Abstract

Rainfall prediction plays an important role in understanding the pattern of rainfall movement for daily life. This research aims to predict monthly rainfall in Medan Belawan using the Tsukamoto fuzzy logic method. Tsukamoto fuzzy logic is used to predict monthly rainfall in Medan Belawan. This method uses several steps, starting from data input, fuzzification, inference, to defuzzification to help predict rainfall. This research aims to apply Tsukamoto fuzzy logic to monthly rainfall prediction. Fuzzy logic has tolerance for imprecise data. This rainfall prediction uses 4 (four) input variables, namely air temperature, air humidity, air pressure and wind speed, and 1 (one) output variable, namely rainfall as a crips value which is the output generated for rainfall prediction. The data used is 12 monthly data from January 2023 to December 2023. The results show the accuracy of the fuzzy method of 57.75% using the MAPE calculation and show that the calculation of the Tsukamoto fuzzy method is sufficient or feasible to do.

Abstract

Sentiment analysis is widely used to classify opinions expressed in textual data; however, many previous studies employing Support Vector Machine (SVM) do not explicitly address parameter optimization, which can lead to suboptimal classification performance. To address this research gap, this study integrates Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to optimize key SVM parameters for sentiment analysis of Shopee application reviews. The dataset consists of 1,000 Indonesian language user reviews collected from the Google Play Store between January and August 2025. Text preprocessing was conducted prior to feature extraction using the Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) method. PSO was applied to optimize the kernel parameters, penalty parameter (C), and gamma value of the SVM model. The results demonstrate that PSO-based optimization significantly improves classification performance, increasing accuracy from 86.0% to 90.0%, precision from 86.9% to 90.6%, recall from 87.6% to 91.2%, and F1-score from 87.2% to 90.9%. Additionally, positive reviews are dominated by keywords such as “cheap,” “fast,” and “free shipping,” while negative reviews frequently contain terms such as “error” and “slow.” These findings confirm that PSO effectively enhances SVM performance and provides reliable insights into user sentiment toward e-commerce applications.

Abstract

The rapid urban expansion of Medan City has intensified the complexity of municipal waste transportation, where limited fleet capacity, congested road segments, and long travel distances to the Terjun disposal site result in high operational costs and excessive carbon monoxide (CO) emissions. In addition, daily fluctuations in waste volume introduce uncertainty that disrupts routing efficiency and increases the risk of vehicle overload. This study proposes a Robust Optimization based Green Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem model to minimize transportation cost and CO emissions while maintaining route feasibility under demand uncertainty. The model incorporates a Hamiltonian circuit structure to ensure closed-loop routing and applies the Nearest Neighbor Algorithm (NNA) as a constructive heuristic for generating initial solutions. Compared to commonly used methods such as the Clarke–Wright Savings algorithm, NNA provides faster computational performance, simpler implementation, and more stable feasible routes when integrated with robust capacity constraints. Using real CO emission data from major arterials in Medan, the model was evaluated across multiple uncertainty levels (Γ = 0–6). The results show that the robust model reduces overload risk by up to 12%, lowers total emission cost by approximately 5% relative to the deterministic solution, and produces more environmentally efficient routing decisions even when route distance increases slightly. From an analytical perspective, the RO Green-CVRP framework enables evaluation from operational, environmental, and robustness performance dimensions. This research contributes theoretically to green robust optimization and practically supports the development of adaptive, low-emission waste transportation strategies aligned with Medan’s sustainable urban development goals.

Abstract

Background: Perlang Village, located in Central Bangka Regency, is recognized as one of the earliest halal tourism villages in Indonesia; however, it has experienced a decline in brand strength due to limited digital literacy, simple promotional strategies, and the community’s insufficient understanding of comprehensive halal tourism concepts. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to strengthen Perlang Village's branding as a halal tourism destination by enhancing community capacity in digital marketing, promotional content development, and the use of digital marketing tools. The method applied is the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which emphasizes the strengthening of local assets and active community involvement. Method: supported by in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to map the village's potential and needs. The program was conducted through a series of training activities, including the introduction to halal tourism concepts, tourism package development, digital marketing practices, and a final evaluation. Results: Increase in participants’ understanding of digital marketing strategies, their ability to produce informative promotional content, and their skills in using digital tools to expand the reach of halal tourism. Although a slight decline was observed in certain post-test indicators, this reflects participants' improved reflective awareness of higher competency standards. Overall, the program generated a positive impact in revitalizing the image of Perlang Village as a competitive halal tourism destination. Conclusion: Moving forward, continued assistance and periodic monitoring are required to ensure that Perlang Village’s branding remains strong and sustainable in attracting tourists.

