Abstract

Nurses are health professionals who face high workloads, both physically and mentally. Work-related stres within healthcare organizations is an important issue that needs attention due to increasing demands for efficiency and responsibility in providing care. This study aimed to examine the relationship between workload and work stres levels among nurses in the Inpatient Unit of Malahayati Islamic Hospital, Medan City. The study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design and involved 66 nurses selected using the cluster random sampling technique. The research instruments consisted of workload and work stres questionnaires, and the data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 0.05. The results of the statistical analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between workload and work stres levels in nurses, with a p-value of 0.004 (p <0.05). However, the relationship was not always linear, as some nurses with low workloads experienced high stres, while high workloads were not always accompanied by high stres levels. The study concludes that there is a significant relationship between workload and nurses' work stres. It is recommended that hospitals conduct regular evaluations of nurses' workloads and encourage them to enhance time management and stres management skills through spiritual approach.

Abstract

Health is a crucial factor in supporting the work productivity of State Civil Apparatus (ASN). However, busy schedules and high work mobility often lead ASN to neglect their health, including routine health checks. The low participation of ASN in free health checks indicates a limited awareness of the importance of early disease detection and healthy living. This study aims to analyze the level of awareness of healthy living through health checks among ASN in Medan City and to explore the work and mobility factors that influence this behavior. The approach used was descriptive qualitative, with data collected through in-depth interviews with informants from ASN in Medan City government agencies. The results showed that the majority of ASN understand the importance of maintaining health, but awareness of consistently undergoing health checks remains low. The main factors influencing this are high workloads, limited time, and the perception that physical conditions are still "healthy" so that check-ups are not considered urgent. However, some informants stated that support from the agency, easy access to services, and interesting and interactive outreach can increase their motivation to participate in healthchecks.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Hospital Health Promotion (PKRS) at the Special Pulmonary Hospital Technical Implementation Unit of North Sumatra Province in 2025. The background of the study is based on the importance of PKRS in increasing the awareness, attitude, and healthy behavior of patients and their families, as well as supporting the achievement of public health status. The study uses a qualitative approach with observation and in-depth interviews with PKRS officers, as well as a review of hospital documents. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of PKRS has been going quite well, marked by the existence of a special PKRS unit and support from hospital management through the preparation of SOPs and regular monitoring and evaluation. Health promotion activities are carried out through individual or group counseling, as well as utilizing print, electronic, and social media. Thus, the study found several obstacles, including budget limitations, infrastructure, and patients' limited time to participate in education. The program's accessibility is considered quite good because health information can be accessed through various hospital services and social media. Overall, the PKRS at UPTD RS Khusus Paru PROVSU has been implemented according to standards, although it still requires reinforcement in terms of resources and budget support to reach a wider audience and be sustainable.

Abstract

Indonesia is the country with the second highest TB burden in the world, but the treatment success rate is still below the 2020-2024 Strategic Plan target of ≥90%. Incomplete treatment increases the risk of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), which is difficult and expensive to treat, thereby worsening Indonesia's health system. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the success of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) treatment at the Provincial Specialized Pulmonary Hospital (UPTD RS Khusus Paru Pemprovsu) during the period 2020–2023. Using a case-control design with a retrospective observational analytical approach and simple random sampling (SRS) technique, this study involved 266 respondents, consisting of 133 cases and 133 controls. Data analysis was performed using univariate, bivariate (chi-square test), and multivariate (binary logistic regression) methods. The results showed that age, gender, employment status, comorbidity status, and treatment regimen type were significantly associated with TB treatment success. The treatment regimen type factor had the most significant influence, with patients in regimen category 1 having an almost seven times greater chance of recovery (OR 6.857, p-value 0.001).
