts with learners’ cultural and environmental experiences. Although ethnoscience research has documented medicinal plants and local practices, limited attention has been given to reconstructing these practices into curriculum-relevant science content, particularly in the Riau Malay context. This study identified ethnoscience dimensions in selected Riau Malay traditional healing practices, reconstructed them into science concepts for senior high school learning, and examined teachers’ and students’ perceptions of the proposed integration. A descriptive-exploratory mixed-methods design with a qualitative-first sequence was employed. Qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving five purposively selected knowledge holders in Indragiri Hulu, Siak, and Kampar, while quantitative data were obtained from 15 science teachers and 120 students through perception questionnaires. Four ethnoscience dimensions emerged: empirical knowledge, utility-based plant classification, natural-material processing, and sustainable utilization, with intergenerational transmission functioning as a cross-cutting mechanism. These dimensions were reconstructed into concepts related to plant structure and function, biodiversity, extraction and changes in matter, ecology, and conservation. Teachers and students expressed positive perceptions of the proposed learning contexts, with scores of 87.20% and 84.00%, respectively. The study offers an evidence-informed pathway for translating local practices into observable phenomena, scientific concepts, and curriculum content. Further research should validate the resulting materials and examine their effects on scientific literacy and environmental learning outcomes.

Abstract

Introduction: Halal food research in Indonesia has expanded across consumer behaviour, halal certification, supply-chain management, food safety, authentication, technology, and sustainability, but the overall development and intellectual structure of these research streams remain fragmented. This study aims to examine publication trends, research characteristics, thematic structures, and emerging research directions in halal food research in Indonesia. Methods: This study applies bibliometric analysis to Scopus-indexed publications retrieved in August 2026 without publication-year restrictions. The search used the keywords “halal food” and “Indonesia”, while Bibliometrix/Biblioshiny and VOSviewer were used to analyse publication productivity, sources, affiliations, authors, citations, keyword co-occurrence, and thematic evolution. Results: The findings show substantial growth in publication output, particularly during 2023–2025. Three interconnected research streams were identified: halal food, consumers, certification, and the halal ecosystem; halal authentication, meat products, adulteration, and molecular identification; and advanced analytical and instrumental techniques. Recent research increasingly focuses on authentication, DNA analysis, polymerase chain reaction, chemometrics, spectroscopy, proteomics, and related technologies. Conclusion and suggestion: Halal food research in Indonesia is evolving toward an interdisciplinary, scientifically supported, and technology-enabled halal assurance ecosystem. Future research should integrate halal certification, consumer trust, scientific authentication, digital traceability, supply-chain integrity, halal–tayyib, and sustainability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to design a Tawhid-based HRD model that embraces spirituality, digital competence, and ethical responsibility in response to digital economic disruption. This study employed a qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). The literature review was conducted using qualitative content analysis and thematic analysis, then conceptual synthesis to identify the critical elements of the HRD model. The results of this study revealed that the process of human resource development in the digital economy necessitates a conceptual framework that encompasses tawhid consciousness, adaptive digital competence, and ethical/social responsibility. Based on this, the proposed Tawhid-based Human Resource Development Model includes three interrelated dimensions, namely, (1) tawhid as the spiritual and epistemological dimension, (2) adaptive digital competence as the competence dimension, and (3) ethics/social responsibility as the behavioral dimension. This model contributes to the existing literature by framing tawhid as a fundamental dimension that links technological competence and ethical/spiritual responsibility in human resource development in the digital economy.
