Abstract

Mathematics is closely related to human activities and can be found in everyday life, including traditional food production. Mathematics learning becomes more meaningful when linked to contextual objects familiar to students, such as regional specialty foods. This study aims to identify and analyze mathematical concepts in making cireng isi, a traditional West Javanese food, to integrate them into mathematics learning. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach. Data were collected through observations at the production site, interviews with cireng isi makers, and documentation of the production process. The findings indicate that the making of cireng isi involves the application of social arithmetic concepts in pricing and plane geometry concepts in its physical shapes, including circles, semicircles, trapezoids, rectangles, triangles, and kites. The study concludes that traditional food can serve as an effective learning medium for understanding mathematical concepts contextually. This study contributes to education by providing an alternative ethnomathematical-based approach that enhances student engagement and strengthens their comprehension of mathematical concepts through local culture.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of animated video and Padlet as learning media in improving elementary school students' writing skills. The research employs a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative analyses. The study was conducted with 33 fifth-grade students at SDN Jatiwarna 2, Bekasi, using a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test evaluations. The results indicate that both media positively impact students' writing abilities; however, Padlet is more effective in enhancing students' engagement, creativity, and collaboration. Students who utilized Padlet demonstrated better writing structures, improved idea development, and slot deposit 5000 higher motivation due to interactive peer feedback. Meanwhile, animated video effectively increased students' understanding of writing steps but lacked interactive elements. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two media, with Padlet achieving higher effectiveness. These findings suggest that integrating Padlet into writing instruction can foster a more interactive and engaging learning environment, ultimately improving students' writing proficiency.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that involves abstract concepts, which often poses difficulties for students in understanding the material. One solution to address these challenges is to connect mathematical concepts to students' everyday lives. Sumedang Tofu is a traditional food that is already familiar to students. The abstract mathematical concepts can be understood contextually through the production of Sumedang Tofu. This study aims to explore the mathematical concepts involved in the production of Sumedang Tofu that can be utilized in contextual learning. The research method employed is qualitative descriptive with an ethnographic approach. The research instruments consist of observation sheets, interview guidelines, and documentation sheets. Data collection techniques include direct observation at the Sumedang Tofu production site, interviews with Sumedang Tofu craftsmen, and photographs of the tools used in the production process. The collected data were analyzed using triangulation. The results indicate that in the production of Sumedang Tofu, there are concepts of flat shapes, such as squares and rectangles, as well as three-dimensional shapes, including cubes, rectangular prisms, and open-top cylinders. Additionally, concepts of division, proportionality, and congruence are also present. Sumedang Tofu can serve as a medium for contextual learning in teaching these mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Kinerja guru merupakan faktor utama dalam menentukan kualitas pendidikan di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara literasi digital, efikasi diri, dan kinerja guru di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Gugus 4 dan Gugus 8, Kecamatan Bogor Barat, Kota Bogor. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan korelasional untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh literasi digital dan efikasi diri terhadap kinerja guru. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 100 guru yang dipilih menggunakan teknik proporsional random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket dan penilaian kinerja guru, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif, analisis korelasi, dan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi digital memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan kinerja guru dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,467 (p < 0,05), yang menunjukkan tingkat hubungan sedang. Efikasi diri juga memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan kinerja guru dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,588 (p < 0,05), yang menunjukkan tingkat hubungan sedang. Analisis regresi berganda menunjukkan bahwa literasi digital dan efikasi diri secara simultan memiliki hubungan kuat dengan kinerja guru (R = 0,629, p < 0,05). Model regresi yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan literasi digital sebesar satu satuan akan meningkatkan kinerja guru sebesar 0,072 satuan, sementara peningkatan efikasi diri sebesar satu satuan akan meningkatkan kinerja guru sebesar 0,101 satuan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa literasi digital dan efikasi diri merupakan faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. Analisis demografi menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara variabel penelitian bervariasi berdasarkan usia, masa kerja, dan status sertifikasi. Guru dengan masa kerja 11–15 tahun menunjukkan korelasi lebih kuat antara literasi digital dan kinerja, sedangkan guru yang belum bersertifikasi memiliki hubungan lebih kuat antara efikasi diri dan kinerja guru. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan bagi pemangku kebijakan dan lembaga pendidikan dalam merancang program pengembangan profesional yang berfokus pada peningkatan literasi digital dan efikasi diri guna meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study investigatesd the challenges of online mathematics education in Indonesian elementary schools during the COVID-19 pandemic, which exposed critical limitations in digital learning delivery. The research aimed to identify the most difficult mathematical topics to teach online, explore the effectiveness of digital tools used by teachers, and provide strategic recommendations. Using a cross-sectional survey method, the study involved elementary school teachers from various regions in Indonesia. Data were collected via a structured questionnaire containing both closed- and open-ended items, then analysed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The findings showed that mathematics was the most challenging subject to teach online due to difficulties in demonstrating abstract concepts like geometry, fractions, and 3D figures. Teachers also faced obstacles in student engagement, timely feedback, and access to interactive teaching media. Video conferencing tools were most frequently used, followed by learning management systems and messaging apps. The study concluded that online mathematics learning required substantial improvement in terms of instructional design and teacher support. It was recommended that policymakers and schools invest in developing interactive, media-rich learning resources and provide training programs to enhance teacher readiness for future online or blended learning environments.

