Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of audio–visual media in improving students’ learning motivation and outcomes on Geography subject in Class X MIA 4, SMA N 11 Pekanbaru.This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted in 2 cycles. It seeks to illustrate the increase in students’ motivation and learning outcomes in SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. The research procedure in both cycles has 4 stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Each cycle is done three times. Data were taken through observation. They were analyzed by Percentage formula.The results show that learning motivation in three meetings in cycle l were 40.43%, 42.99%, and 53% respectively. In the 2nd cycle, they were 77.90%, 85.43, and 88.15%. Regarding the students’ learning outcome, the results in the cycle l and II were 43.93% and 86.66% respectively.

Abstract

History subject is very urgent in social education and there are four skills that students must master in learning social education: analyzing skills, critical thinking skills, evaluating skills, and creating skills. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the flipped classroom method and learning engagement on students’ critical thinking skills in history lessons. This research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The used instruments in this research were observation sheets, questionnaires, and critical thinking tests. The data analysis used Two Way ANOVA.  The results showed that the flipped classroom and student engagement affect the student's critical thinking skills. Historical teachers should apply this method by building a pleasant learning atmosphere so that student engagement and critical thinking skills of a student increase.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan Praktek Lapangan Kependidikan Internasional melalui Program Asistensi Mengajar Internasional merupakan salah satu program yang dilaksanakan oleh Departemen Geografi, Program Studi Pendidikan Geografi dalam mengembangkan kemampuan mahasiswa dan pengalaman nyatadalam dunia pendidikan lintas negara. Asistensi Mengajar Internasional terkait dengan proses pembelajaran kolaboratif dalam mengajarkan dan memperdalam ilmunya dengan cara menjadi guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pelaksanan program asistensi mengajar yang berlangsung di Malaysia selama satu bulan lebih di mulai dari tanggal 19 desember 2022 sampai tanggal 8 februari 2023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian mix method. Sampel yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Geografi Angkatan 2019. Teknik dalam pengumpulan data adalah observasi, kuesioner dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan menggunakan statistik deskriptif melalui pengolah data menggunakan Microsoft Office Excel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mahasiswa menguasai praktek mengajar yang ditunjukkan dengan angket persepsi murid di tiga sekolah yang berbeda masing-masing berada pada tingkat menguasai yaitu SA 88%, AMZ 89%, RL 89%, dan MNZ 89%. Sedangkan persentase setiap aspek adalah 1) Pembuatan RPH berada pada kategori sangat menguasai yaitu 84%, 2) Persediaan dan Set Induksi berada pada kategori sangat menguasai yaitu 88%, 3) Langkah 1 dan Langkah 2 masing-masing pada kategori sangat menguasai yaitu 87.1%- 88.2%, dan 4) Penutup dan Penilaian berada pada kategori menguasai yaitu 91.4% dan 90%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa XI.F pada mata pelajaran geografi di SMA Negeri 1 Kota Pariaman. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan sifat penelitiannya adalah bersifat korelasi atau hubungan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI.F yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik Proporsional Random Sampling. Teknik pengumpul data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket, tes dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan rumus korelasi Product Momen. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan: Motivasi belajar XI.F pada mata pelajaran geografi tergolong sedang, dibuktikan dari nilai rata-ratanya sebesar 2,50. Kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa XI.F pada mata pelajaran geografi termasuk dalam kategori cukup, dibuktikan dari nilai rata-ratanya sebesar 52,50. Terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara motivasi belajar dengan kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa XI.F pada mata pelajaran geografi di SMA Negeri 1 Pariaman. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil perhitungan statistik korelasi Pruduct Moment sebesar 0,525, dengan besaran koefisien korelasi berada pada tingkat hubungan “Cukup Kuat”.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the effect of formative assessment at the beginning of collage on student participation and learning outcomes. The next objective is to compare the effect of assessment formative objective test form (af-Otf) and assessment formative essay test form (afEtf) on student participation and learning outcomes. Research method is quantitative with a one-way Monova technique, consisting of X as an independent variable (formative assessment), Y1, Y2 as dependent variables (student participation and learning outcomes). The subject of research was 24 students who take Process and Result of Learning Outcome Assessment (Penilaian proses dan hasil belajar geografi (PPHBg). The students were divided into two groups and each group had 12 students, the first group of (af-Otf), and the second group of (af-Etf). Research result; 1) the overall average participation of students who were given (af-Otf) was higher than the (af-Etf). 2) The average learning outcomes of (af-Otf) and (af-Etf) were 74.54 (good), a student with (af-Otf) was 83.17 (very good), and (af-Etf) was 65.92 (fairly good). Multivariate test results prove that the effect of (af-Otf) and (af-Etf) is 69.80 (very strong), meanwhile, the comparative test result of t value is t = 2,250; p-value = 0.035/2<0,05 means the (af-Otf) is stronger than (af-Etf). The study proves that formative assessment before instruction by using objective assessment is more effective in increasing student participational learning outcomes than essay formative assessment.

