Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis perbedaan hasil belajar matematika antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry di kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Palu, baik secara keseluruhan, antara siswa berkemampuan tinggi, antara siswa berkemampuan sedang dan antara siswa berkemampuan rendah. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar matematika antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry di kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Palu, baik secara keseluruhan, antara siswa berkemampuan tinggi, antara siswa berkemampuan sedang dan antara siswa berkemampuan rendah. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 72 siswa yang terdiri dari 36 siswa kelas X MIA 3 sebagai kelas yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry dan 36 siswa kelas X MIA 5 yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning. Materi yang dipelajari oleh siswa yaitu Sistem Persamaan Linear Tiga Variabel, Relasi dan Fungsi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji hipotesis untuk α = 0,05 diperoleh p > α untuk semua hipotesis, sehingga H1 ditolak dan H0 diterima untuk semua hipotesis. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar matematika antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry di kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Palu, baik secara keseluruhan, antara siswa berkemampuan tinggi, antara siswa berkemampuan sedang dan antara siswa berkemampuan rendah. Kata Kunci : perbedaan, hasil belajar, discovery learning, inquiry, sistem persamaan linear tiga variabel, relasi dan fungsi.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh profil kemampuan menyelesaikan soal turunan siswa Madrasah Aliyah di Kota Palu berdasarkan gaya kognitif. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian 4 orang siswa Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Palu yaitu 2 orang siswa bergaya kognitif FI dan 2 orang siswa bergaya kognitif FD yang berkemampuan matematika berbeda. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Tes GEFT untuk mengumpulkan data gaya kognitif siswa dan Tes untuk data kemampuan menyelesaikan soal materi turunan. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1). Subjek yang bergaya kognitif FI dan FD serta berkemampuan matematika tinggi menyelesaikan soal turunan menggunakan rumus turunan fungsi pangkat berkoefisien a, rumus turunan fungsi konstan, rumus turunan penjumlahan dan pengurangan fungsi. Subjek bergaya kognitif FI dapat menggunakan rumus turunan pembagian fungsi dengan baik dan teliti sementara subjek bergaya kognitif FD juga menggunakan rumus turunan pembagian fungsi tetapi tidak teratur dan lengkap. Subjek bergaya kognitif FI menggunakan titik stasioner dan membuat ilustrasi fungsi naik dan turun dalam bentuk grafik sedangkan subjek FD hanya menyatakan dalam bentuk pertidaksamaan. 2). Subjek yang bergaya kognitif FI dan FD serta berkemampuan matematika rendah menyelesaikan soal turunan menggunakan rumus dengan tidak teratur dan tidak jelas proses penentuan suku-suku yang diturunkan. Kedua subjek menggunakan rumus turunan fungsi pangkat berkoefisien a, rumus turunan fungsi konstan dan rumus turunan penjumlahan dan pengurangan fungsi. Subjek bergaya kognitif FI dapat menggunakan konsep titik stasioner sementara subjek bergaya Kognitif FD tidak dapat menggunakan konsep titik stasioner.

Abstract

Higher education today is increasingly shifting towards a more collaborative learning approach, where students are given the opportunity to develop team skills, problem solving, and application of knowledge in real-world situations. One method that supports this approach is a Team-Based Project which is integrated with e-learning technology. This study aims to explore the implementation of Team Based Projects with e-learning in a higher education context and its impact on student learning. The research method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with two cycles. The research was conducted at a university involving two classes, each consisting of second semester students in two courses, namely the student development course and the teaching and learning course. During the cycle, students are grouped into project teams and given collaborative assignments relevant to their curriculum. The use of e-learning technologies, such as online learning platforms and online communication tools, supports group work and mentoring. The instruments used in this research include document analysis in the form of student project assignments. Preliminary results show that implementing Team-Based Projects with e-learning can improve collaborative skills, understanding of material. This study provides insight into the potential of combining these approaches in a higher education context to prepare students with relevant skills in an increasingly complex and collaborative world of work.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain a description of the mathematical reasoning abilities of grade X students at MAN 1 Parigi in solving SPtLDV problems reviewed from a gender. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects in this study were two grade X MIPA students at MAN 1 Parigi in the even semester of 2022/2023, consisting of one male student and one female student. Data on students' mathematical reasoning abilities were collected using a mathematical reasoning test on the topic of Systems of Linear Inequalities in Two Variables (SPtLDV) and interviews. Based on the analysis obtained, male subjects structured their mathematical problem-solving by using graphs and systems of inequalities to depict the solution area and achieve maximum parking lot revenue. The proof construction by male subjects was more comprehensive in identifying variables, inequalities, and critical points, thus leading to accurate conclusions based on the presentation and arrangement of evidence. Female subjects presented their answers concisely using a system of linear equations without accompanying graphs or verification of extreme points, resulting in less optimal proof construction, which led to less valid conclusions and did not support the objective of the problem effectively. The conclusion from this study is that the mathematical reasoning ability of Class X students at MAN 1 Parigi in solving SPtLDV problems reviewed from a gender perspective, showed that male subjects excelled in mathematical reasoning capabilities compared to female subjects.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model that can improve student learning outcomes on line and angle material at MTs Negeri 4 Palu City. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) with Kemmis and Mc. Taggart design. This research was conducted in two cycles with 20 students, with two meetings in each cycle that followed the steps of the STAD type cooperative learning model. The results of the study: (1) the results of teacher activity observations in cycle I reached 79.41% with good criteria and in cycle II reached 94.11% with very good criteria. While the observation of student activities in cycle I reached 73.52% with good criteria and in cycle II reached 85.29% with very good criteria. (2) the percentage of classical learning completeness in cycle I was 55% and cycle II reached 75% Thus it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes on line and angle material in class VIIe MTs Negeri 4 Palu City by applying the following phases: (1) class presentation, (2) transition to team/group learning, (3) team study and monitoring, (4) evaluation/test, (5) awarding.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of problem-based learning to improve learning outcomes on the topic of plane solid figures for eighth-grade students at MTs.N 4 Kota Palu. This research is a classroom action research that follows the Kemmis and McTaggart design, which includes planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were all 30 students of class VIII B enrolled in the 2023/2024 academic year. The study consists of two cycles, each with two meetings. The results of this study show an improvement in student learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II, indicated by the increase in the number of students who achieved the minimum completeness criteria overall. In cycle I, 16.67% or 5 students met the minimum completeness criteria. In cycle II, the number of students meeting the minimum completeness criteria increased to 73.33% or 22 students. The results of teacher activity observation were in the good category with a score of 80% in cycle I, which increased to 84.83% in cycle II. The results of student activity observation in cycle I were in the good category and improved to the very good category in cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of problem-based learning can improve student learning outcomes using the following phases: (1) Orienting students to the problem, in phase 1, students engage directly with the topic by relating the problem to real-life situations. (2) Organizing students for learning, in phase 2, students form predetermined study groups to complete the LKPD, with the researcher considering the students' familiarity with one another. (3) Guiding individual and group investigations, in phase 3, students express their ideas through group discussions with the researcher's assistance. (4) Developing and presenting work, in phase 4, students randomly present their group's work with good topic mastery and responsibility within their group. (5) Analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process, in phase 5, students analyze the presentation results with intellectual ability, identify errors, explain correct answers, and summarize findings to construct knowledge from group work.

