Abstract

This study has two objectives, namely compiling and analyzing vulnerability indexes of business unit, and analyzing key success variables for food and beverage industries after the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis tool used in this study is business vulnerability analysis. The vulnerability analysis is derived from the vulnerability index to the COVID-19 threat, which is collected from all aspect indicator values of MSMEs' vulnerability to the COVID-19 theeat. These values consist of exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity. The results of the study explain that food and beverage MSMEs are categorized into medium vulnerability to the threat of COVID-19, where sensitivity is the highest influence aspect as a determinant of the vulnerability level. Due in part to the high number of MSMEs that are sensitive to the threat of COVID-19 and lack the ability to adjust, there may have been a fall in sales and bankruptcy of food and beverage MSMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Supply chain resilience, which consists of robustness, flexibility, and agility, are critical to maintaining business productivity and sustainability. The objective of this research is to scrutinize the robustness and adaptability in relation to agility, in addition to examining the impact of flexibility and agility on the sales of SMEs. Data was amassed through structured interviews with 314 proprietors of food and beverage businesses in Surakarta. The analytical method utilized was one of the structural equation modeling techniques, specifically, Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The analytical outcomes suggest that to bolster the sustainability of food and beverage enterprises, SMEs must exhibit agility and adaptability during periods of uncertainty in the business environment, supported by a robust supply chain. Moreover, agility partially functions as a mediator in the robustness and flexibility of SMEs in relation to sales. The implications of this research underscore the necessity for support from all stakeholders in the food and beverage supply chain activities to ensure SMEs are resilient, agile, and adaptable in confronting dynamic environmental challenges.

Abstract

The rapid development of infrastructure in Surakarta has triggered high demand in the construction industry. Ongoing urbanization and rapid population growth are key drivers, creating the need for housing projects, public facilities, and improvements in transportation infrastructure. Despite the rapid economic growth and infrastructure development in Indonesia, particularly in Surakarta, significant progress has been made in the construction sector. However, increased demand has also brought about intense competition, especially in Design and Build projects. This research specifically aims to understand the processes related to the formation of expectations and customer satisfaction in Design and Build construction projects in Surakarta. The research methodology employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach, and data is obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data sources include relevant parties involved in the use of Design and Build construction services in Surakarta, Indonesia. Descriptive data analysis is used to present the data in a descriptive manner. The findings of this research indicate that the pre-purchase stage in construction services involves needs identification, information search, and alternative evaluation. Risk analysis, especially in functional, financial, temporal, physical, psychological, social, and sensory dimensions, is crucial in the decision-making process for potential users of construction services.
