Abstract

Community Service Activities (PkM) carried out in Labuan Regency aim to improve the ability of elementary schools to develop STEAM learning evaluation tools based on local culture. The main target audience of this training activity is elementary school teachers in the Labuan Banten sub-district. Based on the identification of the problem, it is known that elementary school teachers in Labuhan lack training in the development of evaluation tools, especially in STEAM learning. As a teacher, the ability to develop evaluation tools is needed to see student development. The target to be achieved in the implementation of this PKM is to increase the knowledge and skills of elementary school teachers in developing STEAM learning evaluation tools based on local culture. The method of implementing this community service activity is to use a training method that is packaged into two activities, namely seminars and workshops. The training activity began with a one-day seminar with an offline method to provide material on the scope of local culture-based STEAM learning evaluation tools, furthermore, the teachers trained themselves to develop evaluation tools with assistance from the PKM Team through online methods. The output of this service activity is a local culture-based STEAM learning evaluation tool developed by teachers and scientific publications. The results of this PkM are 3 packages of evaluation tools.

Abstract

Assessment is a critical subsystem in the overall learning process. However, teachers still face challenges in developing assessments, particularly those that align with Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The results of a needs analysis indicated that teachers at the partner schools require urgent training and guidance in creating both formative and summative assessment instruments. The Community Service Program (PkM) was conducted at SD Negeri Marga Mulya VI, Bekasi City. The PkM activities were based on the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach and consisted of six stages. The outcomes of this PkM activity include: (1) the successful implementation of training and assistance in the development of assessment instruments, enabling teachers to understand and create assessment tools; (2) the creation of assessment instruments by teachers, which can now be utilized in the learning process; and (3) positive responses from teachers, who reported that the PkM activities significantly benefited them in preparing and applying assessments in teaching. The outcomes of this PkM initiative can be further followed up through discussions and dissemination within the school's Learning Community to deepen understanding.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has constrained face-to-face learning. Minister of Education and Research Nadiem Makarim designed an independent curriculum as an effort to overcome learning constraints. This is in accordance with Ki Hadjar Dewantara's concept of education which is based on freedom of learning. This study aims to analyze and describe teacher preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the management of the learning process of rounding numbers using anwar board media as an application of the independent learning curriculum for grade IV elementary school students. This research is a qualitative research. The type of research used is a case study approach to describe the research results and find a comprehensive picture of the application of the independent curriculum in learning to round numbers using the Anwar board media. The data validity test was carried out using the triangulation technique. The results of this study state that first, the implementation of learning to round numbers using Anwar board media as an application of the independent learning curriculum for grade IV students consists of the planning stage, initial assessment of learning, and implementation of learning, second, the evaluation of the management of the learning process of rounding numbers using Anwar board media as an application of the independent learning curriculum is aimed at knowing the learning progress of students and making adjustments to learning methods.

Abstract

Matematika adalah mata pelajaran yang umum dipelajari oleh siswa di sekolah dasar, sekolah menengah, dan perguruan tinggi. Namun, matematika tetap dianggap sebagai pelajaran yang sulit bagi siswa. Studi ini menyelidiki bagaimana permainan tradisional New Damdaman berbasis etnomatematika dapat meningkatkan pemahaman matematis siswa. Keterampilan matematika awal (KAM) siswa dinilai dari tiga sudut pandang (tinggi, sedang, dan rendah). Pengujian juga dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan pemahaman dan efikasi diri matematis berhubungan satu sama lain. Studi ini menggunakan desain eksperimen semu, yang melibatkan dua desain kelompok: satu untuk kelompok eksperimen dan satu lagi untuk kelompok kontrol. Siswa SMP kelas VIII di SMP N 3 Kalimanah adalah subjek penelitian. Uji hipotesis menggunakan ANOVA, uji t-independent, dan korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang dididik melalui pendekatan berbasis etnomatematika yang menggunakan permainan tradisional New Damdaman lebih memahami konsep matematika dibandingkan dengan siswa di kelas kontrol yang diajarkan metode konvensional. Dilihat dari kategori kemampuan awal matematika, terlihat bahwa siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika dan permainan tradisional New Damdaman meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang konsep matematika. Pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika dan pembelajaran konvensional memiliki tingkat efikasi diri matematis yang berbeda. Siswa memiliki korelasi yang positif antara pemahaman mereka tentang konsep matematis dan tingkat efikasi diri mereka. Abstract

Matematika memegang peran penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas manusia Indonesia, tetapi dengan kemajuan IPTEK dan tuntutan era digital, paradigma pembelajaran matematika harus disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan abad ke-21. Studi ini juga mengkaji keterlibatan siswa dan guru selama instruksi LKS berbasis PBM. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) dengan pendekatan Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang terintegrasi dengan konteks lokal dan kurikulum. Peningkatan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah matematika melalui PBL dengan metodologi R&D, dengan memanfaatkan model 4-D, penelitian ini berfokus pada tahap pengembangan. Pengambilan sampel melibatkan satu kelas kelas 11 di SMA N 1 Mamasa selama tahun akademik 2023/2024, menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKS yang dikembangkan melalui pendekatan PBM dianggap valid dan cocok untuk penilaian. Uji kelayakan menunjukkan tingkat implementasi sebesar 81,67%, dengan respon siswa secara keseluruhan sangat baik. Selain itu, penilaian efektivitas menunjukkan bahwa 73% siswa memenuhi kriteria kecakapan dalam berpikir kritis, sementara 84,85% memenuhi kriteria dalam keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Temuan ini menguatkan efektivitas LKS berbasis PBM dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam matematika. Studi ini menegaskan pentingnya mengintegrasikan pendekatan PBM ke dalam pendidikan matematika untuk meningkatkan perkembangan kognitif.

