Abstract

Humans are inherently social beings, living in communities comprised of both men and women. In such social settings, various social issues, including immorality, often emerge. According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, there have been 9,584 reported cases of immoral behavior, with 1,963 male victims and 8,187 female victims. This alarming issue requires a comprehensive and contextually grounded solution. One such solution lies in the application of the moral and ethical teachings found in Surah An-Nur verses 30–31 of the Qur’an. This study aims to explore and describe the moral values embedded in these verses, as interpreted through two distinct tafsir approaches: the classical interpretation of Tafsir Al-Maraghi and the contemporary perspective of Tafsir Al-Misbah. The novelty of this study lies in its comparative approach, bridging traditional and modern interpretations to uncover a holistic understanding that addresses present-day moral challenges in Indonesia. Employing a descriptive qualitative methodology within the framework of library research, this study analyzes and compares the aforementioned tafsir works. The findings indicate that the values conveyed in Surah An-Nur verses 30–31—such as the importance of lowering one's gaze (ghaddul bashar), maintaining modesty, and fostering mutual respect between genders—remain highly relevant in efforts to prevent immoral behavior in Indonesian society. By internalizing and implementing these Qur'anic values, it is possible to cultivate a generation that excels not only in knowledge and skills but also in strong moral character. Such individuals will be better equipped to resist immoral influences, face global challenges, and make positive contributions to the nation and the wider world.

Abstract

Abstract This article explores the importance of respecting diverse perspectives as a fundamental pillar in cultivating inclusive, reflective, and ethical intellectualism. In the context of multicultural societies and academic spaces filled with diverse schools of thought, openness to differing opinions is a key indicator of intellectual maturity. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach as outlined by Moleong, aiming to understand the subjective meaning behind social phenomena in a holistic manner. The analysis is grounded in recent literature, including academic journals and books published within the last five years. Findings indicate that respecting differing viewpoints functions not only as an ethical norm but also as a crucial mechanism in the development of critical thinking and scientific culture. Multicultural education, intercultural dialogue, and the values of Pancasila play vital roles in internalizing tolerance in both academic and societal contexts. Therefore, respecting diversity of thought is not merely a moral act, but an integral part of a civilized and intellectually engaged process Abstract This article explores the importance of respecting diverse perspectives as a fundamental pillar in cultivating inclusive, reflective, and ethical intellectualism. Abstract

The Nahdlatul Ulama Student Association (IPNU) plays a strategic role in shaping the character of the younger generation through non-formal education that focuses on religious, moral and national values. Through cadre formation programs, leadership training and social skills development, IPNU instills noble moral values, discipline and a sense of nationalism. This research uses a phenomenological approach with descriptive qualitative methods to explore the experiences of IPNU members. The findings show that although IPNU has a positive impact, challenges such as limited resources and the influence of modern culture are the main obstacles. With an inclusive and adaptive strategy, IPNU is expected to continue to contribute to building youth character with integrity, morals and competence. This research aims to examine IPNU's strategic role in building the character of the younger generation through the various programs and activities it implements. Apart from that, this research will also look at the challenges faced by IPNU in carrying out this role amidst continuously developing social, political and technological dynamics.

Abstract

Academic ethics refer to the moral standards and behavioral codes that must be upheld by all members of the academic community. Despite their critical role in shaping intellectual integrity, violations such as plagiarism and dishonesty remain prevalent among students. These issues are often driven by academic pressure, limited ethical awareness, and weak enforcement of institutional regulations. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of students’ responsibility in upholding academic ethics as a foundation for building a culture of scientific integrity in higher education. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with selected university students actively engaged in academic and organizational activities. The data were analyzed thematically to identify key patterns related to ethical awareness, challenges, and practices. The findings reveal that while students generally acknowledge the importance of ethical behavior, there remains a significant gap between ethical understanding and its application. Factors such as insufficient training on academic norms, unclear institutional policies, and the lack of exemplary leadership contribute to ethical lapses. The study emphasizes the importance of clear academic codes of conduct, continuous ethical education, and role-model leadership. Institutions must also implement transparent and fair enforcement systems to foster an environment where ethical values are internalized and practiced. A sustainable academic culture rooted in integrity is essential for advancing knowledge and cultivating morally responsible graduates.

Abstract

Abstract

This research examines the transformation of Quranic exegesis (tafsir) in the digital era, focusing on opportunities, challenges, and hermeneutical reorientation. The methodology employs a qualitative approach with literature studies and descriptive analysis of various digital platforms providing Quranic interpretation services. The findings indicate that the digital era offers significant opportunities in democratizing access to tafsir, facilitating cross-madhab verse search and interpretation, and developing interactive exegetical methodologies. However, major challenges include the validity and authority of digital tafsir sources, interpretation polarization, and degradation of classical scholarly traditions. Hermeneutical reorientation is necessary through developing digital epistemology that maintains classical hermeneutical principles while being adaptive to technological dynamics. This research contributes to developing a comprehensive digital hermeneutical framework for Quranic exegesis relevant to contemporary needs.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of gadget screen time on the emotional development of young children at SPS Tastbitul Fuad. Employing a quantitative approach supported by observation and questionnaires, the research investigates how the duration and intensity of screen use influence children's emotional well-being. The findings reveal that screen time has a noticeable effect on emotional development, as prolonged or unregulated use may lead to reduced empathy, irritability, and difficulty managing emotions. Nevertheless, the influence of screen time alone is relatively limited. Emotional growth in early childhood is shaped more substantially by environmental factors, such as parenting styles, the quality of communication between parents and children, and opportunities for social interaction with peers. These aspects are more crucial in helping children recognize, express, and regulate their emotions appropriately. Therefore, while screen time contributes to emotional changes, it should be managed carefully and balanced with positive interactions and guidance from parents and teachers to support healthy emotional development in young children.
