Abstract

Background: Teenagers can experience hypertension because of several risk factors. Prevalence of hypertension at the age of 15-17 years nationally is 6.0% males and 4.7% females. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status, fast food consumption, and stress levels with the incidence of hypertension in adolescents. Methods: This study used an analytic observation method with a cross sectional approach. The research subjects were adolescents from SMA Negeri 3 Semarang. The independent variables are nutritional status, fast food consumption, stress levels, the dependent variable is hypertension. The instruments used are DASS 42 and SQ-FFQ. Sampling using Purposive Sampling. Data analysis performed was univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with the Chi Square test. Results: statistical test results showed there was a relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of hypertension in adolescents (p=0.047). There was no relationship between fast food consumption (p=0.973), stress level (p=0.363) and the incidence of hypertension in adolescents. Conclusion: In this study there was a relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of hypertension in adolescents, but there was no relationship between fast food consumption and stress levels with the incidence of hypertension in adolescents at SMA Negeri 3 Semarang.

Abstract

Persentase balita gizi kurang di Kabupaten Pati pada tahun 2021 sebesar 5% dan wilayah Puskesmas Sukolilo I merupakan wilayah yang memiliki jumlah kasus tertinggi di Kabupaten Pati yakni terdapat 11,04% kasus dibandingkan dengan tahun 2020 angka tersebut sangat melesat jauh sebesar 0,8% dari 23 balita. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui faktor risiko yang berhubungan dengan kejadian gizi kurang pada balita usia 0-60 bulan buruk di wilayah Puskesmas Sukolilo I. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Cross Sectional. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juli-Agustus 2022 di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sukolilo I. Teknis pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah Quota Sampling sebanyak 70 responden. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis univariat, analisis bivariat menggunakan uji Chi Square dan analisis multivariat menggunakan Regresi Logistik. Hasil penelitian didapatkan ada hubungan BBLR (p=0,016), sanitasi lingkungan (sumber air minum) (p=0,001), tingkat kecukupan energi (p=0,000) dengan kejadian gizi kurang pada balita 0-60 bulan. Peluang risiko paling besar terkena gizi kurang yakni variabel tingkat kecukupan energi.

Abstract

Tempeh flour is potentially a substitute material in making yoghurt that provides bioactive for improving cardiovascular health. It is also suitably combined with antioxidant sources, such as red pitaya peel extract, which is well known for inhibiting metabolic inflammation. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of tempeh flour-based yoghurt complemented with red pitaya peel extract in improving lipid profiles and glucose tolerance in hypercholesterolemic rats. A total of 36 male Wistar rats were used and divided into six different groups: regular diet (ND) and five high-fat-diet rat groups treated with no supplementation (HFD); diary-based yoghurt with lactic acid bacteria (YBAL); commercial yoghurt (YB); tempeh flour based-yoghurt with lactic acid bacteria (SY); and tempeh flour based yoghurt complemented with red pitaya peel extract (SDS). The supplementation of each treatment group was given a dose of 3.6 ml/ KgBW/ day as a single dose for 28 days. The blood sample was collected from sinus orbitalis and then used for lipid profile, glucose, liver enzyme analysis, and statistical analysis using ANOVA. The result shows that glucose levels increased significantly in all groups, except HFD groups, and there is no significant difference between normal and yoghurt treatment groups. However, yoghurt and red pitaya peel extract supplementation significantly decrease LDL-C and increase HDL-C levels while improving liver condition during hypercholesterolemia. In conclusion, tempeh flour-based yoghurt complemented with red pitaya peel extract can improve lipid profile and liver health in hypercholesterolemia rats. Therefore, further research on metabolism pathways is needed to develop potential nutraceutical products for people with hypercholesterolemia.

Abstract

Nyamuk Aedes aegypti merupakan vektor penular beberapa penyakit, salah satunya adalah penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue(DBD). Pengendalian dari penularan penyakit DBD ini salah satunya adalah menggunakan insektisida sintetis. Penggunaan insektisida sintetis ini berpotensi untuk mengakibatkan terjadinya resistensi. Penggunaan insektisida sintetis, secara bertahap dan progresif dapat mengakibatkan jumlah nyamuk yang resisten terhadap insektisida tersebut semakin tinggi. Insektisida alami atau nabati merupakan tumbuhan atau bagian tumbuhan yang dapat digunakan untuk mengendalikan organisme penggangu, dimana tumbuhan tersebut ada yang mempunyai bahan aktif tunggal atau majemuk. Insektisida alami atau insektisida nabati mempunyaisifat-sifat tidak meninggalkan residu di tanah maupun pada produk pertanian sehingga mudah terurai di alam, mampu menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem dan biodiversitas pada suatu agroekosistem, mampu memperlambat resistensi hama, dan usaha tani dapatterjamin ketahanan dan keberlanjutan. Salah satu tanaman yang berpotensi sebagai insektisida alami adalah Kayu Manis. Hal inidikarenakan kulit batang dan daun dari tanaman kayu manis memiliki senyawa aktif, yaitu minyak atsiri. Minyak atsiri mengandung sinamaldehid yang bermanfaat sebagai antibakteri dan fungisidal. Bagian kulit dan batang kayu manis banyak mengandungsenyawa sinamaldehid, sedangkan bagian daunnya banyak mengandung eugenol.