Abstract

This qualitative study investigates elementary school teachers’ conceptual understanding and instructional strategies for teaching division, with a focus on Bruner’s stages of representation—enactive, iconic, and symbolic. Data were collected from 32 Indonesian teachers through open-ended prompts exploring their interpretations of division and classroom practices. Findings reveal a predominant reliance on procedural models, particularly repeated subtraction, with limited use of conceptual models like equal grouping or inverse multiplication. While many teachers employ concrete strategies, few demonstrate coherent transitions to visual and symbolic representations, resulting in fragmented instruction. The analysis also highlights inconsistencies between teachers' conceptual models and instructional methods, underscoring gaps in pedagogical content knowledge. By integrating frequency tables and case comparisons, the study identifies the need for professional development that supports representational fluency and conceptual alignment. Bruner’s framework is proposed as a guide to scaffold instruction that supports diverse learners and fosters deeper mathematical understanding. Implications for teacher education and curriculum design are discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Word of Mouth, Direct Marketing, and Digital Marketing on Brand Awareness through Event Marketing as a mediating variable. The research employs a quantitative approach with survey methods involving 505 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that all paths in the model are statistically significant. Word of Mouth, Direct Marketing, and Digital Marketing each have a significant direct effect on Event Marketing and Brand Awareness. Moreover, Event Marketing significantly mediates the relationship between the three independent variables and Brand Awareness. These results highlight the importance of integrating communication strategies to effectively build brand awareness through interactive and experiential channels.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki kemampuan penalaran analogis santri dalam geometri dan mengidentifikasi kesulitan dan hambatan mereka. Penulis mendeskripsikan bagaimana kemampuan analogis dalam pemahaman konsep geometri, kemampuan penalaran analogis dalam teorema dan sifat, dan kemampunan penalaran analogis dalam masalah geometri. Penelitian ini merupakan bagian dari pengembangan bahan ajar geometri untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran analogis santri. Adapun metode penelitiannya menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dalam materi teorema Pythagoras, aturan kosinus, dan teorema garis tinggi segitiga yang melibatkan 80 santri di sebuah Pondok Pesantren di Bandung, Indonesia. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kemampuan penalaran analogis santri berada di kategori rendah dan cukup. Berdasarkan hasil tes dan wawancara menunjukkan santri kesulitan menuliskan persamaan Pythagoras berdasarkan gambar segitiga siku-siku dalam berbagai konteks, menuliskan persamaan kosinus berdasarkan definisi verbal dan gambar, melukis segitiga siku-siku berdasarkan persamaan Pythagoras, melakukan penalaran analogis antara teorema Pythagoras dan aturan kosinus, dan melakukan penalaran analogis berdasarkan teorema. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini berupa kesulitan-kesulitan dan kelemahan-kelemahan santri dalam kemampuan penalaran analogis yang akan menjadi landasan untuk mengembangan bahan ajar geometri. This study aims to investigate the analogical reasoning ability of santri in geometry and identify their difficulties and constraints. The author describes how analogical reasoning in understanding the concepts of geometry, analogical reasoning in theorems and properties, and the use of analogical reasoning in geometry problems. This research is part of the development of geometry teaching materials to improve the analogical reasoning ability of santri. The research method uses qualitative research in the material of Pythagoras theorem, the law of cosine, and triangle altitude theorem that involves 80 santri at a Pondok Pesantren in Bandung, Indonesia. The results of this study found that the santri's analogical reasoning abilities were in the low and sufficient category. Based on the results of the tests and interviews it is difficult for students to write Pythagoras equations based on right triangle images in various contexts, writing cosine equations based on verbal definitions and drawings, painting right triangles based on Pythagoras equations, analogical reasoning between Pythagorean theorem and cosine rules; doing analogical reasoning based on the theorem. The recommendation of this research is the difficulties and weaknesses of santri in analogical reasoning ability that will be the basis for developing geometry teaching materials.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Means End Analysis (MEA) lebih baik dari pada konvensional, untuk mengetahui sikap kemandirian belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika menggunakan model pembelajaran Means End Analysis (MEA), dan untuk mengetahui hambatan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Metode penelitiannya adalah eksperimen kuasi dan desain penelitiannya Nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA PASUNDAN CIKALONGKULON dengan sampel sebanyak dua kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Kelas XI MIPA-3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA-1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, angket dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Means End Analysis (MEA) lebih baik dari konvensional. Hasil angket siswa kelas XI MIPA-3 memperoleh hasil hampir seluruhnya positif respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran Means End Analysis (MEA). The purpose of this research is to find out whether the improvement of students 'mathematical problem-solving abilities using the Means-End Analysis (MEA) learning model is better than conventional learning, to determine the attitudes of students' learning independence towards mathematics learning using the Means-End Analysis (MEA) learning model, and to find out the obstacles of students in solving problems mathematical problem-solving abilities. The research method is a quasi-experiment, and the research design is Nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMA PASUNDAN CIKALONGKULON with a sample of two classes. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling technique. Class XI MIPA-3 as an experimental class and class XI MIPA-1 as a control class. The instruments were in the form of tests of mathematical problem-solving abilities, questionnaires, and interviews. Based on the results of data analysis, the improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities using the Means-End Analysis (MEA) learning model is better than conventional. The results of the XI MIPA-3 class questionnaire obtained almost entirely positive student responses to the Means-End Analysis (MEA) learning model.