Abstract

This study is a descriptive study that uses qualitative approach aims to analyze students’ concept understanding on the quadratic equation material at GPID Sumbersari Christian Junior High School in terms of field independent cognitive style. Subjects in this study consisted of 3 students cognitive style field independent. The instruments in this study are GEFT test, concept understanding questions, and interview guidelines. Research results showed: the understanding of the three subjects of field independent cognitive style have not been able to state the concept of quadratic equation correctly. In giving examples and not examples of equations, subject 1 has not been able to examples and not examples correctly while subject 2 and subject 3 were able to give axamples and not examples of quadratic equations. Subject 3 were able to give examples and non-examples of quadratic equations well. Subject 1 and subject 3 have not been able to present the equation into mathematical representations correctly, while subject 2 was able to present the quadratic equation in the form of mathematical representations well. In using procedures or operations, subject 2 was able to use procedures well while subject 1 and subject 3 were not able to use procedures well. In linking concepts, the three subjects were still not able to relate concepts well. In this case the field independent cognitive style students do not fulfill all indicators of concept understanding so that students’ understanding in understanding the concept of quadratic equations is still low.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the numeracy skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 16 Palu in solving AKM problems. This research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 16 Palu consisting of three people, namely one high ability student, one medium ability student and one low ability student. Data collection techniques used observation, tests, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that (1) The profile of numeracy skills of high-ability students can meet all indicators of numeracy skills, meaning that the subject is able to master the use of numbers and symbols, as well as the stage of analyzing information and interpreting and mastering it well. (2) The numeracy ability profile of medium ability learners is only able to master two indicators, meaning that the subject masters the use of symbols and evaluates, and cannot draw conclusions from the answers that have been found. (3) The numeracy profile of low ability learners is only able to master the use of symbols and numbers, unable to fulfill the other two indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and learning success of students in class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 5 Palu Model in the 2023/2024 academic year. This research uses a quantitative approach. This type of research is ex post facto. This research was conducted in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 5 Palu model. This study used a sample size of 98 out of 224 students. Sampling was done using random sampling technique. Data were collected using self-efficacy scale and students' report card scores in odd semester. This analysis method uses descriptive statistics, and the relationship between two variables, namely self-efficacy to student learning achievement, is determined by calculating using product-moment correlation. The results showed that there was a relationship between self-efficacy and learning achievement of 11th grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Model Palu.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of the mathematical connection profile of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 14 Palu in solving problems in the Pythagorean theorem material reviewed from mathematical ability based on mathematical connection indicators. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subject of this study is a student of SMP Negeri 14 Palu consisting of one student with high mathematical ability, one student with moderate mathematical ability and one student with low mathematical ability. Data is collected through written tests and interviews. The results of this study show that students with high mathematical ability: (1) can relate between mathematical concepts, namely the concepts of Pythagorean theorem and algebra, (2) can relate mathematics to physics subjects, (3) can relate mathematics to daily life. Students with moderate mathematical ability: (1) can relate between mathematical concepts, namely the concepts of Pythagorean theorem and algebra, (2) can relate mathematics to physics subjects, (3) can relate mathematics in daily life. Students with low mathematical ability: (1) cannot relate between mathematical concepts, (2) cannot associate mathematics with other sciences, (3) cannot associate mathematics in daily life.
