Abstract

Working memory is a short-term memory that persists for seconds or minutes and can be stored in long-term memory. Murottal Qur'an is a recording of the recitation of the Qur'an, which is voiced by a Qori '(reader of the Qur'an) rhythmically. The recitation of the holy verses of the Qur'an by a Qori' is played through a zoom meeting by paying attention to recitation, which has a certain rhythm so it can stimulate activation in the brain area. This study aims to analyze the effect of the reciting Holy Qur'an on working memory in students of the Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University. An experimental study with a cross-sectional approach with one group pretest-posttest design was carried out from July to December 2020 through the Zoom meeting application. The pretest and posttest examinations used in this study were digit span examinations, in the form of tasks containing digits forward and digits backwards before and after receiving the audio of Al-Qur'an intervention for seven days at 22.00. The data were tested for normality by Shapiro-Wilk, then analyzed using the Paired t-test or Wilcoxon using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program. Forty-five students are the research subjects. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed significant results of reciting the Holy Qur'an on working memory (p= 0.000) in students of the Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University. Abstract

The World Health Organisation (WHO) defined low back pain (LBP) as pain or discomfort that is localized between the costal margin and above the inferior gluteal folds, with or without leg pain. In the world, it is estimated that the prevalence of LBP ranges from 1.4% to 20.0%. In 2013, around 24.7% of workers in Indonesia had experienced occupational diseases caused by low back pain. Based on the Riset Kesehatan Dasar (RKD) survey pada in 2018, 31.4% of Indonesians have used traditional medicine, with manual treatment skill, the type of traditional medicine effort, most widely used (65.3%) and one of it is cupping therapy. Cupping (therapy) also named Hijamah. Cupping therapy is one of the alternative medicines that uses vacuum cups on the cupping point of the skin surface. Although the mechanism of action of cupping therapy is still unclear, there are several reported effects of cupping therapy including increasing skin blood flow, changing skin biomechanical properties, increasing the pain threshold, increasing local anaerobic metabolism, reducing inflammation, and modulating the immune system. cellular. According to research conducted by Volpato et al. (2019) demonstrated the effectiveness of cupping therapy in reducing pain perception and improving function in individuals with low back pain.

Abstract

Viruses are one of the causes of infectious diseases that need to be watched out for. In the last 20 years, several viral diseases have caused epidemics such as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) in 2002-2003, influenza H1N1 in 2009 and Middle East Respiratory syndrome (MERS-CoV) which was first identified in Saudi Arabia in year 2012. On December 31, 2019, China reported a case of mysterious pneumonia of unknown cause. Within 3 days, the number of patients with these cases was 44 patients and continues to increase until now there are millions of cases. Initially, the epidemiological data showed that 66% of patients were related to or exposed to a seafood market or live market in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Samples of isolates from patients were studied with the results showing the presence of coronavirus infection, a new type of betacoronavirus, named 2019 novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). On February 11, 2020, the World Health Organization named the new virus SARS-CoV-2 and the disease name as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The corona virus is the main pathogen causing an outbreak of respiratory disease. On March 11, 2020, WHO announced that COVID-19 was becoming a pandemic in the world.

Abstract
