Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in building the character of students. Quran-based education has a positive influence on the spiritual and emotional development of children. Memorizing the Quran is a program introduced to produce a Hafidz, someone who preserves the memorization of the Quran. Maintaining this memorization requires the virtue of Istiqomah, which is one of the noble virtues. Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) is one of the Islamic boarding schools that prioritizes the Quran Memorization Program and has produced many Hafidz. This research is conducted using a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include unstructured interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through data transcription. The results of this research show that the Quran Memorization Program at MBS consists of Tahsin (Quranic pronunciation improvement) and Tahfidz (Quran memorization). Tahsin aims to improve Quranic recitation, while Tahfidz requires students to memorize one Juz (section) of the Quran within a year. Religious values are consistently incorporated into the Tahfidz program, which helps train discipline and obedience, fostering the virtue of Istiqomah. The Quran, with its numerous teachings on noble character traits, plays a significant role in this process. Additionally, guidance from the teachers and the students' growing spiritual awareness while delving deeper into the Quran contribute to their success.Supporting factors in achieving the program's goals include students' strong determination, a tranquil and comfortable geographical environment. However, there are also hindering factors, such as the lack of integration between the Tahfidz curriculum and the regular school curriculum, diverse student backgrounds, and time constraints due to the intensive schedule of the Islamic boarding school and general education priorities.

Abstract

Junior high school students are entering a transitional age or puberty which causes them to be in a state of needing recognition and searching for identity so that they are very vulnerable to environmental influences. This causes the risk of juvenile delinquency. PAI (islamic religion) teachers have a very important role to provide religious and spiritual guidance for students to build character and morals. This research was conducted at SMPN 5 Sidoarjo. The method used is qualitative with a naturalistic positivistic approach with data collection techniques through interviews, documentation and literature review. The results of this study are that the form of juvenile delinquency in SMPN 5 Sidoarjo students is classified as low delinquency. PAI teachers have contributed and played a major role in handling student delinquency, namely carrying out spiritual guidance programs on a scheduled basis. The supporting factors are students with Islamic religion being the majority and the inhibiting factors are carelessness in supervision and differences in student character.

Abstract

Inclusive education is an educational framework that seeks to ensure fair access to education for all individuals, including children with special needs, one of which is deaf children. This research was motivated by the difficulties of deaf children at SLBN Juwetkenongo in communicating with other people. The causes include physical barriers (unable to grasp information clearly) and language barriers (children's ignorance and lack of understanding of sign language vocabulary). This research aims to determine shadow teachers' strategies in overcoming communication difficulties for deaf children at SLBN Juwetkenongo. This research is classified as qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach because it relies mostly on data obtained from observations and interviews with individuals. The research was carried out on May 17 2024 at SLBN Juwetkenongo involving the main informants as grade 4 shadow teachers. The results of this research found that the strategies possessed by shadow teachers to overcome the communication difficulties of deaf children include the following: 1) Letter recognition method, 2) Introduction method through pictures, 3) Outdoor learning methods.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) in developing critical thinking skills among high school students in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) classes. The research employed a library research method following Amir Hamzah’s stages: planning, data collection, source selection and evaluation, and narrative synthesis. Articles were retrieved from Google Scholar and Crossref with inclusion criteria of 2021–2025 publication years, focus on Kurikulum Merdeka at the senior high school/vocational level, and discussion of critical thinking in PAI. Analysis of 16 selected studies indicates that strategies such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), project-based learning (P5), constructivism, differentiation, self-instruction, and guided inquiry effectively enhance students’ abilities to interpret religious texts, evaluate arguments, and connect Islamic teachings with contemporary issues. Advantages include flexible learning, active participation, and integration of religious values with 21st-century skills, while challenges involve teacher competence, limited project time, and contextual learning resources

Abstract

Tujuan pendalaman ini merupakan untuk menganalisis implementasi silabus merdeka belajar dalam pengkajian agama islam ( PAI ) pada jenjang sekolah menengah pertama ( SMP ). Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar ( KMB ) yaitu upaya pemerintah untuk meroformasikan pembelajaran di indonesia dengan membagikan kelonggaran kepada sekolah untuk meningkatkan kurikulum yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik. Pendalaman ini memakai cara pendalaman kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, data disatukan melewati pengamatan, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terkait kurikulum dan pembelajaran. Responden penelitian ini terdiri dari pengajar pengkajian agama islam ( PAI ) di sekolah menengah pertama ( SMP ) Islam Sidoarjo yang mengimplementasikan silabus merdeka belajar. Hasil penyelidikan membagikan bahwa ini program silabus merdeka belajar untuk studi agama islam ( PAI ) di sekolah menengah pertama ( SMP ) Islam Sidoarjo mempunyai beberapa keuntungan. Pertama, pengajar dapat menyesuaikan taktik pengkajian dengan gaya belajar siswa, sehingga mengembangkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman mereka. Kedua, pengajar dapat memilih bahan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa serta keadaan setempat, mengembangkan makna pendidikan. Ketiga, pengajar mempunyai kebebasan untuk menilai kemajuan peserta didik dengan menggunakan cara penilaian yang sesuai dengan sifat dan kebutuhan siswa.

