Abstract

The purpose of this research was to ascertain how self-efficacy affected students' desire to enrol in Universitas Ma'soem's MBKM program. 1539 Universitas Ma'soem students from the 2020–2023 academic year made up the population. Moreover, the Krejcie and Morgan table revealed that the sample size was 306 (19.88%). A questionnaire with five responses and a Likert scale model served as the research instrument. All the questionnaire's items are valid, and the questionnaire reliability test yielded calculated self-efficacy R-values of 0.761 and interest R-values of 0.760, which are higher than Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of 0.70, indicating the questionnaire's reliability. The SPSS application was utilized.

Abstract

Abstract

The Covid-19 virus that spreads very quickly causes everyone to have to practice social distancing and physical distancing to reduce its impact. The virus that has been endemic since the end of December 2019 has revolutionized the learning process held by every educational institution, including the learning process in universities. Previously, the learning process at universities was carried out face-to-face. When the covid-19 pandemic occurs, the learning process must of course continue to be carried out by minimizing the impact of covid-19 so that universities must be able to make changes quickly from face-to-face learning systems to online/online learning. Adopting online learning through the use of technology to continue to implement the Tri Dharma is one of the solutions chosen by each university so that the learning process can continue and the spread of the COVID-19 virus can be minimized. After covid-19 occurred and the new normal era began, the level of life gradually went on as before. Learning in higher education must of course be re-adjusted to existing conditions. Finally, blended learning is used as a solution to carry out the teaching and learning process in universities in the new normal era. Blended learning approach is believed to be one of the learning models that are considered more effective for learning in this new normal era. By continuing to use technology as a form of innovation in learning in the digitalization era, blended learning is also still carried out by continuing to prioritize the human touch side in its implementation where the face-to-face learning process with direct interaction certainly has its own advantages. Through the combination of the advantages of offline learning and online learning, blended learning appears as the best alternative in the higher education learning system so that learning is believed to be more meaningful and also supports independence in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the differences in learning interest between first-year and second-year undergraduate students in a higher education context. Learning interest is a crucial component of student engagement, encompassing emotional responses, attention, participation, and intrinsic motivation. The research employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive comparative design. A total of 301 students from Universitas Ma’soem were selected as respondents through stratified proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire based on four indicators of student interest and analyzed using JASP software. Descriptive analysis revealed that second-year students demonstrated higher levels of learning interest (M = 93.558, SD = 8.809) compared to first-year students (M = 90.844, SD = 7.572). The data for both groups were normally distributed, as confirmed by the Shapiro–Wilk test. The assumption of homogeneity of variances was met based on Levene’s Test. Further inferential analysis using one-way ANOVA indicated a significant difference in learning interest between the two groups, with F(1,299) = 8.238 and p = 0.004. The findings suggest that students’ learning interest tends to increase as they progress academically, likely due to greater familiarity with learning environments, improved self-regulation, and stronger academic identity. These results imply the need for tailored instructional strategies that consider students’ academic stage. Early interventions for first-year students may be essential to foster engagement, while more complex, autonomous learning experiences may be appropriate for second-year students. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of student engagement dynamics across different academic levels in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to produce Google SketchUp-based learning media products with a valid and practical Besemah Traditional House context to improve student learning outcomes in block material. The development model used is 4D, which consists of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. In the Develop stage, the research was conducted through three activities, namely One-to-One, Small Group, and Field Test. The research was conducted on eighth-grade junior high school students, totaling 18 students. This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in block material, which was caused by teacher-centered learning and the lack of learning media that supports visual and contextual understanding. Data was collected through interviews with teachers, validation questionnaires from experts (media, material, and language), practicality questionnaires from teachers and students, as well as pretest and posttest to measure student learning outcomes. Expert validation indicated a very high level of validity: 86.6% from media experts, 84% from content experts, and 92% from language experts, all categorized as highly valid. The validated media were then tested for practicality, achieving an average of 92.5% from teachers and 89.06% from students, both of whom categorized them as highly practical. Additionally, student learning outcomes showed improvement, with an average pretest score of 57.94 and a posttest score of 80.13. The N-Gain calculation yielded a score of 0.527, which falls into the moderate category. Based on these results, this educational media product is deemed valid, practical, and effective in improving students' learning outcomes on block-related material. Therefore, Google SketchUp-based educational media is worthy of consideration as an alternative in interactive and contextual mathematics learning processes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the cooperative learning model Talking Stick on students’ learning outcomes in the colloid topic among Grade XI students at MA NWDI Wakan. A quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design was employed. The sample consisted of 40 students from classes XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2. Data were analyzed using N-Gain analysis, normality testing, homogeneity testing (F-test), and hypothesis testing with an independent t-test. The hypothesis testing at a significance level of α = 0.05 yielded a t-value of 3.972, which exceeded the t-table value of 2.024, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of the Talking Stick cooperative learning model has a positive effect on students’ learning outcomes in the colloid topic.
