Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has encouraged higher education institutions to deliver academic services through effective and responsive digital platforms, particularly Academic Information Systems (SIAKAD). Nevertheless, the presence of such systems does not automatically ensure high levels of student satisfaction, as service quality remains a decisive factor in shaping user experience. This study aims to examine the influence of SIAKAD service quality on student satisfaction at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang. An explanatory quantitative design was employed, involving 71 respondents selected through accidental sampling based on the Slovin formula. Service quality was operationalized using the five SERVQUAL dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Student satisfaction was assessed by measuring the alignment between expectations and perceived performance. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS. The findings reveal that, collectively, SIAKAD service quality exerts a significant effect on student satisfaction (F = 83.095; p < 0.001), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.865, indicating a strong explanatory power of the model. Partially, all five dimensions demonstrate positive and significant contributions, with responsiveness emerging as the most influential factor (β = 0.408), followed by empathy (β = 0.336), assurance (β = 0.222), tangibles (β = 0.218), and reliability (β = 0.204). These results underscore that prompt responses, clear academic information, and attentive support play a central role in shaping students’ perceptions of satisfaction. Strengthening service quality and enhancing responsiveness are therefore essential strategies for fostering student satisfaction and reinforcing effective digital governance in higher education institutions.

Abstract

IMPLEMENTING THE ZERO WASTE EDUCATION PARK PROGRAMME IN WASTE MANAGEMENT: A CASE STUDY IN BATU CITY, EAST JAVA This research discusses the Zero Waste Education Park Programme in Batu City, East Java, as an effort to achieve zero waste targets amidst the increasingly important issues of climate change and environmental degradation. A descriptive qualitative method with an explanatory approach was used, with primary data from interviews and secondary data from related documents. The results show that the program has various educational and waste management tools, but still faces several obstacles such as lack of socialization, lack of facilities, and technical problems with pyrolysis machines. To achieve the goal of zero waste, several strategies are recommended, including strengthening socialization, increasing community participation, improving facilities, optimising technology, enforcing regulations, economic empowerment and collaboration between different stakeholders. By implementing these strategies in an integrated and sustainable manner, it is expected that Batu City can achieve its vision of a sustainable zero-waste area and become an example for other regions in environmentally sound waste management.

Abstract

The high unemployment rate in Madiun Regency, reaching 4.34% in 2024, surpassing the East Java Province average of 4.19%, indicates that effective policy interventions are needed, particularly job training programs. Using the case study of LPK Aclasindo Inti Persada. This research aims to evaluate the overview of the job training program, assess its effectiveness, and identify obstacles in its implementation in an effort to reduce unemployment rates. This study conducted qualitative research with a case study design. The purposive sampling technique was used to select informants, and the research population consisted of institution managers and community members who participated in the training. Data collection was conducted thru observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method consisting of the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that effective job training improves competence, readiness, and workforce absorption thru alignment with industry needs and partnerships with companies. However, the impact has not been optimal due to low community participation, limited access to information and training, and minimal work experience. Moreover, structural barriers such as the limited job market continue to restrict the contribution of training in reducing unemployment. The research conclusion states that the success of the program is not only measured by the quality of training and the absorption capacity of graduates but also considers the level of participation, available job opportunities, and public perception. Therefore, strengthening the synergy between training institutions, the government, and the industrial sector, along with increasing outreach to the community, is key to building a sustainable and impactful job training model.