Abstract

Guru diwajibkan untuk membuat karya ilmiah dan publikasi khususnya Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Guru-guru SD belum banyak mendapatkan pelatihan tentang pembuatan artikel karya ilmiah. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahap, yaitu 1) perencanaan yang dilakukan melalui diskusi awal dengan mitra sehingga diketahui bahwa yang paling dibutuhkan  guru adalah pelatihan PTK dan Penulisan Karya ilmiah; 2) pelaksanaan yang dilakukan dalam 4 kali pertemuan yang diisi dengan penyampaian materi, diskusi, dan pendamping oleh fasilitator; 3) evaluasi dilakukan oleh LPPM dan tim PkM dengan melihat target dan hasil yang diperoleh, hasil PkM ini melampuai target. Peserta yang terdaftar di awal kegiatan PkM adalah 25 peserta dan peserta yang dapat menyelesaikan artikelnya adalah 10 peserta atau 40%. Adapun yang sudah di-submit ke jurnal dan mendapatkan LoA adalah 2 artikel atau 20%. Hasil ini melampaui target awal 6 artikel atau 167%.

Abstract

Computational thinking is an essential 21st-century skill that remains low among elementary school students, particularly in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning on the topic of changes in the state of matter. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of an educational game entitled The Adventure of Wunda as an interactive learning medium. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The instruments included expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test assessments of computational thinking skills. The results showed that the game was valid according to experts, received “practical–very practical” responses from students, and effectively improved computational thinking skills, as indicated by a high N-Gain score and a significant difference based on the Wilcoxon test. Therefore, The Adventure of Wunda is feasible and effective for IPAS learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving ability of elementary school students, especially when facing non-routine problems that require complex reasoning. The integration of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and Computational Thinking (CT) is seen as an approach capable of presenting contextual learning while stimulating systematic thinking processes. This research uses a quantitative method with a Quasi-Experimental Non-Equivalent Control Group Design involving fifth-grade students from two elementary schools in Prambon District. The experimental group received RME learning integrated with CT, while the control group received direct learning. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, and self-efficacy questionnaires, then analyzed using a two-way ANOVA to examine the effect of the learning model, self-efficacy, and the interaction between the two. The results showed that the RME-CT model significantly improved mathematical problem-solving ability compared to conventional learning, with higher score increases in the experimental group. In addition, self-efficacy was shown to moderate learning effectiveness, where students with high self-efficacy achieved better results. There was a significant interaction between learning models and self-efficacy on learning outcomes. This research contributes to offering an innovative approach that combines realistic contexts and computational thinking as an effective strategy to improve elementary school students' mathematical competence and self-confidence.

Abstract

This study analyzes strategies to reconstruct learning experiences in elementary schools, focusing on character development and the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) to mitigate learning loss. Conducted in Bogor, Jakarta, and Banyumas, this research used a phenomenological approach to explore participants' lived experiences, aligning with the study’s focus on personal insights into learning loss impacts. Purposive sampling selected participants, including teachers, principals, and two students from each of five schools, chosen for their direct engagement in character education and P5 activities. Data were collected via interviews, observations, and documentation, with credibility validated through triangulation. Findings reveal that learning loss impacts are significant and multifaceted, including declines in motivation, increased learning disparities, dropout risks, delays in reading, and decreases in academic performance and character. Effective character development was identified as involving positive reinforcement, a character-centered school culture, teacher modeling, and habitual practices. The P5 project, implemented through a project-based learning model, effectively integrated Pancasila values, fostering essential character traits such as perseverance, hard work, and adaptability alongside academic skills. The results highlight the P5 project's role in addressing learning loss by enhancing both academic and character growth. This approach provides practical insights for schools aiming to strengthen student resilience and adaptability. The study concludes that character development and P5 implementation can effectively reconstruct learning experiences in elementary education, supporting both academic recovery and character formation. These findings offer implications for educators and policymakers seeking comprehensive strategies to address learning loss in Indonesian schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh literasi digital dan minat belajar terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas 5 SD di Gugus 7 Kecamatan Cakung. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas 5 SD di Gugus 7 Kecamatan Cakung, dengan sampel sebanyak 156 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan data primer berupa angket literasi digital, angket minat belajar dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan regresi linier sederhana dan regresi berganda, dengan uji-t untuk pengaruh parsial dan uji F untuk pengaruh simultan. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa literasi digital berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan nilai t-hitung = 21,995 > t-tabel =1,65481 dan nilai signifikansi 0,001 < 0,05. Demikian pula minat belajar berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan nilai t-hitung = 19,773 > t-tabel = 1,65481 dan nilai signifikansi 0,001 < 0,05. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa semakin tinggi literasi digital dan minat belajar siswa, semakin baik pula kemampuan berpikir kritis yang dimiliki. Secara simultan, hasil uji F menunjukkan bahwa literasi digital dan minat belajar secara bersama-sama berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, dengan nilai F hitung = 360,490 > F tabel = 3,06 dan signifikansi <0,001. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah literasi digital berfungsi sebagai keterampilan dasar yang membantu siswa dalam mengakses, mengevaluasi, dan mengolah informasi, sementara minat belajar menjadi pendorong motivasional untuk memanfaatkan keterampilan tersebut secara optimal.