Abstract

The food is handled by individuals, thereby increasing the chances of food contaminationdue to improper handling. Deliberating or accidental contamination of food might endangerthe health. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the food safety knowledge, attitudes,and practices among housewives. The study was conducted using quasi experiment with aone group pretest posttest group design. The research respondents involved 41 housewiveswho live in RT 4 RW 1, Patemon Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang City. Therespondent filled questionnaire and have trained about sanitation, hygienic and how tomanage the food. The questionnaire was structure into distinctive parts to collectinformation on knowledge on food safety, attitudes towards food safety and food hygienepractices. In our study, the food-handlers were knowledgeable about hygienic practices,cleaning and sanitation procedures, such as hand washing, using gloves and proper cleaningof the utensils. In generally, the housewives have satisfactory knowledge in food safety.Key words: food, behavior, hygiene, sanitation

Abstract

Background: Physical fitness is a person ability to carry out physical activities. Physical fitness is very important for athletes to improve athlete performance and athlete quality. Sports with aerobic and anaerobic systems require cardiovascular endurance (VO2 max). Physical fitness will run well with adequate energy and macronutrient intake.  Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between energy intake, macronutrients and nutritional status with the physical fitness (VO2 Max) of athletes in gaming sports at BPPLOP Central Java.  Method: The research was conducted using analytical observation with a cross sectional design. The research sample was 47 people using a total sampling technique. Data on athletesmacronutrient intake uses the 3x24 hour food recall method, physical fitness (VO2 max) measurements use the bleep test. Data analysis was carried out using the Pearson Correlation Test.  Results: The results of the Pearson correlation test showed that there was no significant relationship between energy intake (p=0.921 R=-0.015), protein (p=0.276 R=-0.162), fat (p=0.778 R=-0.042), and carbohydrates (p= 0.923 R=0.015) on athletes' physical fitness (VO2 max).  Conclusion: It was found that there was a significant relationship between nutritional status (p=0.021 R=-0.335) and physical fitness (VO2 max) of game sports athletes at BPPLOP CentralJava.Key words : carbohydrates, energy, nutritional status, physical fitness (VO2 Max), protein

Abstract

ABSTRAK Masa anak-anak merupakan periode kritis termasuk dalam membangun kebiasaan makan yang akhirnya mempengaruhi status kesehatan seseorang. Kebiasaan mengkonsumsi makanan jajanan pada anak mampu memberikan pengaruh dalam perubahan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Gizi memberikan pengaruh pada setiap tahap kehidupan dengan kekhasan masing-masing. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan sosialisasi makanan jajanan sehat bagi anak sekolah yang berkaitan dengan jenis makanan jajanan, bahan tambahan pangan termasuk pewarna makanan dan pengaruh makanan jajanan bagi kesehatan secara umum. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan sosialisasi, pendampingan dan edukasi gizi. Mitra pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah para siswa kelas 1-3 SD Antonius 02 Semarang sebanyak 194 orang. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan sosialisasi dan edukasi gizi yang dilakukan terhadap para siswa mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan yang berkaitan dengan makanan jajanan. Pengabdian ini juga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan ketrampilan para siswa dalam memilih jenis makanan jajanan. Kesimpulan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan para siswa yang berkaitan dengan jenis makanan jajanan, bahan tambahan pangan dan pengaruh makanan jajanan bagi kesehatan. Kata Kunci: Anak Sekolah, Makanan Jajanan, Pengetahuan, Pendidikan Gizi  ABSTRACT Childhood is a critical period including developing eating habits which ultimately affect a person's health status. The habit of consuming snacks among children can have an influence on changes in the quality of human resources. Nutrition has an influence on every stage of life with its own characteristics. This service activity aims to socialize healthy snacks for school children regarding types of snacks, food additives including food coloring and the effect of snacks on health in general. The method of implementing service activities uses socialization, mentoring and nutrition education. Community service partners are 194 students in grades 1-3 of SD Antonius 02 Semarang. The results of the service activities show that the socialization and nutrition education activities carried out on students were able to increase knowledge related to snack foods. This service is also expected to improve students' skills in choosing types of snacks. The conclusion of this service activity is that there has been an increase in students' knowledge regarding types of snack foods, food additives and the influence of snack foods on health.  Keywords: School Children, Snacks, Knowledge, Nutrition Education

