Abstract

This article discusses the application of the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) learning model and its impact on student learning outcomes. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of TEL in improving students' skills and understanding in vocational subjects. The method used was a quantitative research with an experimental design, involving two groups of students: one group using the TEL model and a control group applying traditional learning methods. Data was obtained through learning outcome tests, questionnaires, and observations. The results of the analysis showed that students who participated in learning with TEL had a significant improvement in learning outcomes compared to the control group. These findings indicate that the application of the TEL model can improve student motivation, engagement, and understanding, as well as provide recommendations for further integration of technology in the learning process. Thus, this research highlights the importance of innovation in learning methods to prepare students to face challenges in an increasingly digital world of work.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh variasi kampas kopling terhadap daya dan torsi pada sepeda motor matic. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan perlakuan pada sepeda motor Vario 150. Tiga variasi kampas kopling diuji: standar, merek Daytona, dan merek Proper. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan dynotest pada berbagai putaran mesin (rpm), dan hasilnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kampas kopling merek Proper memberikan peningkatan daya sebesar 4,68% dan peningkatan torsi sebesar 6,08% dibanding kampas kopling standar. Sedangkan merk Daytona malah membuat torsi turun -6.08% dan daya turun -5.28%. Kesimpulannya adalah kampas kopling merek Proper memberikan peningkatan daya dan torsi lebih baik dari pada kampas kopling standar dan merek Daytona pada Vario 150cc. Many matic motorcycle users like to replace the standard clutch lining with after market clutch lining to increase the torque and power of the vehicle. This study aims to analyze the effect of clutch lining variations on power and torque on automatic motorcycles. The research method used was an experiment with treatment on a Vario 150 motorcycle. Three variations of clutch lining were tested: standard, Daytona brand, and Proper brand. Tests were conducted using a dynotest at various engine speeds (rpm), and the results were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the Proper brand clutch lining provided a 4.68% increase in power and a 6.08% increase in torque compared to the standard clutch lining. These findings can serve as a guide for mechanics and automotive enthusiasts in improving the performance of matic motorcycles.

Abstract

Increased vehicle temperature during parking in the sun inconveniences the driver, passengers and can damage the interior of the vehicle, including the dashboard, seats and control panel. This study was conducted to test the temperature of the vehicle during parking in the sun. This study was to compare the test results on both treatments, namely avanza type G temperature 1.3 in 2010 and innova type G 2.0 in 2010. The data collection technique in this study was using thermocouple measuring instruments and data loggers. The results of this study indicate that the highest temperature increase obtained in the test was on the Avanza vehicle, and for the points with the highest temperature in the cabin, namely on sensor 1 and sensor 2. Peningkatan temperatur kendaraan selama parkir dibawah sinar matahari mengakibatkan ketidaknyamanan pengemudi, penumpang dan dapat merusak interior kendaraan, termasuk dashboard, kursi dan panel kendali. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian temperatur kendaraan selama parkir dibawah sinar matahari. Penelitian ini untuk membandingkan hasil pengujian pada kedua objek penelitian yaitu temperatur avanza tipe G 1.3 tahun 2010 dan innova tipe G 2.0 tahun 2010. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan alat ukur data logger yang dipasang pada empat titik dalam kabin kendaraan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan temperatur tertinggi yang didapatkan dalam pengujian yaitu pada kendaraan avanza, dan untuk titik dengan temperatur tertinggi didalam kabin yaitu pada sensor 1 dan sensor 2.

Abstract

The rising temperature of vehicles in parking lots under the sun is a major cause of poisoning caused by harmful gases in the blood, and the most toxic gas is ammonia (NH3). Exposure to high concentrations of ammonia gas can cause lung damage and death. This research aims to design and build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based vehicle temperature monitoring system using the DHT11 sensor. The DHT11 sensor is able to detect temperature and humidity in real-time with a sufficient level of accuracy, one of the main objectives in the acquisition of temperature data in the vehicle cabin is to improve passenger comfort. Temperatures that are too high or too low can reduce ride comfort. One of the main objectives in the acquisition of temperature data in the vehicle cabin is to improve passenger comfort. Temperatures that are too high or too low can reduce ride comfort. By monitoring and controlling the temperature in the cabin in real-time, the cooling (air conditioning) and heating systems can function more efficiently to maintain the optimal temperature.

Abstract

Replacement analysis is used to evaluate whether the currently used asset needs to be replaced with a newer and more economically efficient one. This study aims to determine the feasibility of replacing the official service vehicles at Universitas Negeri Padang from conventional vehicles to electric vehicles based on an economic analysis. Data on official service vehicles were collected from the facilities and infrastructure division of Universitas Negeri Padang, while data on electric vehicles were obtained through a literature review. Data processing was conducted using the Equivalent Uniform Annual Cost (EUAC) method. The results indicate that replacing the official service vehicles at Universitas Negeri Padang from conventional vehicles to electric vehicles is not yet feasible.

Abstract

Companies that own heavy equipment require regular maintenance. The amount of workload received by mechanic in the repair and maintenance section of heavy equipment units causes them to experience physical fatigue and frustration due to the workload and working hours being conducted outside of normal working hours. This study aims to determine the workload of mechanic at PT. Statika Mitrasarana. Data collection was carried out through direct observation of the mechanic, distribution of questionnaires, and interviews regarding the workload. The analysis of workload was conducted using the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA TLX) method. From the results of the mechanic workload, an overall average of 83.6 was obtained. The highest workload has an average of 92.66 and the lowest 65.33. On the most dominant indicator of workload the physical demands have an average of 348. The measurement findings can help management consider additional steps, such as reducing and redistributing the mechanic workload.

