Abstract

Keempat isolat memiliki daya hambat diatas 50%.

Abstract

Maneke is one of the local wisdom in Sangihe Islands Regency, inherited from the ancestors of the people of Sangihe. Maneke contains the norms and values of life and customs to keep the mutual relationship between humans and nature. This local wisdom, however, has gradually become extinct. The aim of the research was to describe the Maneke as a local wisdom in Sangihe Islands. Sangihe Island Regency is one of a cluster of islands located in North Sulawesi province with 150 islands, 26 inhabited and 79 uninhabited islands. There are two islands on the cluster of uninhabited islands located in two Districts in Sangihe. The focus of this research is done on the Batunderang Island in the Sub-district of South Manganitu and Para Island in the District of Tatoareng. This study used a qualitative approach to the design ethnography emphasizes the natural setting to see, learn, express and understand how to observe, and observations with in-depth interviews and conduct focus group discussions with community members, traditional leaders, public figures, figures from religious leaders and members of the implementation group of Maneke. Maneke is a socio-cultural system that has a socio-cultural elements contained in the components of the superstructure ideology, social structure and infrastructure material. Maneke is the component of the superstructure ideology because it has cultural values and norms into view, knowledge, activity and behavior patterns which are actualized in the traditions, customs, rituals beliefs or religion. Keywords: local knowledge, Maneke, marine tourism, Sangihe Island.

Abstract

Improving the productivity of shallots (Allium cepa var. aggregatum) has become one of the main priorities in supporting food security and increasing farmers’ income in Probolinggo Regency, East Java. This study aims to optimize shallot cultivation through an integrated assistance and education approach, as well as the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices. The methods used include Focus Group Discussions (FGD), biological agent training, compost-making training, and field monitoring of practice implementation. The results of the community engagement program indicate that the major challenges faced by farmers are pest and disease attacks, limited access to environmentally friendly cultivation technologies, and the Impacts of climate change. Training on the use of biological agents and organic compost utilization significantly improved farmers’ understanding of pest and disease management and soil health conservation. This assistance program strengthened farmers’ technical capacity in adopting sustainable farming systems and contributed to increased productivity and local economic welfare. These findings highlight the importance of integrating biotechnological innovations and organic-based soil management in the development of sustainable shallot cultivation.

Abstract

Using decomposers of fungi to increase the composting process is very necessary. The research aims to determine the potential of Trichoderma sp. Gorontalo local isolate as a decomposer of maize stover. The research was carried out from November 2022‒January 2023 at the Biological Agents Laboratory, Agricultural Plant Protection Center, Gorontalo Province Agricultural Department. This research determined the ability of six isolates of Trichoderma, namely TZ11DI1 (T. asperellum), TZ21BN2 (T. breviconvenctum), TZ21BT1 (T. virens), TZ12PO1 (T. ghanence), TZ21DU1 (T. reesei), TZ21LU1 (T. dorothopsis), and control (EM4) to produce cellulase and as a maize stover decomposer. The parameters observed were the clear zone in the isolate growing media as well as the physical and chemical characteristics of the compost produced. The results showed that Trichoderma isolates produced cellulase and potential as a decomposer for maize stover, as indicated by the ability to increase NPK nutrient levels and reduce the C/N ratio of maize stover compost. Keywords: compost, decomposer, maize stover, Trichoderma
