Abstract

This study was motivated by the low speaking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 20 Piai, Padang City. The problems were indicated by: (1) students still feeling hesitant and shy when asked to speak about the material explained by the teacher; (2) when speaking, students often seemed to run out of words, resulting in frequent pauses to recall what they intended to say; (3) students’ vocabulary mastery was still relatively low, which impacted their difficulty in constructing sentences and expressing ideas orally; and (4) students were not yet accustomed to speaking actively during the learning process. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of students’ speaking skills through the use of the cooperative learning model of the Example Non Example type in the fourth grade of SDN 20 Piai, Padang City. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) employing both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The subjects of this study were the teacher and 27 fourth-grade students of SDN 20 Piai. The results of the study showed an improvement in students’ speaking skills. The average speaking skill score increased from 72.04 with a mastery percentage of 33.33% in Cycle I Meeting 1 to 77.96 with a mastery percentage of 55.55% in Cycle I Meeting 2, and further increased to 84.07 with a mastery percentage of 85.28% in Cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of the Example Non Example type is effective in improving the speaking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 20 Piai, Padang City.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in speaking skills in grade V of SDN 14 Koto Lalang, Padang City. This study aims to describe the improvement of speaking skills in Indonesian language learning using the Paired Storytelling cooperative learning model. The type of research used is classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the research were 28 grade V students of SDN 14 Koto Lalang, Padang City. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, tests, and documentation. The results of the study showed an increase in each cycle. In terms of learning planning, there was an increase from the good category to very good. The implementation of learning also experienced an increase until it reached the very good category. Meanwhile, the results of students' speaking skills experienced an increase from an average score of 74.1 in the first meeting of cycle I to 80.2 in the second meeting, and increased again to 85.2 in cycle II with a level of completeness that has met the success indicators. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the Paired Storytelling type of cooperative learning model can improve the speaking skills of students in class V of SDN 14 Koto Lalang, Padang City.

Abstract

Procedural text writing skills among elementary school students remain relatively low, particularly in constructing effective sentences and organizing sequential steps, which leads to suboptimal learning outcomes. This condition is reflected in the number of students who have not achieved the minimum mastery criteria. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of picture series media on students’ procedural text writing skills at the fourth-grade level of SDN 33 Sawahan Padang. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group in a post-test only format. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, consisting of class IV A as the experimental group (23 students) and class IV C as the control group (22 students). Data were collected through writing tests and observation, and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney nonparametric test after normality and homogeneity assumptions were not met. The results revealed a significant difference between the two groups with a significance value of 0.049 < 0.05. The experimental class obtained a higher mean score (92) compared to the control class (81), and a higher mean rank (26.63 vs. 19.20). These findings indicate that picture series media has a positive and significant effect on improving procedural text writing skills, particularly in organizing steps, completing text structure, and using appropriate language.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the advancement of digital technology in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, which indirectly encourages the use of AI in improving the learning process. On the other hand, reflective learning is an important approach in teacher education because it can develop critical thinking skills, metacognitive awareness, and the ability to evaluate learning experiences. However, the application of reflective learning in the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) still faces limitations, especially in the reflection process, which is not optimally supported by digital technology. This study aims to examine and formulate a model for integrating Artificial Intelligence into reflective learning in the PGSD Study Program. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review method. The study method analyzes various relevant scientific sources. The results of the study indicate that AI integration can support reflective learning through learning data analysis, providing automatic feedback, and personalizing the student learning process. This integration has the potential to improve the quality of learning reflection and support the development of prospective teacher competencies that are adaptive to developments in educational technology.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the field of education, including the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI), which is increasingly being used to support the learning process. One of the most notable benefits of AI is its ability to personalize learning, meaning it can adapt materials and learning methods to suit the individual needs of each student. This article aims to examine how effective the use of AI is in personalizing learning in the digital era based on existing research findings. The method used is a literature study, which involves collecting and analyzing various articles, journals, and scientific sources related to this topic.The results of the literature review indicate that AI is quite effective in improving learning outcomes, student motivation, and engagement in the learning process. In addition, AI can assist teachers in providing quick and accurate feedback, as well as in monitoring students’ learning progress individually. This makes the learning process more efficient and well-directed.However, there are still several challenges, such as limited access to technology, the digital divide between regions, and the lack of teacher readiness in utilizing AI effectively. Therefore, training for educators and adequate infrastructure support are necessary. In conclusion, AI has great potential in the field of education, but it needs to be supported by appropriate policies and infrastructure to be utilized optimally and equitably.

