Abstract

This classroom action research was conducted to improve fourth-grade students’ understanding of the Pillars of Islam at SD Negeri No. 105408 Suka Makmur through the application of the role play method. The study was initiated based on initial observations indicating that students struggled to grasp the material due to monotonous teaching methods that lacked active student engagement. The research involved 30 students and was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection instruments included pretests and posttests to assess students’ understanding, observation sheets to monitor student participation, and documentation for recording classroom activities. In the first cycle, the implementation of role play increased student involvement, although some students lacked confidence and time for adequate preparation. The posttest results indicated that 70% of students had achieved the learning goals. To overcome these challenges, the second cycle included increased motivation, extended practice time, and more intensive guidance. As a result, student participation and understanding improved significantly, with 90% of students reaching mastery. Moreover, students became more confident, actively engaged, and able to convey the content effectively through their roles. The findings demonstrate that the role play method is effective in enhancing both cognitive understanding and classroom interaction. It not only supports comprehension of the Pillars of Islam but also nurtures student confidence, communication, collaboration, and enthusiasm in learning. Therefore, the role play method is recommended as an engaging and effective instructional approach for Islamic Religious Education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This classroom action research was driven by the low learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri No. 102013 Sialang Buah in the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Ethics, particularly on the topic of Faith in the Book of Allah. Initial observations revealed that most students struggled to understand the basic concepts and demonstrated low participation during lessons. To address this issue, the study aimed to improve student learning outcomes by applying the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model, which emphasizes student engagement through individual thinking, paired discussions, and group sharing. The research was conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. A total of 24 students participated in the study. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, teacher and student observation sheets, and documentation, and were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the implementation of the TPS model led to a notable improvement in student learning outcomes, evidenced by increased average test scores and a higher percentage of students achieving mastery from cycle I to cycle II. Additionally, student activity during lessons improved significantly, particularly in cognitive engagement and collaborative participation. These findings indicate that the TPS model is effective in enhancing understanding and fostering a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment. Consequently, it is recommended that the Think Pair Share model be adopted as an innovative and participatory approach in teaching Islamic Religious Education at the elementary level, especially for conceptual topics such as Faith in the Book of Allah.

General elections are indeed considered as a symbol as well as the main and first benchmark of democracy, the purpose of general elections is to carry out people's sovereignty and exercise citizens' human rights. The Presidential Threshold or parliamentary threshold has the potential to harm the rights of a Candidate Pair to be proposed by a Political Party or a Joint Election Contesting Political Party. The results of this study are: (1) Analysis of the Presidential Threshold Perspective of Law Number 7 of 2017, the Presidential Threshold changes to 20% of the number of seats in the DPR or 25% of valid votes nationally in the previous DPR member elections. The policy of continuing to apply the Presidential Threshold is to strengthen the presidential system, because it will force political parties to consolidate politics so that a coalition of political parties supporting the president appears, (2) Analysis of the Presidential Threshold from the Fiqh Siyasah Perspective, the concept of the Presidential Threshold in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections In general, it is not yet known in the study of Siyasah  Fiqh, especially in the process of succession of state leaders. Instead, there is a leadership election mechanism in two ways, namely the election or appointment is carried out by the ahlu al-hal wa al-'aqdi formation council and the appointment is carried out by nomination by the previous caliph.
