Abstract

This study examines how female representation in vocational high school leadership contributes to organizational productivity in gender-associated school environments in West Java, Indonesia. Grounded in the argument that leadership diversity is not only an equality concern but also an institutional resource, the study employed a qualitative narrative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured narrative interviews with six female principals from vocational high schools whose organizational settings were marked by gendered assumptions in fields such as mechanics, automotive, and patisserie. The findings reveal three central themes: leadership legitimacy as a condition for institutional productivity, adaptive relational leadership as a mechanism of organizational coordination, and female leadership as a contributor to school productivity through trust, discipline, communication, and program continuity. The study concludes that female representation in school leadership should be understood not merely as symbolic inclusion, but as a productive pathway toward more responsive, coordinated, and effective educational organizations in contemporary Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines school culture transformation as a foundation for sustainable teacher professional development by analyzing how collaborative leadership is associated with the development of collaborative cultural practices in Indonesian elementary schools. Using a mixed-methods sequential exploratory design, data were collected from 298 teachers across 51 public schools in Purwakarta District and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that collaborative leadership significantly predicts the development of a collaborative school culture, which in turn is positively related to teacher professional growth and performance. The model explained approximately 30% of the variance in collaborative culture and 38% in teacher performance, with cultural transformation acting as a partial mediator between leadership and teacher outcomes. These results suggest that improvements are associated with processes such as fostering trust and psychological safety, strengthening shared purpose and collective efficacy, and embedding collaborative and reflective routines within school practices. The study concludes that collaborative leadership serves as an important enabling factor in strengthening teacher development and supporting school culture transformation, while emphasizing that such transformation is context-dependent and shaped by broader organizational conditions within Indonesian schools.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation in education has exposed a clear generational gap among teachers in mastering digital literacy. Younger teachers tend to navigate technology with greater ease, while senior teachers often encounter barriers that affect their confidence and classroom performance. This study aims to explore how educational leadership can help bridge this generational divide and enhance teachers’ digital competence. Adopting a systematic literature review guided by the PRISMA framework, the analysis covered studies published between 2020 and 2025 from major databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, and ERIC. The findings show that leadership practices emphasizing empathy, collaboration, and continuous learning are most effective in reducing generational gaps and fostering inclusive digital competence. However, existing frameworks rarely integrate generational diversity, leadership behavior, and performance management within one conceptual model. This study introduces the concept of Adaptive Intergenerational Leadership (AIL), a synthesis that combines transformational and adaptive leadership principles to foster bidirectional learning between digital native and digital immigrant teachers. The results contribute to educational leadership theory and offer practical implications for developing inclusive, innovative, and human centered school ecosystems in the digital era.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture and faculty management on motivation and their role in enhancing the competitiveness of higher education institutions. The research is grounded in the growing demands placed on universities to improve their internal organizational quality in order to compete at national and global levels. A quantitative approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) through SmartPLS. The data were collected from permanent lecturers using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The analysis consisted of two stages, namely the assessment of the outer model and the inner model, although the available document presents only the results of the outer model. The findings indicate that all constructs, Organizational Culture, Faculty Management, Motivation, and Institutional Competitiveness, meet the criteria for validity and reliability. The indicators show strong outer loading values, AVE scores above the required threshold, and high Cronbach’s Alpha and Composite Reliability values. These results demonstrate that the measurement instruments used in the study are robust and highly reliable. Substantively, the findings reveal that organizational culture and faculty management are perceived positively by respondents, and motivation emerges as a significant variable reflecting the institution’s readiness to compete. The study concludes that strengthening organizational culture, improving faculty management, and fostering lecturer motivation are strategic factors in enhancing institutional competitiveness. It is recommended that higher education institutions reinforce the internalization of organizational values, develop systematic faculty management programs, and create a supportive work environment that promotes motivation and academic performance. Simpulan penelitian menyatakan bahwa penguatan budaya organisasi, efektivitas manajemen dosen, dan pengembangan motivasi merupakan faktor strategis bagi peningkatan daya saing institusi. Penelitian menyarankan agar perguruan tinggi meningkatkan internalisasi nilai organisasi, memperkuat pengembangan dosen secara sistematis, serta menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang mampu mendorong motivasi dan kinerja akademik. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze and formulate a POAC-based management model for pesantren students’ self-development oriented toward character excellence at Pesantren Terpadu Almuslim, Bireuen Regency. The study responds to the need for pesantren to manage students’ self-development not merely as routine extracurricular activities, but as an integrated character-building system supported by planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies involving pesantren leaders, teachers, dormitory supervisors, student organization administrators, and parents. Data were analyzed through reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, while validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that planning was based on the pesantren’s vision, mission, Islamic values, and student development needs, although measurable character indicators were not fully documented. Organizing involved leaders, teachers, supervisors, student administrators, and parents, but supervisor placement still required competency-based mapping. Actuating was implemented through habituation, role modeling, and active participation in worship, dormitory life, extracurricular activities, social programs, and leadership training. Controlling was conducted through tiered monitoring, guidance, evaluation, rewards, and sanctions, although character assessment instruments still needed standardization. The study concludes that the POAC-based model is integrative, participatory, and contextual in shaping religiosity, discipline, independence, responsibility, leadership, and social awareness. Pesantren are advised to strengthen program documentation, supervisor competency mapping, reflective activities, and standardized character evaluation instruments. Future researchers may test the model quantitatively in other pesantren contexts to examine its effectiveness, scalability, and empirical contribution to broader character excellence sustainably. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan berbasis pada visi, misi, nilai Islam, dan kebutuhan pembinaan santri, meskipun indikator capaian karakter belum terdokumentasi secara lengkap. Pengorganisasian melibatkan pimpinan, guru, pembina, pengurus santri, dan wali santri, namun penempatan pembina masih memerlukan pemetaan kompetensi. Pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui pembiasaan, keteladanan, dan partisipasi aktif dalam ibadah, kehidupan asrama, ekstrakurikuler, kegiatan sosial, dan pelatihan kepemimpinan. Pengawasan berjalan melalui monitoring berjenjang, pembinaan, evaluasi, penghargaan, dan sanksi, tetapi instrumen evaluasi karakter masih perlu distandardisasi. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa model POAC bersifat integratif, partisipatif, dan kontekstual dalam membentuk religiusitas, disiplin, kemandirian, tanggung jawab, kepemimpinan, dan kepedulian sosial. Pesantren disarankan memperkuat dokumentasi program, pemetaan kompetensi pembina, kegiatan reflektif, dan instrumen evaluasi karakter terstandar. Peneliti selanjutnya dapat menguji model ini secara kuantitatif pada pesantren lain untuk menilai efektivitas, keterukuran, keberlanjutan, dan kemungkinan replikasinya dalam pengembangan karakter santri secara lebih luas di berbagai konteks pendidikan Islam modern masa kini. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the dynamics and global trends of scientific publications on transformational leadership and teacher performance using a bibliometric approach. The main focus of this research is to map the development of studies, intellectual structure, networks of authors, institutions, countries, and dominant research themes over the last five years. The method employed is bibliometric analysis with data sourced from the Scopus database. The data were analyzed using VOSviewer software to visualize keyword networks, author collaboration, and institutional affiliations, and were further examined descriptively based on publication and citation patterns. The results indicate that publications on transformational leadership and teacher performance have increased significantly after 2020, with Indonesia emerging as the most productive contributing country. Keyword mapping shows that “transformational leadership” serves as the central node strongly connected with “teacher performance,” “motivation,” and “job satisfaction.” These findings suggest that the influence of transformational leadership on teacher performance is predominantly indirect and mediated by psychological and organizational factors. In conclusion, this study confirms that transformational leadership plays a strong, systemic, and sustainable role in enhancing teacher performance. It is recommended that future research integrate digital leadership and local cultural values, as well as apply more diverse methodological approaches, to further enrich the development of knowledge in the field of educational management. Keywords: Transformational leadership; Teacher performance; Educational management; Bibliometric analysis; Work motivation Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika dan tren global publikasi ilmiah mengenai kepemimpinan transformasional dan kinerja guru melalui pendekatan bibliometrik. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah memetakan perkembangan penelitian, struktur intelektual, jejaring penulis, institusi, negara, serta tema-tema utama yang berkembang dalam lima tahun terakhir. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis bibliometrik dengan sumber data berasal dari basis data Scopus. Data dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak VOSviewer untuk memvisualisasikan jaringan kata kunci, penulis, dan afiliasi, serta dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan jumlah publikasi dan sitasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa publikasi mengenai kepemimpinan transformasional dan kinerja guru mengalami peningkatan signifikan setelah tahun 2020, dengan Indonesia sebagai negara penyumbang publikasi terbanyak. Peta kata kunci menunjukkan bahwa “transformational leadership” merupakan simpul utama yang terhubung erat dengan “teacher performance”, “motivation”, dan “job satisfaction”. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap kinerja guru bersifat tidak langsung dan dimediasi oleh faktor psikologis serta organisasi. Simpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional memiliki peran yang kuat, sistemik, dan berkelanjutan dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the dynamics and global trends of scientific publications on transformational leadership and teacher performance using a bibliometric approach. The main focus of this research is to map the development of studies, intellectual structure, networks of authors, institutions, countries, and dominant research themes over the last five years. The method employed is bibliometric analysis with data sourced from the Scopus database. The data were analyzed using VOSviewer software to visualize keyword networks, author collaboration, and institutional affiliations, and were further examined descriptively based on publication and citation patterns. The results indicate that publications on transformational leadership and teacher performance have increased significantly after 2020, with Indonesia emerging as the most productive contributing country. Keyword mapping shows that “transformational leadership” serves as the central node strongly connected with “teacher performance,” “motivation,” and “job satisfaction.” These findings suggest that the influence of transformational leadership on teacher performance is predominantly indirect and mediated by psychological and organizational factors. In conclusion, this study confirms that transformational leadership plays a strong, systemic, and sustainable role in enhancing teacher performance. It is recommended that future research integrate digital leadership and local cultural values, as well as apply more diverse methodological approaches, to further enrich the development of knowledge in the field of educational management. Keywords: Transformational leadership; Teacher performance; Educational management; Bibliometric analysis; Work motivation Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika dan tren global publikasi ilmiah mengenai kepemimpinan transformasional dan kinerja guru melalui pendekatan bibliometrik. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah memetakan perkembangan penelitian, struktur intelektual, jejaring penulis, institusi, negara, serta tema-tema utama yang berkembang dalam lima tahun terakhir. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis bibliometrik dengan sumber data berasal dari basis data Scopus. Data dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak VOSviewer untuk memvisualisasikan jaringan kata kunci, penulis, dan afiliasi, serta dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan jumlah publikasi dan sitasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa publikasi mengenai kepemimpinan transformasional dan kinerja guru mengalami peningkatan signifikan setelah tahun 2020, dengan Indonesia sebagai negara penyumbang publikasi terbanyak. Peta kata kunci menunjukkan bahwa “transformational leadership” merupakan simpul utama yang terhubung erat dengan “teacher performance”, “motivation”, dan “job satisfaction”. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap kinerja guru bersifat tidak langsung dan dimediasi oleh faktor psikologis serta organisasi. Simpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional memiliki peran yang kuat, sistemik, dan berkelanjutan dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. Abstract

Deep learning is a new learning approach that enables students to develop higher-order thinking skills. This study aims to examine the role of principals’ empowering leadership in enhancing teacher performance in the implementation of deep learning in primary education. The study offers novelty through the integration of empowering leadership, deep learning pedagogy, and collaborative school culture in explaining improvements in teacher performance. Using a qualitative case study design at SD Labschool UPI Purwakarta, this research involved one principal, two teachers, and four students. Data were collected over two months through interviews, classroom observations, and Likert-scale questionnaires measuring teachers’ and students’ perceptions of deep learning implementation, and were analyzed using an interactive thematic approach involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that principals’ empowering leadership is manifested through three main practices: building professional trust, encouraging participative decision-making, and facilitating continuous professional learning and instructional innovation. These practices strengthen teachers’ capacity to implement deep learning effectively through reflective practice, pedagogical autonomy, and meaningful student engagement. In addition, a collaborative and reflective school culture emerged as an important enabling factor that mediates and reinforces the influence of empowering leadership on teacher performance. This study highlights that empowering leadership functions not only as a managerial practice but also as a transformative force in building collective professional capacity and sustaining instructional quality improvement in primary education.