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kemenpora RI menyusun program terobosan baru dalam mewujudkan atlet olimpiade melalui Desain Besar Olahraga Nasional (DBON). Program DBON merangkul perguruan tinggi sebagai salah satu wadah dalam pembinaan atlet yang dikenal dengan Sentra Latihan Olahragawan Muda Potensial Nasional (SLOMPN). Salah satu tujuan SLOMPN adalah menyelenggarakan tata kelola atlet melalui sport science seperti fisiologi olahraga, performa fisik, biomekanika, psikologi, dan gizi secara komprehensif. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan sosialisasi gizi olahraga yang berkaitan dengan bahan makanan, porsi makan, kudapan dan suplemen bagi atlet angkat besi. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan sosialisasi, pendampingan dan edukasi gizi. Mitra pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah para atlet angkat besi SLOMPN di Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan sosialisasi dan edukasi gizi yang dilakukan terhadap para atlet mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan yang berkaitan dengan gizi olahraga, kudapan dan suplemen. Pengabdian ini juga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan ketrampilan para atlet dalam memilih makanan serta menerapkan porsi makan. Kesimpulan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan para atlet SLOMPN UNNES yang berkaitan dengan bahan makanan, porsi makan, kudapan dan suplemen. Kata Kunci: Angkat Besi, Atlet, Gizi, Makanan  ABSTRACT Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Indonesia has developed a new breakthrough program in realizing Olympic athletes through the Great Design of National Sports (DBON). The DBON program embraces universities as one of the containers in athlete development known as the National Potential Young Athlete Training Center (SLOMPN). One of the goals of SLOMPN is to organize athlete governance through sports science such as sports physiology, physical performance, biomechanics, psychology, and nutrition comprehensively. This service activity aims to socialize sports nutrition related to food ingredients, meal portions, snacks and supplements for weightlifters. The method of implementing community service activities uses socialization, mentoring and nutrition education. The community service partners are weightlifters of SLOMPN at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). The results of the activity showed that the socialization and nutrition education activities carried out for athletes were able to increase knowledge related to sports nutrition, snacks and supplements. This service is also expected to improve the skills of athletes in choosing food and implementing meal portions. Abstract

Background: Sports games with aerobic and anaerobic energy systems require muscular and cardiovascular endurance, as well as high dietary intake. Carbohydrate loading before training can maximize glycogen storage and carbohydrate oxidation, thereby increasing performance. Chocolate milk powder, as much as 45 g, contains 55 g of carbohydrates, contributing to 6-8% of total carbohydrate needs. Objectives: Analyzing the effect of chocolate milk consumption on muscle endurance and maximum oxygen volume capacity (VO2 Max) in sports athletes at the BPPLOP Central Java Student Sports Education and Training Center. Methods: Research with pretest-posttest control design with the same sample with a washout period. A sample of 47 athletes was taken using a total sampling technique, all used as a control group and treated for 6 days with 200 ml 2 hours before training. Measurement of endurance using the multistage fitness test. Test the difference in effect before and after treatment using the Paired Samples T-Test, while testing the difference between control and treatment groups using Mann Whitney. Results:  There was a significant effect between before and after consuming chocolate milk on increasing muscle endurance by 2150.64 ± 420.72 to 2314.47 ± 400.14 m and VO2 Max capacity by 53.95 ± 5.96 to 56.30 ± 5.62 ml/kg/minute with a p-value=0.00. There was a significant difference between the consumption of placebo and chocolate milk in increasing muscle endurance by 163.83 m and VO2 Max capacity by 2.34 ml/kg/minute with a p-value=0.00. Conclusions: Carbohydrate loading by consuming 45 g of chocolate milk in 200 ml containing 55 g of carbohydrates before training for 6 days can affect increasing muscle endurance and VO2 Max capacity in sports athletes.

Abstract

Untuk memaksimalkan PHV (peak height velocity) atlet seharusnya memenuhi kebutuhan gizi dan nutrisi, dapat istirahat tidur dengan cukup, serta melakukan aktifitas fisik yang cukup. Namun yang terjadi dilapangan kerap ditemui atlet dalam masa PHV menurunkan berat badan demi bertanding, latihan hingga larut malam hingga kelelahan berlebih. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada msyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi pengetahuan dan pemahaman mengenai PHV. Pengabdian ini dilaksanaakan di Sukoharjo, diikuti oleh 40 pelatih dan 10 orangtua siswa yang ada disukoharjo. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegitan ini adalah seminar edukasi, diberikan materi baik secara lisan dan tertulis dengan diskusi dua arah. Materi berkenaan dengan faktor yang mempengaruhi PHV, bagaimana memaksimalkan peran pelatih dan orangtua agar dapat bersinergi untuk prestasi maksimal atlet, dengan memahami kecukupan gizi anak, pola hidup sehat dengan tidur yang cukup, dan progam latihan yang sesuai dengan periode PHV. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah bahwa setiap pelatih dan orangtua sudah siap dalam bekerjasama untuk memaksimalkan periode PHV pada atlet.