Abstract

Effective inventory management is a determining factor in the probability and sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).  Adjusting the ideal stock of each product type that has to be distributed while taking perishable items, storage capacity constraints, and client demand unpredictability into account is a difficulty. Stock allocation must maximize profit while adhering to intricate constraints and particular item number limitations in the multiple-constraints Knapsack problem. This research aims to apply the Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) algorithm to the multiple constraints bounded Knapsack problem for optimal stock allocation while increasing profitability for MSMEs by comparing the ideal value of the simplex technique. The population parameter (Npop) and the maximum iteration (Max Iter) were the two parameters used to test the GWO method. According to sensitivity analysis, the GWO algorithm optimization study was less successful in producing the best outcomes. This resulted from a discrepancy between the simplex method's IDR 9,508,000 profit optimization and GWO's IDR 9,440,000. Nonetheless, the GWO method was almost ideal, as indicated by the deviation percentage of 0.7152%. The study highlights the applicability of metaheuristic optimization for MSME management inventory, offering a near-optimal solution with minimal deviation from analytical results. Limitations include the single-case scope and parameter sensitivity of the GWO algorithm.

Abstract

Public administrative services require speed, effectiveness, and efficiency to meet community expectations. At the Civil Registration Office of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency, the issuance of identity cards (KTP) often experiences long queues, especially on specific days such as the beginning of the week and after major holidays. This study aims to analyze the performance of the current queuing system and determine the most appropriate model to improve service quality. A qualitative case study approach was used, supported by primary data obtained through direct observation of customer arrivals and service duration over five working days. Queueing theory was applied to test the distribution of arrivals and service times as well as evaluate system performance indicators. The results show that arrival patterns follow a Poisson distribution while service times follow an exponential distribution. The appropriate model for the system is the Multi Channel–Multi Phase (M/M/C):(GD/) queue. The highest utility rate occurred at entrance 2, reaching 30%, yet the average waiting time remained low at 0.18–0.24 minutes. Thus, the current queuing system is considered effective and capable of managing service demand without causing critical congestion.

Abstract

Divorce is a court decision on the termination of a marriage. Divorce brings with it a negative impact, especially on the children of the couple's marriage. Children who are victims of divorce tend to be prone to feeling afraid, sad, guilty to trigger stress and depression in children which then has a bad impact on relationships during the child's growth and development. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an analysis to find out the factors of divorce. In this research, the analysis used is binary logistic regression with the response variables in the binary category of divorce, namely “cerai talak” and “cerai gugat”. While the stimulus variables in this study were 13 objects obtained based on secondary data documentation of Courts. The results of this research are obtained five factors that have a significant effect, namely age at marriage and profession of who filing for divorce and divorce defendant, as well as the education of who filing for divorce. The interpretation of the results of binary logistic regression analysis shows that, the age of divorced defendant at the time of marriage has a 1,15 times greater effect on the cerai gugat, while the age of who filed for divorce has a 0.68 times greater effect on the cerai talak. Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of identifying the economic structure and leading sectors of a region as a basis for regional economic development planning. Karo Regency, as one of the regions in North Sumatra Province, has economic potential that needs to be analyzed to determine sectors with comparative advantages. The purpose of this study is to identify base and non-base sectors in Karo Regency. The method used in this research is the Location Quotient (LQ) method with a descriptive quantitative approach. The data used are Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at constant prices by sector for the period 2021–2023 obtained from official publications of Badan Pusat Statistik Kabupaten Karo and Badan Pusat Statistik. The results show that the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector is a base sector with a comparative advantage in Karo Regency, indicated by an LQ value greater than one. Meanwhile, most other sectors are classified as non-base sectors with relatively smaller contributions compared to the provincial level. These findings indicate that the economic structure of Karo Regency is still dominated by the primary sector. The implication of this study is the need for development policies that focus on strengthening leading sectors while also promoting the development of non-base sectors to achieve a more balanced and sustainable economic structure.