Abstract

Learning innovation has become a serious problem after the arrival of the Covid 19 pandemic. This happened because of the restrictions on social activities as a whole, including in the education sector. Education during the Covid 19 pandemic forced teachers to make various innovations in the design of learning materials so that students could receive learning well. Including the subject of Islamic Religious Education, it also requires innovative teaching materials so that it can be more interesting in learning to students. As is the case with fiqh material, the chapter on Hajj and Umrah will be more attractive to students if collaborated with innovative teaching material designs. In this case the author tries to collaborate the fiqh material on the chapter of Hajj and Umrah with the Canva editing application. So that the delivery of fiqh material on the chapter of Hajj and Umrah will be in the form of a semi-application. So that the delivery of teacher material will not only be verbal but also by utilizing multimedia-based teaching material design. This research is a development research (Research and Development (R&D)) with the aim to explore information about the development of the object of research and improve its development. The research procedure uses the ADDIE model which includes four stages; Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. A canva application can increase the effectiveness of religious learning, ensuring that students not only understand important material in Islam, but also feel engaged and motivated.

Abstract

Learning the Qur'an which is taught is often only through the lecture method without any supporting media which in turn has an impact on reducing student understanding. In this regard, SD Muhammadiyah 5 Porong has developed a media poster which aims to increase students' understanding of the interpretation of surah al-Ma'un relating to prayer. The focus of this research is on the development of poster media and its application in surah al-Ma'un material. This research uses research and development (R&D) method. This research was conducted at the elementary school level to conduct product trials and the application of the resulting media, namely in the form of posters on the importance of prayer after going through the validation stages. The data obtained in testing on a small scale with 6 student respondents fall into the eligible category. While the large-scale product trials involving 15 students, in total 97% of students said yes (Y) were interested in poster media when asked, while only 3% of students said they were not (T) interested in the very qualified category. This shows that the application of poster learning media to learning to interpret the interpretation of the Al-Qur'an juz 30 in the resulting surah al-Ma'un is categorized as very effective to apply to learning.

Abstract

Several aspects of life are currently undergoing transformations due to the rapid advancement of communication technology, and one such aspect is entertainment, specifically online games. The primary purpose of online games is to provide amusement to individuals and prevent them from experiencing boredom after completing routine tasks. However, individuals become addicted to online games primarily due to the intense gameplay, particularly among teenage groups. Even excessive online games has negative consequences, including social inequality such as timelessness and a decline in manners. This study aimed to examine the correlation between online games and the social behavior of high school students in the Bangil District. This study employed a quantitative method utilizing an analytical survey. The sampling technique employed was purposive sampling, conducted in several coffee shops within the Bangil District, with a sample size of 50 respondents. The findings of this study revealed a negative impact of online games on the social behavior of high school students, as indicated by the equation Y = 5.066 + 0.848X, demonstrating a significant influence. The correlation between X and Y is 0.774, indicating a negative relationship between the variables. The remaining 0.226 falls outside the scope of this investigation. There existed a strong and significant negative relationship between online games and the social behavior of high school students. The impact of online games on students' social behavior manifested in several negative aspects, including the usage of harsh language, disruption of daily productivity leading to health deterioration, failure to keep promises to others, neglecting religious worship, abandoning tasks, and a decrease in the display of empathy towards others. Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has brought significant impacts in the world of education, both on the positive and negative sides. This study aims to identify and address the negative impact of the use of digital technology in the learning process, especially at SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Gresik. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with observation techniques and interviews with teachers and students. The results show that although technology facilitates access to information and improves learning efficiency, its uncontrolled use can cause distraction, decreased learning focus, and moral and social disruption of learners. In addition, unwise use of the internet can also lead to addiction, cyberbullying and misuse of information. To overcome this, collaboration between teachers, schools and parents is needed to build character, organize appropriate learning strategies, and provide controls and facilities that support the positive use of technology. Cultivating digital ethics and technology literacy are key to creating a healthy and responsible learning environment in the digital era.
