The variables in this study are poster media, videos, knowledge and attitudes. Data collection using questionnaires and data processing in the form of bivariate and univariate analysis. The test used in this study is the Wilcoxon test if the data is not normally distributed and the paired t-test if the data is normally distributed. Results: There is an effect of posters and videos on knowledge with a p-value of poster media (p-value=0.001) and video media (p-value=0.001). There is an effect of poster and video media on attitude with a p-value of poster media (p-value=0.049) and video media (p-value=0.041). Conclusion: Based on the results of the research that has been done, video media is more effective than poster media on knowledge and attitudes about the prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). Therefore, in order to use video media as a medium in conducting counseling about dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

Abstract

Smoking prevalence in Indonesia remains high, particularly among adolescents aged 15–19 years, making schools a strategic setting for tobacco control. This descriptive qualitative study explored KTR policy implementation using George C. Edward III’s framework of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 17 informants, including school principals, teachers, UKS supervisors, students, security officers, and canteen vendors. Implementation of the KTR policy was not yet optimal. Communication focused mainly on students and lacked explanation of the policy’s legal basis. Resource limitations included the absence of a dedicated KTR team, training, specific budget allocation, and evenly distributed information media. Disposition-related issues were reflected in continued smoking by some school personnel. Bureaucratic structure weaknesses included the absence of a specific SOP and formal KTR organizational structure. Strengthening institutional support, resources, supervision, and intersectoral coordination is essential to improve KTR implementation in schools.

Abstract

Background: Workplace accidents remain a major occupational health and safety concern, including at gas stations (SPBU), mainly due to unsafe behaviors and hazardous working conditions. Safety talks are an important OHS communication strategy to prevent workplace accidents. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of safety talks as an accident prevention effort at gas stations in Jambi City in 2026. Methods: A qualitative study with an analytical approach was conducted through in-depth interviews and observations involving eight informants, including managers, supervisors, and operators. Results: The findings indicated that safety talks were generally implemented effectively in terms of implementer qualifications, methods, types, and duration. Psychosocial factors, particularly work demands and coworker support, also influenced implementation effectiveness. Safety talks improved workers’ understanding of occupational hazards and promoted safer work practices. Conclusion: Safety talks contribute significantly to workplace accident prevention; however, greater consistency, supervision, and worker participation are needed to optimize their effectiveness.

Abstract

Abstract

According to WHO data from 2020, the number of smokers worldwide reached 22.3% of the global population aged over 15 years. Based on the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey, Jambi Province has a relatively high smoking rate, with daily smokers accounting for 16.8% of the population. This study is a quantitative research using a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of active male undergraduate students at the University of Jambi who were active smokers in semesters 2 to 8. A total of 379 respondents were selected using proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate methods. The prevalence of heavy smokers among students at the University of Jambi was 6.9%. A significant association was found between knowledge level and smoking behavior, with an odds ratio (OR) of 3.204 (95% CI: 1.31–7.81). Multivariate analysis revealed that knowledge was the most influential variable affecting smoking behavior, with an adjusted odds ratio (AOR) of 3.447 (95% CI: 1.357–8.757). This result was statistically significant (p-value = 0.011) after controlling for attitude and knowledge of smoke-free areas (Kawasan Tanpa Rokok, KTR). There is a significant relationship between knowledge and smoking behavior. However, there is no relationship between attitude, peer influence, and compliance with smoke-free regulations and conventional smoking behavior.

Abstract

Practicing Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) plays a crucial role effort to improve the health status of elementary school–aged children. However, the implementation of PHBS at Public Elementary School 111, Jambi City, is still relatively low, partly due to the limited availability of educational media that are attractive and easy for students to understand. This study aimed to develop PHBS educational media in the form of a pocket book and to analyze its feasibility as a health learning medium. This study utilized a Research and Development (R&D) approach following the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. During the development process, the product was validated by media experts, language experts, health promotion experts, and an institutional validator, as well as 19 fourth- and fifth-grade students of Public Elementary School 111 Jambi as participants. The results showed that the PHBS pocket book was considered feasible for use as a health education medium in elementary schools. This pocket book media is expected to increase students’ knowledge and awareness in implementing PHBS in the school environment.
