Abstract

Research Originality: This study offers a novel contribution by integrating micro-level spatial comparison and behavioral analysis. Unlike previous studies that highlight income or education as key drivers, this research finds that structural factors have a stronger influence on energy-saving behavior. Research Objectives: This study aims to examine household energy consumption patterns and identify the socioeconomic and structural determinants of energy-saving behavior in urban and rural settings. Research Methods: A mixed-methods approach is employed. Qualitative analysis using ATLAS.ti explores household energy-use practices and perceptions, while binary logit regression is applied to identify factors influencing energy-efficient behavior. Empirical Results: The results indicate significant differences in energy consumption between urban and rural households. Urban households tend to consume more energy due to lifestyle characteristics and appliance ownership. Regression results show that household size, dwelling area, installed electrical capacity, and residential location significantly affect the likelihood of adopting energy-saving behavior. Rural households exhibit a higher propensity for energy-efficient practices, mainly due to limited electricity access and reliance on traditional energy sources. Implications: Energy policies should incorporate spatial and socioeconomic dimensions, reduce subsidy-induced price distortions, and promote incentives for energy-efficient behavior and renewable energy adoption. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between fish consumption patterns and stunting in toddlers in Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The study design uses a cross-sectional approach with cluster sampling techniques in two areas with the highest (Patuk 1) and lowest (Purwosari) prevalence of stunting. The total sample consisted of 309 toddlers aged 6–59 months, comprising 201 respondents in Patuk 1 and 108 in Purwosari. Independent variables included fish consumption frequency, portion size, fish type, and sociodemographic factors such as family income, maternal education, number of children, infectious diseases, sanitation, and area of residence. Data analysis was performed using logistic regression with Stata 14 software to identify factors significantly associated with stunting. The results showed that fish type was significantly associated with stunting, while frequency and portion size of consumption were not significantly associated. Other factors significantly associated with stunting were the mother's education level, number of children, and history of infectious diseases. Meanwhile, income, area of residence, and sanitation did not show a significant relationship. These findings confirm that the quality of fish consumed by toddlers has a greater impact on the risk of stunting than the frequency or portion size of consumption. Maternal education and child health are key protective factors. The results of this study are expected to form the basis for policies to increase consumption of nutritious fish and family nutrition education as strategies for preventing stunting based on local foods

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Climate change has emerged as a global concern in the 21st century, posing a significant threat to ecosystems and human populations. The impact of climate change on coastal tourism sectors is expected to be substantial, particularly given that roughly 50% of global tourism is concentrated in coastal regions. Environmental change presents a fundamental challenge for coastal tourism planners, necessitating the application of a model framework to manage and promote sustainable development in the face of climate change. This study focuses on the application of such a framework in the Mandalika Region of Indonesia, with the primary objective being the assessment of vulnerability, key criteria, and potential solutions for coastal tourism issues in the area. The research draws on both primary sources, such as interviews with expert specialists, and secondary data through a comprehensive literature review. The research methodology utilizes the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) within the context of Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) software for coastal tourism hazard management, enabling decision-makers to evaluate and prioritize vulnerability and hazard criteria and sub-criteria according to a set of preferences, criteria, and alternatives. The study also outlines a range of policy designs applied in the Mandalika Region to determine key sustainable weights from criteria and sub-criteria, with findings indicating that human activities carry the greatest weight as a criterion influencing tourism vulnerability in the Mandalika Region. The sub-criteria related to road construction are factors that influence tourism vulnerability in the Mandalika coastal area. Furthermore, the alternative that is chosen as a response to vulnerability solutions is persistent adaptation action. Therefore, it is hoped that this research will be able to overcome the problem of vulnerability due to climate change, especially in the tourism sector through the synergy of all actors involved through policy recommendations.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze economic development imbalances in various districts/cities in Papua and the determinants of poverty levels by applying Klassen's typology and panel data regression. The results of mapping using Klassen's typology indicate that most districts/cities in Papua are located in Quadrant IV (relatively underdeveloped areas) with lower average per capita income and economic growth compared to the provincial average. This situation is generally experienced by isolated mountainous and coastal areas that face problems in terms of infrastructure, accessibility, and dependence on traditional primary sectors. Meanwhile, panel data regression analysis using the Fixed Effect Model reveals that per capita income and income inequality (Gini Ratio) contribute positively and significantly to an increase in poverty rates. Conversely, the Human Development Index (HDI) has a negative and significant influence, indicating that improvements in the quality of education, health, and living standards can help reduce poverty rates. Meanwhile, economic growth and the open unemployment rate (Unemp) do not show a significant impact in explaining poverty variations. These findings indicate that Papua's development strategy needs to focus on strengthening the HDI and more equitable distribution of development outcomes so that economic growth can have a more inclusive impact

Abstract

This research examined Covid-19 from the perspective of legal and health protection by regional governments. Generally, regional governments are at the front line in protecting communities in this autonomy era due to their constitutional obligations. Data also shows that the creative economy actors in the micro, small, and medium business sector constitute over 90% of the workforce, necessitating their protection. This research used empirical-juridical research with an interdisciplinary approach examined the legislation and the community's reality. A Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted with relevant stakeholders and creative economy business actors in Surakarta, Bandung, and Madiun cities. Furthermore, concepts of legal, health, and economic theories were reviewed to formulate a regional government policy draft regarding these business actors during the Covid-19 emergency. The results showed an existing form of legal protection regulation related to health and the economy at the national level. However, three big cities (Bandung, Madiun, and Surakarta) representing three provinces  as research objects are yet to provide regional regulations concerning protection for creative economy actors, though the local government has encouraged an increase in their activities
