Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is caused by the liver not being able to control LDL in the blood vessels, this condition will cause atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. Sterols and flavonoids are content that found in cucumbers which can lower cholesterol by replacing sterols with LDL which will be absorbed in the digestive system. The LDL will be excreted in the form of feces with the help of flavonoids And quercetin is a content found in red onions that can reduce cholesterol levels in the blood by inhibiting the HMG Co-A reductase enzyme. Yankestrad is a program at the Babakan Public Health Center include the use of medicinal plants (TOGA) such as cucumbers and red onions. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of cucumber and red onions consumption on reducing cholesterol levels in patients in the Babakan Health Center work area through the Yankestrad program. Abstract

Songgak is a concoction of the Sasak tribe of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara. It consists of coffee mixed with groundwood, cloves, black pepper, coriander, and nutmeg. The original recipe involves roasting the spices before mixing them with coffee, namely using a frying pan over a stove. The roasting process is carried out without controlling the temperature and roasting time, so the roasted ingredients need to be standardized(Dewi et  al., 2021). GCMS is a tool used to analyze compounds in samples using chemical separation methods, mainly chromatography. The compounds in the mixture are separated in a chromatographic column. The separation mechanism between several compounds occurs due to differences in the solubility values of each in the moving solvent and differences in the absorption of each of the competing compounds into the stationary phase (Gross, 2017). In this research, variations will be carried out on spices, namely T1 original treatment of roasting spices over fire for 8 minutes, T2 drying spices in sunlight, T3 oven for 5 minutes, T5 oven for 5 minutes, T4 oven for 15 minutes and T5 oven for 15 minutes. In the T4 treatment, namely oven for 10 minutes, the results of the analysis of the substance content with the most types, namely 20 types, were obtained. The active anti-microbial compound found in all treatments was Hexadecanoic acid, 2-hydroxy-1-(h)(C19 H38 O4) BM:330, which helps inhibit the growth of cancer cells. (National Library Medicine, n.d.). Octadecanoic acid (CAS) Stear (C18 H34 O2) BM:282 Anti-inflammatory, Antiandrogenic Cancer prevention, Hypocholesterolemia Dermatigenic, 5-Alpha reductase inhibitor, Anemiagenic, Insecticide (Natarajan et al., 2019) and Tetradecanoic acid (CAS) Myris (C14 H28 O2) BM:228 as anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive.

Abstract

Abstract

Pulmonary TB cases in Indonesia are the second highest in the world. The incidence of Anemia in pulmonary TB patients can be as high as 90%. Anemia can lead to poor outcomes in the recovery of pulmonary TB. Songgak coffee is a coffee with a mixture of spices that is commonly consumed by the people of Central Lombok to make the body healthy and increase vitality, including pulmonary TB patients. Songgak coffee is made from 7 types of spices mixed with coffee. The results of previous research show that Songgak coffee has quite good antioxidant content and is an immunostimulant. Antioxidants may increase Hemoglobin levels. This was a case-control study. A total of 26 new pulmonary TB patients were divided into 2 groups. Group A received songgak coffee as an additional anti-TB drug, while group B received anti-TB drug therapy alone. Hemoglobin levels in groups A and B were measured before drug administration and 14 days after treatment. The data collected were nominal data, reported as increasing and non-increasing. A total of 12 out of 13 patients in group A had an increase in Hemoglobin, while only 1 person in group B had an increase in Hemoglobin. The odds ratio value for increasing Hemoglobin levels in pulmonary TB patients who consume songgak is 12. The odds ratio value for increasing Hemoglobin in pulmonary TB patients taking songgak is 12. The odds ratio value for increasing Hemoglobin levels in pulmonary TB patients who take Songgak is 12 times higher than in pulmonary TB patients who do not take Songgak.
