Abstract

The low scientific literacy in Indonesia shows that students don’t understand the concepts, processes, and applications of science in life. This can be overcome by the application of teaching aids in learning activities, by literacy tree. The research was conducted with the aim of knowing an increase in students' scientific literacy by applying the media literacy tree to science subjects. This research is an experimental study with a true experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample selection in this study used a cluster random sampling technique, taking a sample of 64 students who were divided into the experimental group and the control group. The results of the study indicate that the average N-Gain test in the experimental is 0.6 and the control is 0.4. The results of the statistical test tcount > ttable, means a significant difference between the control and experimental groups. The study concluded the scientific literacy of the experimental by applying the literacy tree media was superior to the scientific literacy of the control by applying conventional media so that the application of the literacy tree media into learning activities could improve students' scientific literacy in science lessons.

Abstract

This research aims to produce WEPMA on feasible work and energy materials in terms of materials, media, and educator responses. The research method used is research and development (R&D), using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The product developed is a mobile phone-based physics learning media on business and energy material which consists of 6 main components: homepage, competency, material, simulation, quiz, and profile. The results showed that WEPMA could be used as a teaching medium in the physics subject of work and energy based on expert judgment with outstanding categories for media, materials, and educator responses.

Abstract

Physics learning is the process of students mastering mathematical concepts in life that are solved through complicated formulas. The research aims to determine the effect and increase in students' conceptual understanding and science generic skills in physics lessons. This research belongs to the experimental research type with a quasi-experimental design using the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sample selection used Nonprobability sampling (total or saturated sample) consisting of 18 eighth-grade students. Data collection techniques used tests and observations. The statistical test results show that tcount < ttable indicates the influence of using the learning model. The study concludes that the use of the MASTER (Motivating, Acquiring, Searching, Triggering, Exhibiting, and Reflecting) learning model with discussion methods can improve students' conceptual understanding and science generic skills in physics. The application of the MASTER learning model is able to improve students' conceptual understanding and science generic skills as seen from the test results before and after treatment, with the post-treatment test results being higher than the pre-treatment test results. The research results show the N-Gain test results for the conceptual understanding variable at 0.18 and for the science generic skills variable at 0.7.

Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development impacts the need for skills in daily life, education, or work. Everyone needs the 4C skills associated with digital skills. Based on the literature review results, there is not much information about the concept of 4C digital skills. So this research will examine what aspects are needed in 4C digital skills. Another objective of this research is to analyze the 4C digital skills of a pre-service physics teacher. This research uses a literature review and survey methods. The subjects in this study were students of the UNSIQ Physics Education Study Program in the 2022/2023 academic year. There are two collection techniques, namely, literature study and questionnaires. Data from the questionnaire will be analyzed by calculating the percentage of each aspect and then determining the categories divided into five, namely very high, high, medium, low, and very low. The findings in this study are that the 4C skills in a digital context can be divided into 4 (four) aspects: critical thinking digital skills, creative digital skills, collaboration digital skills, communication digital skills. These skills are super skills individuals need to succeed in work and education. The results of a survey by the Department of Physics Education, UNSIQ, found creative digital skills as the lowest aspect with a value of 57.35% (low category). In comparison, collaboration digital skills became the highest aspect with a value of 72.20% (high category). Another aspect, namely critical thinking digital skills (61.66%) and communication digital skills (69.24%), are in the medium category.

Abstract

Globalization and the world's growing free market demand a capability that must be mastered by the younger generation. One of the skills that must be possessed is literacy skills, where this ability will shape the knowledge of Indonesia's younger generation in facing the era of globalization. Various efforts have been made to develop students' scientific literacy abilities, as research has been conducted to develop scientific literacy by giving students training questions. The development of globalization and the world's free market apart from having a positive impact, namely demanding skills that must be mastered, also has a negative impact. The negative impact of the development of globalization is the rapid spread of culture. The rapid spread of culture that occurred in the era of globalization can be seen in the environment around us, where the younger generation of Indonesia prefers foreign culture to native Indonesian culture. This is a loud alarm that requires special attention to be addressed immediately. The results of the research show that a Science Worked Example product has been produced in the context of Wonosobo local wisdom that is appropriate based on expert judgment both in terms of media and material.