Abstract

Perlu dikembangkan model pembelajaran matematika di pesantren yang dikaitkan dengan permasalahan yang sesuai dengan situasi di pondok pesantren, misalnya terkait dengan fiqh. Penelitian ini menggunakan Design Didactical Research (DDR). Pengembangan desain didaktis ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Theory of Didactical Situation (TDS). Pembelajaran matematika di pesantren dirancang sebagai berikut: pembacaan ayat suci Al-Qur'an dan Hadits terkait materi pembelajaran matematika; materi dan tujuan pembelajaran yang terkait dengan ilmu keislaman; dan memberikan gambaran tentang manfaat mempelajari materi yang akan dipelajari dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, terutama ketika nantinya menjadi kader ulama. Pengembangan desain didaktis didasarkan pada teori situasi didaktis, yaitu: Situasi Devolusi, santri diberikan tantangan untuk menyelesaikan masalah zakat dan waris; Situasi Matematis, santri yang belum mampu menyelesaikan tantangan utama dibimbing melalui soal, tabel, dan petunjuk. Demikian pula santri yang sudah memiliki tebakan pemecahan masalah terus melakukan langkah-langkah untuk menguji keabsahan asumsi tersebut dengan menjawab beberapa pertanyaan, memperhatikan tabel, dan melaksanakan instruksi; Situasi Kelembagaan, santri membuat kesimpulan dengan bimbingan guru tentang poin-poin penting. It is necessary to develop a mathematics learning model in pesantren that is associated with problems that are following the situation in the Islamic boarding school, for example, related to fiqh. This study used Design Didactical Research (DDR). The development of this didactic design was carried out using the Theory of Didactical Situation (TDS). The learning mathematics in pesantren is designed as follows: reading of the holy verses of Al-Qur'an and Hadith related to mathematics learning materials; the material and learning objectives associated with Islamic knowledge; and giving an overview of the benefits of studying the material to be studied in everyday life, especially when later becoming a cadre of the ulama. Didactic design development is based on the theory of didactic situation, namely: In the case of Devolution, santri are given the challenge of solving zakat and inheritance problems; in Mathematical Situations, santri who have not been able to complete the main difficulties are guided through questions, tables, and instructions. Likewise, santri, who already has problem-solving guesses, continues to test the validity of these assumptions by answering several questions, paying attention to tables, and carrying out instructions; 3) Situation of Institutionalization, santri makes conclusions with teacher guidance about essential points.
