Abstract

This study is a descriptive qualitative research that examines the Implementation of the Elderly Health Service Program at the Rantau Subdistrict Community Health Center (Puskesmas), Aceh Tamiang Regency. The focus of this research is to analyze the program's mechanism, its implementation, and the obstacles faced in providing elderly health services. This study employs Grindle's theory of policy implementation, which emphasizes that the success of implementation is influenced by the content of the policy and the context of its implementation. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed by combining field findings with the theoretical framework. The results show that the elderly health program at the Rantau Subdistrict Puskesmas has been implemented through planning, organizing, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation, which are realized in activities such as the Elderly Clinic (Poli Lansia), Elderly Integrated Service Post (Posyandu Lansia), elderly gymnastics, health counseling, and home visits. The program implementation has followed the guidelines and increased elderly participation; however, it remains limited to basic health services. The main obstacles in implementation include a shortage of medical personnel, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, limited accessibility for elderly in remote areas, and suboptimal cross-sectoral coordination. Based on these findings, this research recommends strengthening the implementation mechanism through data-based planning, capacity building for health workers and elderly health cadres, provision of more complete health facilities and infrastructure, and the establishment of cross-sectoral coordination forums. Furthermore, the role of families and communities needs to be enhanced to support the sustainability of elderly health services.

Abstract

Background: Inclusive education increasingly demands collaborative approaches that extend beyond schools to involve families and communities. Learners with diverse needs often face academic, social, and emotional barriers that cannot be addressed through institution-centered strategies alone. Objective: This study aims to examine collaborative models for inclusive education, focusing on the role of communities in supporting learners with diverse needs and strengthening inclusive learning environments. Methods: The research employed a qualitative-dominant design integrating descriptive statistics and case-based analysis. Data were collected from teachers, school leaders, parents, and community representatives through interviews, observations, document analysis, and secondary institutional data. Inferential analysis was used to examine relationships between community collaboration and learner support outcomes. Results: The findings indicate that structured community collaboration significantly enhances learner participation, perceived inclusiveness, and access to support services. Strong partnerships characterized by shared decision-making, trust, and contextual responsiveness were associated with more effective inclusive practices. Case evidence further illustrates that community involvement contributes to learner confidence and classroom inclusivity. Conclusion: The study concludes that inclusive education is most effective when communities function as active partners rather than peripheral supporters. Collaborative models provide a sustainable framework for addressing learner diversity and advancing educational equity across diverse educational contexts globally today.

Abstract

Background. In recent years, storytelling has gained recognition as a powerful pedagogical approach that supports reflective learning, self-expression, and identity formation. Purpose. This study sought to explore how classroom storytelling projects facilitate students’ reflective engagement and contribute to the construction of personal and academic identities in higher education contexts. Method. Using a qualitative narrative inquiry design, data were collected from 24 university students and 3 lecturers through semi-structured interviews, reflective journals, and storytelling artifacts. The data were analyzed thematically to examine patterns of self-expression, transformation, and relational meaning-making. Results. The findings indicate that storytelling practices enabled students to articulate personal experiences in relation to academic content, enhancing self-awareness, empathy, and communicative confidence. Narrative engagement also fostered emotional literacy and a stronger sense of belonging, transforming the classroom into a dialogic and ethically grounded learning space. Conclusion. The study concludes that narrative pedagogy humanizes the learning process by integrating reflection, identity construction, and ethical understanding. Storytelling emerges as a vital pedagogical practice for cultivating holistic education that supports intellectual, emotional, and social development.
