Abstract

His study aims to analyze the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by the window shopping method on students’ learning outcomes in Geography at SMAN 11 Padang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. The sample was selected using a cluster random sampling technique, consisting of class XI.F9 as the experimental group (31 students) and class XI.F1 as the control group (31 students). Data were collected through pretest and posttest, reflection questionnaires, and observation questionnaires. Data analysis included descriptive analysis, prerequisite tests (normality test, homogeneity test, and N-gain calculation), and hypothesis testing using an independent sample t-test, as well as supporting qualitative analysis assisted by IBM SPSS version 31. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The average learning outcomes in the experimental class increased from 51.16 to 82.19. The N-gain value in the experimental class was 72.21% (high category), while in the control class it was 22.56% (low category). The t-test results showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of < 0.001 (< 0.05), indicating that there was a significant effect of the implementation of the PjBL model assisted by the window shopping method on students’ learning outcomes. In addition, the questionnaire results indicated that most students responded positively to the learning process, as evidenced by increased interest, participation, and learning motivation. Therefore, this learning model is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes in Geography.

Abstract

The construction of a U-turn facility on Maulana Hasanudin Street, Batu Ceper District, Tangerang City, is a strategic infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and accessibility. This study seeks to analyze the impact of the development on the community’s social geography, educational accessibility, and traffic density in the study area. A descriptive mix methods approach was employed, combining qualitative analysis with line density techniques to assess traffic congestion levels. The findings reveal that the U-turn development has generated complex effects. In terms of social geography, it altered travel patterns, influencing social interactions while simultaneously strengthening local community solidarity. Economically, the project stimulated activity in sectors catering to construction workers' needs, although other sectors faced adaptation challenges. Educational accessibility exhibited disparities in travel time between morning and afternoon, highlighting the need for traffic policies that are responsive to school activity rhythms. Traffic analysis indicated that, while the U-turn effectively managed vehicle flow during regular hours, congestion persisted during peak times (17:00–18:00 WIB) and weekends, with a traffic imbalance showing 30% higher density from Benda toward Maulana Hasanudin. These findings underscore the necessity for ongoing evaluation of both the social and technical impacts of urban infrastructure development.

Abstract

The low geography learning outcomes among Grade X students, as indicated by scores falling below the standard, serve as the background of this study. One of the main contributing factors is the use of learning methods that lack engagement and interactivity. This research aims to examine the implementation of learning using interactive media, compare learning outcomes between control and experimental classes, and analyze the effect of using interactive media on geography learning outcomes. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed, using purposive sampling to select two classes—E2 as the experimental class and E4 as the control class. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and testing. The research instruments underwent validity and reliability testing, while data analysis included tests of normality, homogeneity, hypothesis testing, and gain analysis. The findings show that the average post-test score of the experimental class using the interactive Quizizz media was 88.63, compared to 74.03 in the control class. This difference indicates a significant positive effect of using Quizizz on students' geography learning outcomes. The study concludes that integrating interactive media such as Quizizz is effective in enhancing learning outcomes, particularly when aligned with students’ characteristics and learning needs. The practical implication recommends that teachers adopt digital interactive media in geography instruction to foster a more engaging and participatory learning environment.
