The role of schools and parents is very important in supporting children's activities to improve reading habits. This study aims to determine the teacher's role in growing the reading habits of grade 1 students at SDN Karawaci Baru 4 Tangerang City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques used include observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the five teacher roles, it can be concluded that two roles have been carried out well, namely the teacher's role as a motivator and the teacher's role as a facilitator. Meanwhile, the three roles cannot be carried out optimally, namely the role of the teacher as an innovator, the role of the teacher as an inspiration and the role of the teacher as a mediator. The teacher's role as a motivator and facilitator is considered good because it is proven that the teacher provides verbal encouragement in the form of words of encouragement for students, reminds the importance of reading, provides additional value for students, there is a reading corner provided for students, freedom in borrowing books. in the library, habituation of reading activities 15 minutes before the learning process, as well as providing good reading techniques. This is inversely proportional to the teacher's role as an innovator, inspiration and mediator which is still lacking in helping students grow students' reading habits

Abstract

Abstract

This activity aims to provide education to instil environmental awareness and caring character in elementary school students. The method used in this research is participatory qualitative, involving all school members, including students, teachers, parents, or guardians, through integrative thematic activities with an environmental theme. Specifically, the target participants in this activity were upper-grade students (grades 4-6), totalling 86 students. The instruments used in this study included observation guidelines, documentation guidelines, and student perception questionnaires. The research results indicate that the forms of education that can be implemented consist of three types of activities: (1) integrating the green school concept into the curriculum, (2) developing environmental care character through school habituation, and (3) establishing collaboration between the school and various stakeholders. Overall, the results of these community service activities show that the implementation of environmental education in schools, both through curriculum integration, daily habits, and support from the school's social environment, has a positive impact on the formation of environmentally conscious character in students. It is suggested that schools strengthen the implementation of environmental education within the green school program in an integrated and sustainable manner through learning, habituation, and cross-sector partnerships.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low academic achievement of students in the IPAS subject, particularly in the theme of Indonesian cultural wealth, as well as the limited use of creative learning media at the elementary school level. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the impact of using puzzle media on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Karang Mulya 1. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and purposive sampling technique was employed, involving two class groups: IVA as the experimental group and IVC as the control group, each consisting of 30 students. The research instrument consisted of 25 validated multiple-choice questions. Data were analyzed using the t-test. The results show no significant difference in the pre-test scores of the two groups; however, a significant difference was found in the post-test scores after the treatment, with t-count (2.067) > t-table (2.001). These findings indicate that the use of puzzle media has a positive impact on student learning outcomes. The study concludes that puzzle media can serve as an effective alternative for improving IPAS learning outcomes. The implications highlight the importance of innovative media in enhancing student participation and understanding, and provide a reference for the development of other contextual learning media in elementary education.