Abstract

Abstract: The digital era has transformed the learning paradigm in vocational high schools, particularly in the field of automotive engineering. Social media has now become an integral part of students' lives, which can affect their motivation and academic achievement. This study aims to analyze the impact of social media use on learning motivation and academic achievement of automotive engineering students in vocational high schools. Quantitative research with a causal-comparative design was conducted on 71 grade XI Light Vehicle Engineering students at SMKN 1 Padang. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and academic grade documentation. Data analysis used MANOVA with Hotelling's Trace test statistics to test simultaneous effects. The results showed that social media had a positive and significant effect on students' learning motivation (F = 31.004, p < 0.05), but did not significantly affect their academic achievement (F = 0.610, p > 0.05). Simultaneously, social media use did not show a significant effect on the combination of learning motivation and academic achievement (Hotelling's Trace = 8.880; F = 1.421; p = 0.223). While social media can increase automotive engineering students' motivation to learn, its impact on academic achievement is less than optimal. A more targeted strategy for utilizing social media and integrating it with the curriculum is needed to maximize its potential in supporting automotive engineering learning.Keywords: Social Media, Learning Motivation, Academic Achievement, Automotive Engineering, Vocational Education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menerapkan efektivitas sosialisasi K3 dan Kedisiplinan dalam praktek di SMK PGRI 2 Lahat. dalam tiga tahap yaitu pretest–sosialisai–posttest.penelitian ini, (1) mendeskripsikan K3 dalam pelaksaan praktek di  program keahlian teknik kendaraan ringan siswa kelas X SMK PGRI 2 Lahat sebelum menerapkan efektivitas  Sosialisasi K3, (2) mendeskripsikan K3 dalam pelaksaan praktek di  program keahlian teknik kendaraan ringan siswa kelas X SMK PGRI 2  Lahat setelah menerapkan efektivitas  Sosialisasi K3, (3) menjelaskan pengaruh efektivitas  Sosialisasi K3 siswa kelas X SMK PGRI 2 Lahat Pretest dan posttest. Metode penelitian deskriptif analisis. Hasil sosialisasi penelitian ini, Pertama sebelum/pretest, sosialisasi K3 berada pada kualifikasi Hampir cukup dengan rata-rata nilai 45,6172. Kedua, setelah/posttest berada pada kualifikasi Baik Sekali (BS) rata-rata 90,4891. Ketiga, uji-t hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima pada taraf signifikan 95% dan t-hitung(1,624 > 0,147).   This study applies the effectiveness of K3 socialization and Discipline in practice at SMK PGRI 2 Lahat. three stages pretest–socialization–posttest.  this study are, (1) to describe K3 in the implementation of practice in the light vehicle engineering expertise program of class X students of SMK PGRI 2 Lahat before implementing the effectiveness of K3 Socialization,(2) to describe K3 in the implementation practice in the vehicle engineering expertise program for students class X SMK PGRI 2 Lahat after implementing the effectiveness of K3 Socialization, (3) the effect of the effectiveness of K3 Socialization for students class X of SMK PGRI 2 Lahat Pretest and posttest. method descriptive analysis. Resultst this research socialization, First, before/pretest conducting K3 socialization are at the qualification Almost enough with an average score of 45.6172. Second, after/posttest is at an average 90.4891 Good (BS) qualifications. Third, the alternative hypothesis (H1) t-test is accepted at a significant level 95% and t-count (1.624 > 0.147).

Abstract

Effective education is crucial for instructing students to attain competencies aligned with the curriculum of their educational level. This study aims to assess the teaching profession and its correlation with teacher performance, professionalism, and teacher confidence in connection with student learning outcomes. This research was carried out on vocational educators in West Sumatra who have participated in the teacher professional education program. This research employs the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analytical technique. Data was gathered through purposive sampling from vocational educators in vocational high schools in West Sumatra. The findings indicated that teacher professional education (X1) exerts a significant direct influence on Teacher Performance in the Merdeka Curriculum (Z1), Professional Teachers in Indonesia (Z2), and Self-Confidence (Z3), in addition to Student Learning Outcomes (Y1). Notably, professional teachers have a substantial impact on the execution of the Merdeka Curriculum in contemporary vocational high schools, as evidenced by the largest path coefficient of the relationship between X1 and Z1 (0.558). Professional education for vocational high school teachers in West Sumatra has a significant effect on teacher professionalism, self-confidence and improving student learning outcomes, even though Indonesia is implementing a new curriculum, namely the Merdeka curriculum, teachers are still ready to be professional, confident to have an impact on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the influence of simulator trainer media on the learning outcomes of the motorcycle starter system compared to conventional lecture methods. Using a quantitative experiment method with a one group pretest-posttest design, the study involved 25 students in class XI TSM in the even semester of the 2024/2025 school year at SMKN 1 Bonjol. Data were collected through validated multiple-choice objective tests: 20 items for the pretest and 30 items for the posttest. Data analysis was conducted using the paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase from the average pretest of 68.8 to 83.28 in the posttest after the implementation of the simulator media trainer. The statistical test obtained a t-count of 9,438 > t-table of 2,064 with an influence rate of 21%, showing a significant difference in α = 0.05. It was concluded that the simulator trainer media can improve student learning outcomes on motorcycle starter system materials, providing a more concrete and interactive learning experience than conventional lecture methods.Keywords:  trainer simulator, learning outcomes, starter system, motorcycle, technical education.