Abstract

Conventional elementary school learning environments have failed to cultivate students' courage to express opinions, as a fundamental democratic value rooted in Pancasila's fourth principle. This study examines the potential of gamification-based learning media in fostering that courage as an implementation of democratic values in Pancasila Education. A qualitative descriptive literature review was conducted using ten articles (2020–2026) sourced from Google Scholar, Garuda, and accredited national journals, analyzed thematically through content analysis. Findings consistently show that gamification platforms, including Quizizz, Wordwall, and Kahoot! effectively increase students' active participation and willingness to speak up; Rahmatullah et al. (2022) recorded an N-Gain of 39.10%, Astuti et al. (2026) confirmed consistent effects across three schools at F(1, 61) = 306.242 (p < 0.001), and Mohammed et al. (2024) reported cross-cultural evidence with an effect size of 0.55 in the raising questions dimension. These findings affirm that gamification serves as a pedagogical bridge connecting democratic values from textual concepts toward authentic behavioral practice in elementary.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of optimal mathematics learning based on numeracy literacy in multiplication materials in grade IV of elementary school. This study aims to describe the implementation of numeracy literacy learning in the Independent Curriculum and identify the obstacles faced in its implementation. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The subject of the study is a grade IV teacher of MIN Solok City. The data collection technique was carried out through online interviews and literature studies. The results of the study show that teachers integrate numeracy literacy through the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) and Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approaches, non-routine questions, and supported using contextual problems and technology-based media. Implementation in the Independent Curriculum is carried out through differentiated and contextual learning. The main obstacle faced is the low reading comprehension and basic numeracy skills of students, which has an impact on difficulties in solving story problems and affects the success of the application of numeracy literacy in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study ains to eximine the transformation of science learning (IPA) into IPAS (Natural and Social Science) in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Elementary Schools through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Ten relevant scientific journal articles were systematically analyzed using established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results indicate that the transformation from IPA to IPAS brings significant changes in the learning approach, integrating two disciplines into one holistic subject. Three major themes emerged: (1) implementation challenges, including limited resources, teacher readiness, and diverse conceptual understanding; (2) transformation opportunities, including increased learning motivation, critical thinking development, and strengthened science-social literacy; and (3) effective strategies, including project-based learning (PBL), interdisciplinary approaches, contextual learning, and field trips. The study concludes that the success of IPAS transformation is highly dependent on teacher readiness, infrastructure support, and continuous professional training.

Abstract

The digital age has brought about fundamental changes in the social behavior patterns of elementary school students, particularly in terms of interaction, communication, and character development. This systematic literature review aims to (1) analyze the forms and causal factors of changes in the social behavior of elementary school students in the digital age, (2) examine their impact on Social Studies (IPS) learning, and (3) formulate implications for relevant Social Studies learning strategies. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA guidelines, involving a search of articles from Google Scholar, Garuda, and DOAJ spanning 2015–2025. The findings indicate that the widespread use of digital technology has led to a shift from face-to-face interactions to virtual interactions, a decline in empathy and social skills, and the emergence of online aggressive behavior. This has an impact on the reduced effectiveness of instilling social values in social studies learning. Consequently, social studies teachers need to integrate technology-based approaches such as cooperative learning supported by digital media, critical digital literacy, and contextual approaches that link social studies material to students’ real lives.

Abstract

Educational technology promotes digital media use, yet Indonesian language learning in elementary schools remains conventional, making students less focused and easily bored. Smart TV use is also limited by inadequate facilities, unstable internet, and teachers’ low technological competence.This study aims to analyze the use of Smart TV as a learning media in Indonesian language learning at elementary school and to examine its impact on students’ learning activities at SDN 23 Parit Rantang. The study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students who were directly involved in the use of Smart TV in the learning process. Data were collected through observation and interviews, while data analysis used an interactive analysis model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the use of Smart TV helps teachers deliver Indonesian language learning materials in a more engaging way through videos, images, and digital texts, making students more active and able to understand the material more easily. The use of Smart TV also increases students’ interest, motivation, and concentration in learning. However, several obstacles were found, such as limited facilities, unstable internet connection, and teachers’ limited ability to use technology optimally. Therefore, teacher training and adequate infrastructure support are needed to optimize the use of Smart TV in learning. This study concludes that Smart TV has the potential to become an effective learning media to improve the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.
