Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to enhance the entrepreneurial mindset and marketing skills of goat farmers in Sumbersawit Village, Magetan, through a community service initiative focused on digital marketing, social media use, and innovative livestock product management. Research methodology: Conducted in Sumbersawit Village, the program involved 20 goat farmers. This approach includes workshops on entrepreneurial motivation, digital marketing, and social media tools. Canva was introduced for content creation, and Instagram Ads for market reach expansion. Participants also engaged in hands-on sessions and designed campaigns on platforms such as Instagram and Tokopedia. Results: The program significantly improved participants’ entrepreneurial awareness and digital marketing competencies. Farmers successfully learned to create promotional materials using Canva and were able to broaden their reach through Instagram Ads. Around 80% of participants expressed interest in diversifying their livestock businesses, 60% planned to utilize goat waste for organic fertilizer, and 50% applied Instagram Ads to promote products online. Conclusions: This initiative boosted local entrepreneurship and digital literacy. Farmers demonstrated improved skills in using Canva and Instagram Insights to develop creative and impactful content. These changes are expected to increase income and expand customer reach. However, continued mentoring is essential for sustained application and innovation. Limitations: Limited digital exposure among the participants required extended training times. Additionally, the scope of the study —goat farmers in a single village—may limit its applicability to other agricultural sectors or regions. Contribution: This study offers a model for applying digital marketing to rural entrepreneurship. This highlights how accessible technologies can empower farmers and bridge rural-to-urban market gaps.

Abstract

The livestock waste in Sambi village has not been utilized for organic fertilizer. In fact, the number of livestock farmers is increasing every year, which has an impact on increasing waste. The purpose of this activity is to provide training and practice in making solid organic fertilizer from livestock waste in Sambi Village, Sambirejo District, Sragen Regency. Organic fertilizer is a form of fertilizer that comes from organic materials, such as animal waste, rotting plant residues, and other natural sources. Making organic fertilizer has the advantage of increasing community income and optimal use of organic fertilizer can improve soil fertility due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers. The majority of Sambi villagers have livestock and also cultivate agricultural crops. Waste has not been utilized for solid organic fertilizer and is still completely dependent on chemical fertilizers that cause physical damage to the soil, besides being expensive and rare. This program provides a package of solid organic fertilizer processing technology so that farmer groups can produce independently. In achieving the success of the program, socialization, training and mentoring have been carried out periodically. The production of organic fertilizer is expected to increase soil fertility and can be sold to increase community income

Abstract

This article explores the concept of social welfare, a universal aspiration for all humans. In Islam, welfare encompasses not only material well-being but also spiritual fulfillment. Achieving this welfare requires adherence to Allah's commands and avoidance of His prohibitions. Prominent Muslim thinkers, such as Ibn Taimiyah and Ibn Khaldun, have extensively discussed this topic. Ibn Taimiyah emphasized the role of government institutions in fostering prosperity, arguing that a government serves as a custodian of divine commandments. By promoting virtues like discipline, honesty, and justice, and discouraging wrongdoing, the government plays a key role in ensuring societal welfare. Similarly, Ibn Khaldun posited that prosperity arises when key factors—such as sharia, political authority, population, wealth, development, and justice—function harmoniously, a concept encapsulated in his "Circle of Equity" theory. This sense of unity enables collaboration, mutual accountability, and the fulfillment of shared obligations, fostering social harmony and driving the development of civilization and prosperity

