Abstract

From an Islamic perspective, the phenomenon of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) has become a controversial issue in social and religious studies. In Islamic history, LGBT behaviour is often associated with the story of the Prophet Luth people who were punished for their actions. On the other hand, modern human rights emphasise the im-portance of non-discrimination against LGBT people. This study examines hadiths related to LGBT and their relevance in the social and legal context in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative approach with a library research method, collecting data from primary sources such as prophetic traditions, and secondary sources such as books of interpretation, aca-demic journals, and scientific articles. The results show that the traditions related to LGBT have variations in Sanad and Matan, which shows differences in opinion regarding its validity among hadith scholars, causing differences in the interpretation of Islamic law. Many scholars classify LGBT behaviour as prohibited, although there are differences in the punishments given. The novelty of this research lies in the in-depth analysis of LGBT-related traditions by considering aspects of Islamic law and human rights in the Indonesian context. The academic implication of this study is that it provides new insights into the-matic hadith studies, particularly in response to contemporary social issues, particularly LGBT with Islamic law.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze law enforcement against lesbian and gay perpetrators in Palopo City through the perspective of Islamic law, by focusing on the basis of Islamic law that regulates homosexual behavior, law enforcement mechanisms, and social responses and challenges that arise in practice. This research was conducted to understand the principles of Islamic law applied in a modern context, especially in dealing with the issue of Lesbian and Gay in Palopo City. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, where data is collected through in-depth interviews with religious leaders, law enforcement officials, and Lesbian and Gay perpetrators, as well as analysis of Islamic legal documents and local regulations. The results of the study show that Islamic law expressly prohibits homosexual practices based on the postulates of the Qur'an and Hadith, but its implementation in Palopo City faces various obstacles, such as the lack of specific regulations, resistance from lesbian and gay perpetrators. In addition, the study reveals the tension between Islamic law enforcement and human rights, which poses a dilemma for both the government and society. This research is expected to be a consideration for policymakers and stakeholders in formulating more inclusive and equitable regulations.

Abstract

Jiwa (nafs) dalam pemikiran Islam merupakan konsep inti yang melampaui sekadar fungsi biologis. Artikel ini melakukan kajian kritis terhadap pemahaman tentang jiwa dalam tradisi Islam, menelusuri pendekatan filosofis, dan ilmiah. Melalui lensa kritik, artikel ini mendekonstruksi pandangan tradisional, menguji validitas argumen yang mendukungnya, dan mengeksplorasi implikasi teologis dan etis dari berbagai perspektif tentang jiwa. Perspektif teologis Islam menekankan keterkaitan jiwa dengan tubuh, sifat dan fungsi jiwa, serta takdir dan kehendak bebas. Perspektif filosofis Islam menawarkan model tripartit jiwa yang menjelaskan fungsi-fungsi biologis, emosional, dan intelektual jiwa. Filsafat Sufi memandang jiwa sebagai cerminan Tuhan dan berpotensi mencapai kesempurnaan melalui penyucian diri dan cinta ilahi. Kajian psikologi Islam berupaya mengintegrasikan prinsip-prinsip Al-Quran dan Hadis dengan ilmu psikologi modern. Ini dapat membantu memahami mekanisme dan motivasi perilaku manusia serta menawarkan strategi untuk pembinaan jiwa, pengelolaan emosi, dan peningkatan kesehatan mental.

Abstract

This study examines how the Maccera Manurung tradition in Labuku Village combines cultural practices with Islamic principles, focusing on its values. The primary goal of this study is to uncover and analyze the spiritual, social, and cultural values, specifically examining the impact on social cohesion and community structure. This study uses field research with descriptive qualitative models, considering normative, historical, phenomenological, and sociological perspectives. The findings reveal that Maccera Manurung functions as a mechanism to achieve social and spiritual well-being for the community by integrating Islamic values with local culture. This tradition maintains a balance between worldly and spiritual needs through rituals such as animal sacrifices following Islamic guidelines, visiting graves, and engaging in prayers. The people of Labuku preserve their cultural identity by participating in annual rituals, maintaining traditional customs, and upholding ancestral practices, which strengthen social solidarity and reinforce spiritual and moral values. Maccera Manurung emphasizes simplicity, self-control, and responsibility, serving as a means to draw closer to Allah and enhance the spiritual character of the community

Abstract

This research aims to understand the development of hadith studies at DDI Mangkoso Islamic boarding school in Barru Regency from time to time as well as the methods used in studying hadith at the Islamic boarding school. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with socio-historical approach and hadith science. The results of this study indicate that the study of hadith at DDI Mangkoso Islamic Boarding School began when the boarding school was founded by Abdurrahman Ambo Dalle in 1938. This can be seen from the teaching of Ambo Dalle’s book entitled “al-Nukhbah al-Mardiyyah fi al-Hadis al-Nabawiyyah.” Under the leadership of Amberi Said, the study of hadith continued to grow with the introduction of an additional learning system by Faried Wadjedy. Since 1985, under the leadership of Faried Wadjedy, the study of hadith in Mangkoso has flourished with the addition of hadith books, competent and experienced teachers. The method of teaching hadith at the DDI Mangkoso Islamic Boarding School includes two methods: mappangolo kitta’ (sorogan) and ngaji tudang (bandongan), and for the method of reading the book using two methods as well, namely the thematic (maudu’i) method and the khatam kitab method and finally in understanding hadith using two methods as well, namely textual and contextual methods.