Abstract

The demands of the digital era produce students who are digital netive and tend to be anti-social in learning, so there is a need for learning that is humanistic and characterizes Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to find out how to digitize the application of the teachings of Ki-Hadjar-Dewantara in the Neo-Guided Inquiry learning process to develop ideal student literacy and numeracy skills. This research is a classroom action research that adopts the McKernan model that combines quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative methods use questionnaires to measure the achievement of learning indicators, self-assessment to see the level of success in applying learning, and assessment sheets to see the results of forming students' literacy and numeracy abilities. Qualitative methods using observation sheets to explore empirically the problems that arise, the process of implementing and evaluating Neo-Guided Inquiry learning. Focus group discussion to collect data on problem description, needs assessment and learning evaluation. The average result of assessing students' literacy and numeracy abilities in the second cycle was 86.4 which was classified as very high, and the practicality level of the self-assessment results of 95.75% was included in the very good category, so that its application was declared very successful.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi bukanlah kemampuan yang hanya sekadar menghafal saja. Melalui kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa mampu mengolah informasi yang didapatkannya guna menyelesaikan masalah dalam kehidupan kesehariannya. Namun, dilain sisi kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa Indonesia masih rendah. Hal itu ditunjukan oleh survey yang dilakukan PISA dan TIMSS. Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dapat ditingkatkan menggunakan bahan ajar yang tepat dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbedaan dan seberapa besar peningkatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi antara kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan Science Worked Example dalam konteks kearifan lokal Wonosobo dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan data berupa tes yaitu adanya pretest dan posttest dan dokumentasi. Uji hipotesis dalam penelitian menggunakan Uji-t dan dan Uji N-Gain dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pertama, kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol berbeda. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan ditolak dan diterima. Kedua, sesuai dengan pengujian hipotesis dengan N-gain terbukti bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi atau HOTS dengan menggunakan Science Worked Example dalam Konteks Kearifan Lokal Wonosobo.

Abstract

This research regarding applying science-worked examples in the context of local wisdom to improve students' problem-solving abilities is motivated by students' low problem-solving abilities, especially in science-physics learning. Students' standard problem-solving abilities are due to the lack of practice in the learning process. Through the application of Science Worked Examples, it is hoped that it will be able to help students in the learning process so that they can grow students' problem-solving abilities. The type of research used in this research is a quantitative method with an experimental approach. The subjects used in this research were class VIII A as a control sample and class VIII B as a testing sample at SMP N 2 Garung. The research results showed an increase of 31.9% in the control sample using conventional teaching materials and a rise of 44.1% in the experimental sample using Science Worked Examples. The effectiveness obtained using the N-Gain test was 1.38, so it was concluded that there was a difference in effective improvement where learning with worked example science teaching materials was stated to be more effective.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the concept of physics in the form of an ideal gas and thermodynamics in the flight of lanterns in the Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) series of events. This research is a qualitative research with literature study method because the data used comes from books, journals, and other documents. The findings in this study are in the form of physics concepts in the flight of lanterns in the series of DCF events. The conclusion is that the series of DCF events, namely the lantern festival, can be related to physics, namely ideal gases and thermodynamics. The relationship between ideal gases can be seen by eg a problem related to a lantern which is solved by the ideal gas formula while in thermodynamics it is related to the thermodynamics of closed systems.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Pertambahan jumlah penduduk diiringi dengan kegiatan masyarakat menyebabkan banyaknya kuantitas sampah menjadi bertambah, sampah yang melebihi kapasitas jika tidak ditangani dengan baik akan menjadi masalah, tidak hanya berdampak pada masyarakat tetapi berdampak juga pada lingkungan tanah. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab timbulan sampah yang melebihi kapasitas, bagaimana dampak timbulan sampah di TPA Wonorejo terhadap tanah. Metode: Pada penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengambilan data  observasi, mengidentifikasi warna tanah dan struktur tanah yang dialakukan secara langsung sebagai gambaran nyata yang dapat dijadikan sebagai data yang diperoleh saat observasi di TPA Wonorejo. Jenis data yang digunakan berupa data primer dan data sekunder dengan teknik analisis data observasi langsung kepada sasaran observasi dan dampak lingkungan yang terjadi yang bersifat terbuka. Hasil: Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa dampak timbulan sampah ini dapat menyebabkan lingkungan tanah yang tercemar yang dilihat dari indikator secara fisik pencemaran tanah yang meliputi tanah gersang dan kering. Kesimpulan: Tanah yang tertutup sampah dapat mengahasilkan gas nitrogen, asam fluida, dan zat merkuri. Selain itu pencemaran tanah dapat menyebabkan gangguan terhadap bio tanah seperti tumbuhan yang tidak bisa hidup di dalam tanah yang tercemar menimbulkan suatu makhluk hidup yang hidup di tanah yang memanfaatkan unsur hara tanah mati hal ini terjadi karena sifat kesuburan tanahnya hilang.