Abstract

Abstrak This study aims to find out about (1) the effectiveness of online learning (2) to find out what problems are faced in online learning (3) to find out what solutions can be done in order to overcome online problems in Kota Pariaman. This type of research uses descriptive quantitative research, data collection techniques use observation techniques, interviews, questionnaires and documentation techniques. Then the informants in this study were geography teachers of SMAN Kota Pariaman and also students of SMAN Kota Pariaman. Furthermore, for data analysis techniques used descriptive data analysis techniques and descriptive statistical calculations using percentage descriptive statistics. The results of this study are (1) The effectiveness of online learning at SMAN Kota Pariaman is: Learning using online methods at SMAN Kota Pariaman is still not effective. Because the management of learning during the Covid pandemic was shifted to online learning, teacher and student communication did not go so well, so that students responded and responded to learning using online methods. Student learning activities do not run properly because there is a lack of response and feedback between teachers and students so that student learning outcomes decline. This is what causes the online learning process to be less effective, including in the "Medium" category because there are still factors or obstacles that hinder the learning process to run effectively. (2) The problems faced in online learning at SMAN Kota Pariaman are the strength of the network / signal which is still not stable, the limitations of students in purchasing internet quota, there are still students who do not have smartphones. (3) Solutions that can be done in order to solve online problems at SMAN Kota Pariaman. From the problems faced in learning using online methods, solutions that can be done by students who are constrained because of the internet network and quota or not having a smartphone can take advantage of school facilities so that they can remain active in the learning process. Students who do not have smartphones can also report to the counseling teacher for solutions such as the teacher providing or giving smartphones to students who really do not have smartphones, this can provide support to students so that they can continue to follow the online learning process. Based on the results of research and discussion in this study, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of learning using online methods at SMAN Kota Pariaman, namely 11 respondents (9.82%) in the Very High category, 27 respondents (24.1%) in the High category, 42 respondents (37.5%) were in the Medium category, 28 respondents (25%) had the Low category, and as many as 4 respondents (4%) had the Very Low category. From these data, 42 students have the highest priority frequency with a percentage of 37.5%, namely in the "Medium" category. So that learning using the online method at SMAN Kota Pariaman can be categorized as moderate, it still cannot be said to be effective due to the obstacles encountered during learning using the online method. Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the distribution of the location of the weaving household industry in Nagari Halaban. (2) constraints on the weaving household industry in Nagari Halaban. (3) efforts to overcome obstacles in the weaving household industry in Nagari Halaban. This type of research is qualitative. The population in this study were weaving craftsmen in Nagari Halaban. Sampling by Quota sampling. With a total of 80 weaving craftsmen in Nagari Halaban. The research instruments used in this study were interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that: (1) The distribution of the woven household industry in Nagari Halaban is very strategic as a center for the development of the weaving industry. (2) Constraints for the weaving home industry, such as tools / raw materials, capital, industrial processes, labor, and marketing. The common obstacle experienced by craftsmen is capital. (3) These constraints do not hinder the development of the woven household industry in Nagari Halaban. Because, with tenacity the craftsmen have been able and able to find a way out of the obstacles they encounter.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the profile of the gold miners in Abai Sangir Batang Hari Solok Selatan. This type of research is qualitative research. The data used to complete this research is primary data. Primary data were obtained from direct interviews with the Nagari Abai community, Sangir Batang Hari District, South Solok Regency, gold miners, and Abai community leaders who know the history of mining in Nagari Abai. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques, namely by way of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are: (1) Seen geologically, there is a subduction zone (plate collision) and the location is also a layer of volcanic eruptions, a mixture of these minerals formed crystallization which forms several minerals such as Au (gold) , Ag (silver). ), Cu (copper), Pb (lead), and Zn (zinc). So with the gold there, people use it as a livelihood. (2) Gold mining in Nagari Abai is carried out in two ways, namely conventional and mechanical. Conventionally using conventional tools such as hoes, crowbars, and hammer. Meanwhile, with machines using tools such as excavators, wheelbarrows, and dompeng. (3) In terms of social life, miners in Nagari Abai are not only carried out by the Abai community, but also come from various regions outside Abai. Abstract

Assessment is a process that must be carried out by the teacher to determine the level of achievement of learning materials as well as the ability of students. This study aims to determine the appropriateness of teacher-generated questions based on LOTS, MOTS, and HOTS. This is a descriptiveresearch with a quantitative approach. The object of this research is the final semester exam questions for class X, XI, XII even semesters for the 2020/2021 academic year. The data were collected through survey techniques and using a checklist as an instrument. Based on the research conducted, the following results were obtained: 1). There is a gap in the suitability of the HOTS type questions on the questions made by the Geography subject teacher at SMA N 2 Bangkinang Kota. The gaps in the suitability of the HOTS questions in class X, XI, and XII are 22%, 16%, and 17%, respectively. 2). Obstacles faced by teachers in making questions are a) Teachers do not have documents/guidelines for the distribution of the proportions of questions. b) the teacher's lack of knowledge about the distribution of questions based on LOTS, MOTS and HOTS. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that the questions made by the geography subject teacher have a suitability gap on the HOTS type questions. So it is suggested 1.To be able to help achieve learning objectives, the teacher can match the percentage of the distribution of questions. 2. Universitas Negeri Padang. 2021 This study aims to Knowing the development strategy of Binasi Beach tourism object in Kota Pariaman. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. This research is located in Marunggi village, Kec. South Pariaman. The informants in this study were the Head of Marunggi Village and Visitors. Data collection techniques in this study are interviews and observations. In this study, the data analysis technique used the SWOT analysis method. Binasi Beach is still undeveloped, but this object has the potential to develop, its beauty and panorama are able to attract tourists to feel the harmonious atmosphere of the beautiful and beautiful beach. Important factors in a tourist attraction consist of the presence of an attraction or object, the existence of facilities, the existence of a shopping center and cleanliness. The results of the research are in the form of a strategy for developing the Binasi Beach tourist attraction which is a new beach in a way that the manager must optimize the existing potential because in the future the manager plans to create new objects and new facilities for the development of tourism objects. Food buying and selling activities are expected to be concentrated in one location only. Threats that are known to be able to disrupt the comfort of visitors, these threats can be overcome with firmness from the manager because the threats that arise come from community behavior. waste managers can work together with other parties to maintain sustainability and also create new jobs.