Abstract

Bullying in education is a despicable act and is prohibited by Islam because it can hurt the victim physically and mentally. The meaning of Bullying is an act of threatening, scaring bodily or spiritually against someone due to one’s superiority attitude, so that they feel entitled or powerful to intimidate others. This study examines Bullying from the perspective of the Prophetic Hadith on the phenomenon of Bullying. This study seeks to find the significance of the phenomenon of Bullying with the hadith and the relevance of exploring the preventive measures offered by the hadith of the Prophet. The method used is descriptive-analytical. The results of this research are: 1) The Hadith narrated by Ibn Majah generally explains how the Prophet’s Hadith views Bullying as leading to degrading behavior. The word ihtiqar has a meaning correlation to the orientation of Bullying behavior, namely degrading, Hadith narrated by Sahih Muslim is also about degrading other people’s behavior, and Hadith Bukhari about one’s life and honor must be protected, respected and guarded; 2) the normative relevance of the phenomenon of Bullying is the prohibition of mutual envy, hatred, oppression, neglect and contempt for other Muslims, the prohibition of degrading others which can be the root of the division of Muslims, and no one has the right to kill, insult, damage and injure others without reasons justified by Islamic law.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education is an important and inseparable part of the educational curriculum in Indonesia. Besides being an obligation for its adherents, Islamic learning can instill the values of faith and make students possess noble morals (akhlakul karimah). This study aims to examine and discuss how the implementation process of Islamic education in instilling noble morals in students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Islamic Junior High School). This study uses a qualitative approach with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing as the data analysis. The sample of this study was the principal of the madrasah, vice-principal, students, and teachers of Islamic education in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Makassar. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that through the implementation of Islamic Religious Education, the students could possess noble characters. There are eight behaviors that are applied to instill the noble characters, namely habituating the smiles, salaam, and greetings, mutual respect (tolerance), sunnah fasting on Monday and Thursday, performing the Duha prayer, performing dhuhr prayers, reciting the Quran, congregational prayer, and getting used to alms giving (infaq). These eight commendable behaviors are recommended for teachers and principals to be applied in their respective schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas metodologi penyusunan kitab hadis yang terbagi menjadi dua kategori utama, yaitu kitab al-Hadits al-Ushuli (kitab sumber) dan kitab al-Hadits al-Buhutsi (kitab kajian). Kitab Ushuli meliputi lima tipe utama: Musannaf/Muwaththa’, yang disusun berdasarkan klasifikasi hukum Islam; Musnad, yang diurutkan berdasarkan nama sahabat periwayat hadis; Jami’, yang mencakup berbagai aspek ajaran Islam secara tematik; Sunan, yang disusun berdasarkan bab-bab fikih dan memuat hadis hukum; serta Ajza’/Juz’, yang menghimpun hadis berdasarkan perawi tertentu atau tema khusus. Sementara itu, kitab Buhutsi merupakan pengembangan dari kitab Ushuli yang difokuskan pada analisis, pengembangan dan penggabungan hadis dari berbagai sumber. Tipe-tipe kitab ini meliputi: Jawami’, yang menghimpun berbagai bab ajaran agama secara luas; Mustadrak, yang menyertakan hadis sahih yang tidak tercantum dalam kitab sebelumnya; Athraf, yang memuat potongan matan hadis dan sanadnya; Syarh/Ta’liq, yang berupa penjelasan dan catatan atas hadis; Mu’jam, yang disusun berdasarkan nama guru atau perawi secara alfabetis; Mustakhraj, yang menyusun ulang hadis dari kitab sebelumnya dengan sanad berbeda; dan Zawa’id, yang menghimpun hadis tambahan dari kitab-kitab yang telah ada. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ragam metodologi tersebut mencerminkan upaya sistematis ulama dalam menjaga, mengklasifikasikan, dan mengembangkan ilmu hadis dari masa ke masa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas dua cabang ilmu, diaantaranya yaitu Ilmu Rijalul Hadis dan Ilmu Jarh wa Ta’dil yang memainkan peran penting dalam menilai keabsahan hadis melalui analisis terhadap perawi dan sanadnya. Ilmu Rijalul Hadis secara khusus membahas biografi dan karakteristik para perawi hadis dari berbagai generasi, mencakup aspek integritas moral, keilmuan, serta jaringan periwayatan. Sementara itu, Ilmu Jarh wa Ta’dil berfungsi sebagai metode kritik dan validasi dengan menggunakan istilah tertentu untuk menilai apakah seorang perawi dapat diterima atau ditolak riwayatnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research), yang bersumber dari Alquran, hadis, buku, dan jurnal ilmiah terkait. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengungkap urgensi dan fungsi strategis kedua ilmu tersebut dalam studi hadis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ilmu Rijalul Hadis dan Jarh wa Ta’dil tidak hanya membantu mengidentifikasi keaslian hadis dan membedakan antara hadis sahih dan palsu, tetapi juga menjadi sarana penyelesaian perbedaan pendapat serta memperkuat pemahaman umat terhadap ajaran Islam. Dengan demikian, keduanya menjadi fondasi kritis dalam disiplin Ilmu Hadis dan penting untuk membahas lebih dalam sehingga dapat dikuasai oleh setiap peneliti dan pemerhati hadis demi menjamin keabsahan ajaran yang diwariskan Rasulullah SAW. Oleh karena itu, penguasaan terhadap Ilmu Rijalul Hadis dan Jarh wa Ta’dil menjadi keharusan bagi siapa pun yang ingin memahami dan meneliti hadis secara komprehensif, demi menjaga kemurnian ajaran Islam dari berbagai bentuk penyimpangan dan manipulasi historis.
