Abstract

The studys goals are: 1) to represent the appliance of Discovery Learning model in developing reading comprehension skills; 2) to developing reading comprehension skills with the Discovery Learning model. Classroom Action Research (CAR) is a type of qualitative research. Each cycle contains the stages of devising, application, research, and consideration. The subjects were 17 fourth grade students, consisting of 10 male scholars and 7 female scholars, and teachers. The data assortment systems used were observation, interviews, documentation, and tests with source and technique triangulation validity tests. The Miles and Huberman model was used for data analysis. The conclusions showed that students' reading comprehension skills at pre-action reach an average of 37.7 with 7.7% classical completions. Cycle 1 reach an average of 70.4 with 62.5% classical completions. Cycle 2 obtained an average of 87 and 100% classical completions. Based on the fact, it can be achieved that fourth grade students reading comprehension skills of SD Negeri Banaran 04 Grogol, Sukoharjo in the 2023/2024 can advance by using Discovery Learning model.

Abstract

The Training on Integrating Traditional Games into Learning for Indonesian Elementary School Teachers in Bangkok aims to help teachers recognize and incorporate Indonesian traditional games into their educational curricula. Traditional games, which carry cultural and educational values, are often overlooked in modern education. This training is designed to enable teachers to use games such as congklak, engklek, and rope skipping to enhance students' motor skills, cooperation, and understanding of mathematics and culture. The training method includes theoretical introduction, game demonstrations, and practical workshops, with effectiveness evaluated through questionnaires and group discussions. The results indicate that teachers feel more confident and capable of integrating traditional games into their teaching, while students exhibit increased engagement and motivation. Challenges such as curriculum adjustment and time constraints can be addressed with additional support. This training positively contributes to cultural preservation and provides a more varied learning experience in international schools. Recommendations include developing further training modules and providing ongoing support for greater effectiveness.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by Flashcard media on scientific thinking skills in science learning for grade IV students of Indonesiaku Kaya Budaya. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research type. The research sample consisted of 3 schools, namely SD Negeri Wonokerso 1, SD Negeri Wonokerso 2 and SD Negeri Wonokerso 3. Sampling was carried out using the cluster random sampling technique. The research design used a pretest posttest control group design. Data collection was carried out using essay test techniques to measure students' scientific thinking skills and observation to obtain information on the implementation of the problem based learning model. The validity test technique used Aiken V validity and instrument trials on grade IV students of SD Negeri Wonokerso 2. Data analysis used inferential analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate a positive and significant effect of the application of the problem based learning (PBL) model on students' scientific thinking skills. The results of the hypothesis test using the t-test obtained an asymp.sig value of 0.007 or less than the significance level of 0.05. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning (PBL) model assisted by Flashcard media has a positive and significant effect on students' scientific thinking skills.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a serious problem in Indonesia because plastic cannot be decomposed naturally and can have a negative impact on the environment and public health. Then the 3R principle is applied, namely Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. This socialization activity will focus on the principle of Recycle (recycling) through ecobrick in the village of Shoulder RT 04 RW 07 Jati, Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency. Ecobrick itself is a creative effort to manage plastic waste into useful objects that have use value and sale value, reducing pollution and toxins caused by plastic waste. Making ecobrick does not require special skills and only requires a lot of money because it uses household waste plastic as the main material. The purpose of holding the socialization in Pundak Village RT 04 RW 07, Jati, Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency is to overcome plastic waste and provide an understanding of how to recycle plastic waste using the ecobrick method. The methods used in this ecobrick socialization are questionnaires, lectures, and demonstrations. The result of this socialization is a decrease in the amount of untreated plastic waste which is related to the greater awareness of residents in the Village of Pundak RT 04 RW 07, Jati, Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency in waste management.

Abstract

Indonesia is the second largest country that produces plastic waste in the world. Plastic waste is decomposed in about 1000 years. Plastic waste has a negative impact on the environment, such as the accumulation of garbage, which causes environmental pollution. Correct steps are needed to overcome these problems. One of the right strategies to overcome this problem is by using the 5R method, namely Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace, and Replant which we should apply in dealing with plastic waste. However, not all areas have waste disposal facilities. Especially nowadays a landfill is a necessity, for that we need a landfill. The solution to this problem is the manufacture of ecobrick products, in which these products can be made easily with makeshift tools and materials. The purpose of this socialization is to increase public awareness, especially in the Malangan Hamlet area, RT 04, Kalimacan, Kalijambe, Sragen Regency regarding ecobrick products as a step to care for the environment. The method used is counseling in the form of lectures and demonstrations. The results obtained are that people can understand the importance of maintaining cleanliness and environmental health by sorting waste properly, and are able to provide ecobrick products in the form of shoe containers, both as personal and community needs. Ecobrick has a positive impact on society by reducing plastic waste and turning it into a livelihood opportunity.
