Abstract

The low concern for the environment after the pandemic period which gradually ended, especially when learning in Higher Education has been carried out face-to-face. There are indications of an increasing amount of litter and an acute sense of indifference. This study determines the influence and effectiveness of the application of Microsoft whiteboard-assisted environmental mathematics on students' environmental care attitudes. The research population is pre-service elementary school teachers in semester 4 who took part in geometry and measurement courses in elementary schools and the research sample was 69 pre-service elementary school teachers in semester 4 in the course with a simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques use environmental care questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses paired sample t test and N-gain. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the value of t count = 10.197 > t table = 2.201, so there is an influence of the influence of the application of Microsoft whiteboard assisted environmental mathematics on students' environmental care attitudes and an N-gain value of 56% is got, so the application of Microsoft whiteboard-assisted environmental mathematics is quite effective in improving student environmental care attitudes. Keywords: math environment, Microsoft whiteboard, care environment. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i2.pp486-495

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model PBL berbasis etnomatematika terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain One-Group Pretest Posttest.  Subyek penelitian terdiri dari 29 peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Wirun 04. Teknik  sampling  menggunakan sampling jenuh sehingga sampel dan populasi sama. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi.  Kelayakan instrumen di uji menggunakan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Analisis data meliputi  uji normalitas, uji  paired sample t-test, dan uji n-gain.  Hasil uji normalitas menyatakan data terdistribusi normal. Hasil uji paired sample t-test diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000  < 0,05, dan thitung> ttabel (13,792 > 1,701), menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan nilai rata-rata sehingga model PBL berbasis etnomatematika berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Hasil uji n-gain menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika sebesar 57,2, ditafsirkan cukup efektif.  Sehingga, disimpulkan bahwa model PBL berbasis etnomatematika cukup efektif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas V SD Negeri Wirun 04.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah, Etnomatematika, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah, Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the skimming technique to the reading comprehension of mathematical word problems among Class V A students at SD Negeri Bibisluhur I. The main focus of this research is to examine how the skimming technique is implemented and to what extent it can improve students' understanding in solving mathematical word problems. This research employed a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, documentation, and interviews with the principal, homeroom teacher, and students. The research subjects consisted of five students out of a total of twenty-four students in Class V A. The results showed that the application of the skimming technique helped students identify important information in the problems, such as key words and relevant numbers. Students were able to understand what was known and what was being asked more quickly, which led to more structured problem-solving steps. Additionally, this technique improved reading efficiency and reduced errors caused by irrelevant information. Although some students in the lower category were not yet fully accurate in solving the problems, they still demonstrated initial development in understanding the structure of the questions. Overall, the skimming technique had a positive impact on students' reading comprehension and problem-solving abilities in mathematical word problems.

Abstract

The board game “Snakes and Ladders” has been explored as a learning tool to help fourth-grade students at SD Kestalan, Surakarta, better understand fraction operations during the 2024–2025 academic year. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental One Group Pre-test and Post-test design, involving 25 students selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected using tests, observations, and documentation, then analyzed with the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, paired-sample t-test, and N-Gain calculation. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ understanding, with the average score increasing from 58.00 in the pre-test to 79.20 in the post-test. The paired-sample t-test confirmed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (significance = 0.000 < 0.05; t = -18.196). The effectiveness of the game was also supported by an N-Gain value of 0.612 (61.20%). These findings suggest that educational games like Snakes and Ladders can make learning more engaging and enjoyable while enhancing motivation and conceptual understanding. Such media offer a creative alternative for teachers to teach fractions, turning lessons into interactive and meaningful experiences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak dari papan pintar matematika (Papinka) terhadap kemampuan menghitung siswa, khususnya dalam materi penjumlahan, dengan mempertimbangkan kemampuan awal siswa kelas 1 di SDN Cengklik Surakarta. Media papan pintar matematika merupakan alat yang dirancang dalam bentuk papan untuk mencapaikan informasi dan merangsang minat serta pemikiran siswa dalam proses pembelajaran terutama dalam bidang matematika. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimental awal yang disebut one group pretest posttest desain. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari seluruh siswa di kelas 1B dan 1C di SDN Cengklik Surakarta titik proses pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling titik instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mencangkup tes untuk hasil belajar, yaitu pretest dan post test. Analisis data menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dalam nilai rata-rata hasil belajar setelah penggunaan media papan pintar matematika titik hasil uji statistik menggunakan ankova menunjukkan nilai probabilitas sebesar 0,001 < 0,05, diperoleh hasil bahwa penggunaan media papan pintar matematika memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan diperoleh nilai rata-rata posttest tercatat sebesar 86.51, mengalami kenaikan sebesar 13.92 poin dari nilai rata-rata pretest sebelumnya, yaitu 72.59. Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara hasil belajar pretest dan posttest .

Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of a problem-based learning model on thenumeracy skills of second-grade students at SD Negeri Kestalan, Surakarta. Theresearch was prompted by the persistent issue of low arithmetic abilities among students in the 21st century. Using a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design, the study involved 25 students as its subjects. Data was collected through tests, observations, and documentation, using instrumentsthat had been previously validated for their validity, reliability, discrimination power,and difficulty level. The data analysis, which included the Shapiro Wilk test, PairedSample T-Test, and N-Gain test, revealed that this learning model was quiteeffective in improving students' arithmetic skills, specifically in mixed operations.This finding is supported by a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) in the hypothesistesting and an N-Gain percentage of 65.6762%, which signifies a notableimprovement following the intervention. In conclusion, the implementation of theproblem-based learning model proved to be effective in boosting the arithmetic skillsof second-grade students in the specified subject matter.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model based on Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) and its influence on the critical thinking skills of second-grade students at SD Negeri Laweyan Surakarta. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving three second-grade students as research subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, with data obtained from both primary and secondary sources. The validity of the data was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. Data analysis was carried out through several stages: data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the TPACK-based PBL model can foster students’ critical thinking skills in solving problems related to two-dimensional shapes, although the overall level remained moderate. Students in the high category demonstrated accurate understanding and problem solving, while those in the moderate category were able to answer correctly though only on certain types of questions. Students in the low category experienced difficulties in understanding and solving problems. Several obstacles identified during the implementation process included limited instructional time, differences in students' cognitive abilities, and difficulties in recalling and expressing the material that had been learned.
