Abstract

Suicidal ideation among university students has become a significant global mental health issue. Academic, social, and economic pressures increase students’ vulnerability to suicidal thoughts. Despite the growing number of studies, there is still no comprehensive bibliometric mapping that synthesizes research trends, risk factors, and interventions for the student population. This study aims to investigate the research trends related to suicidal ideation in students, identify contributing factors, and evaluate effective interventions. By employing a bibliometric approach and conducting a visual analysis of 382 documents from Scopus, the study uncovers common patterns and strategies that can be utilized to address this issue. The findings indicate that key risk factors include poor mental health, depression, and hopelessness. In contrast, social support, hope, and gratitude are emphasized as potential protective factors. Effective interventions identified in this study encompass enhancing social support, improving coping skills, ensuring access to mental health services, and implementing positive psychology-based therapies. This study has several limitations. The analysis is restricted to Scopus-indexed documents and depends on metadata quality, which may exclude relevant studies and introduce bias into the interpretation of results. Future research should incorporate additional databases, employ mixed-method designs, and test interventions grounded in a biopsychosocial–spiritual paradigm, including cybercounseling formats, to reduce suicidal desire and suicidal ideation among university students.

Abstract

The adolescent mental health crisis, characterized by the rising prevalence of anxiety, depression, and academic stress, necessitates empirically validated psychological interventions. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a primary approach for addressing mental health issues among adolescents. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, the research analyzes eight Scopus-indexed scientific articles. Results indicate that CBT significantly reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression while enhancing adolescents’ emotion regulation skills. The approach’s flexibility is further demonstrated by its adaptation across diverse service contexts, including digital interventions such as computerized CBT (C-CBT) and internet-based CBT (ICBT). As an effective and adaptable evidence-based intervention for improving adolescent mental well-being, CBT is recommended for integration into psychological support programs in both clinical and educational settings.

Abstract

Aim: This study aims to examine the CIPP evaluation model as a decision-making tool in the development of Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling programs through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The review was conducted on 12 reputable scientific articles selected based on the PRISMA protocol from a scholarly search engine, namely Google Scholar. Data analysis utilized thematic synthesis to systematically identify patterns of findings across studies. The results of the study addressed two main research questions. First, the CIPP model has been widely applied in various contexts of Guidance and Counseling (BK) programs within educational institutions, demonstrating the ability to comprehensively diagnose program conditions across all components: context, input, process, and product. Second, the CIPP model significantly contributes as a decision-making tool in Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling programs, both structurally in evaluating program aspects and strategically in supporting data-driven counselor accountability. These findings imply that the consistent application of the CIPP model can improve the quality of guidance and counseling services, strengthen counselors’ professional competencies, and provide an empirical foundation for educational policy-making oriented toward the optimal development of students.