Abstract

Successful sustainable regional development requires not only the efforts of formal institutions, such as the government but also active community efforts. Therefore, the involvement of the local community is a crucial aspect. This was in line with the Japanese method referred to as Machizukuri. Based on the definition by Evan (2002), Machizukuri is defined as community/neighborhood planning, which implies substantive citizen involvement in autonomous regional planning. Since 2018, the development of the Embung Setumpeng tourism area in Ampel, Gentungan Village, Mojogedang District, Karanganyar Regency has been conducted with many parties. This area development was closely related to the Machizukuri process practiced in Japan, consisting of a bottom-up voluntary process for a common welfare society. To determine the Michizukuri active participant of the villagers, an evaluation was made through joint planning activities in developing the Embung Setumpeng master plan involving the Sebelas Maret University institution in the Matching Fund 2023 activity. The development of the master plan was the beginning of efforts to accomplish the integration of the tourism sector (Pokdarwis Embung Setumpeng), agriculture (Tani Mulyo I), and farm (Tani Mulyo V). The synergistic performance between departments has produced various results, including a grand design master plan, solar power generation, micro-hydro electricity generation, automatic water filtration, recycling of livestock manure into biogas, and the introduction of modern machinery to support organic rice production. The initial step was to conduct field observations and a transect walk, and the second step included interviews with related stakeholders. The third step was conducted a Forum Group Discussion (FGD). This research is expected to find several factors that influence the successful Machizukuri process in developing the Embung Setumpeng tourism area. Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to compare the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance of Sharia-labeled and conventional companies in the energy industry and examine the effect of the Sharia label on ESG performance. This study is important because Sharia-labelled companies are expected to adhere to Islamic values reflected in good corporate governance, demonstrate social responsibility, and participate in environmental conservation. Methodology – This study uses a quantitative approach with a fixed effect model panel data regression technique, involving financial and non-financial data from companies listed on the ISSI and non-ISSI in the 2016-2023 period.Findings – This study found that Sharia companies in the energy sector have lower sustainability (ESG) performance than conventional companies, especially in the environmental dimension. The Islamic dummy variable shows a negative effect on ESG performance, while control variables, such as total assets, DER, and leverage, play an important role in influencing performance. There is no significant difference in social and governance dimensions between Islamic and conventional companies. This study recommends that Islamic stock index screening include sustainability aspects more comprehensively. Implications – Policy makers, industry, and academics can use the findings of this study as recommendations to strengthen sustainable performance in Sharia-labelled companies.Originality – This study analyzes sustainability performance in each industrial sector using materiality-based ESG performance.

Abstract

Background: Bile duct injury (BDI) is a serious complication of cholecystectomy, particularly with the widespread adoption of laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). Currently, a wide spectrum of multidisciplinary interventions with different degrees of invasiveness is indicated for BDI management. This study evaluates reallife clinical experiences in managing post-cholecystectomy BDIs in Central Java, Indonesia. We aim to discuss the prevention of BDI further and find out the most effective management and timing of interventions for BDI based on these analyses. Methods: Twenty-seven cases with iatrogenic BDI following cholecystectomy were classified according to BDI Strasberg classification, repair procedures, mortality and success rate procedures, onset of BDI, and timing of repair procedures. The correlation analyses were performed using the Contingency Coefficient Correlation Test. Results: Of the 27 patients, BDIs were detected in 33.3% of patients within two weeks of surgery. Major BDIs (Strasberg E) often required biliodigestive surgery, with variable outcomes. The overall mortality rate was 29.6%, mainly due to biliary sepsis. ERCP success was significantly associated with less severe BDI (p=0.018). This study stated that the type of previous cholecystectomy, timing of BDI diagnosis, and duration of BDI to repair procedures did not statistically influence mortality (p=0.822, p=0.551, p=0.958, respectively). Conclusion: Prevention of BDI is paramount, emphasizing surgical training, careful patient selection, and the critical view of safety technique. Early detection, multidisciplinary management tailored to the injury’s severity improve outcomes. While minimally invasive approaches are preferred for minor BDIs, major injuries necessitate surgical intervention by experienced hepatobiliary surgeons.

Abstract

The Lapis Tugu Kediri is a SME facing several waste-related issues that reduce its productivity. Using a qualitative approach, the research consists of two phases. First, a value stream mapping of the production flow is created and analyzed using value stream mapping tools. Next, a fishbone diagram is developed to identify the sources of waste before proposing improvements. The research revealed several types of waste in the production process, with the most significant being overprocessing and unnecessary motion. The value stream mapping highlighted specific sections where waste occurs, while the fishbone diagram identified root causes such as the absence of a timer in the baking section and an unqualified production table. Based on these findings, targeted improvements were proposed to eliminate waste and optimize the production flow. The research has been validated using data triangulation at a single SME, providing deep insight and information. However, further research on other SMEs or using a different methodology within the same SME is encouraged. Value stream mapping and fishbone diagram is a useful combination in terms of analyzing waste in the SME scope. The validation of analyzing waste through value stream mapping and fishbone diagram is well-documented and original.
