Abstract

This study aims to determine how much parental attention is paid to class IX students at SMP Negeri 20 Palu and to determine a significant relationship between parental attention and mathematics learning achievement of class IX students at SMP Negeri 20 Palu. This research is a quantitative approach using a correlational design. The population of this study were all grade IX students of SMP Negeri 20 Palu, totaling 154 students. The research sample was obtained using the purposive sampling technique, the number of students who became the sample was 60 students. The data collection technique used parental attention questionnaires and documentation of mathematics learning achievement from student report cards. Based on the results of data analysis, it was obtained that the average parental attention variable was 69.73 (scale 25 - 100) included in the criteria for sufficient attention. The average variable of student learning achievement in mathematics is 81.77 (scale 0 – 100) in the high criteria. Furthermore, the results of data analysis using the product moment correlation test obtained a correlation value of r = 0.402 and a significance value (sig(2-tailed)) of 0.001. This means that there is a significant relationship between parental attention and mathematics learning achievement of class IX students of SMP Negeri 20 Palu.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain a description of the ability profile of students of SMP Negeri 3 Poso Pesisir Utara class VIIIC in solving story problems about the surface area and volume of pyramids based on Adversity Quotient (AQ). This study used descriptive qualitative method. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that: (1) CB subjects were able to understand problems, plan solutions, implement settlement plans and re-examine problem solving. CB subjects are able to mention things that are known and asked correctly, are able to express the steps for solving and solving problems according to the plan properly, and re-examine the results of the completion. (2) CP subjects are able to understand the problem, namely being able to mention things that are known and asked correctly. In addition to planning a solution, the CP subject is also able to carry out the settlement plan that he has planned in solving the problem, but does not re-examine the solution because he feels confident with the answer. (3) QT subjects are able to understand the problem, namely being able to mention things that are known and asked correctly. QT subjects also plan solutions, but in carrying out the settlement plans, QT subjects do not solve the problem completely, because they already find it difficult and confused to continue working on the problem. QT subjects also did not re-examine their answers.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of the results of student representation in solving linear programming problems at SMA Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were selected based on the results of the students' mathematical ability tests which were then categorized based on high, medium and low mathematical abilities. The results of this study indicate that (1) Regarding the mathematical representation of the symbol form of students in the category of high mathematical ability (KST) (MD), students with the category of moderate mathematical ability (KSS) (NS) and students with low mathematical ability (KSR) (MF). ) is able to make equations, algebraic symbols, mathematical operations, mathematical models and solve problems involving mathematical expressions well. (2) In visual form, students both KST (MD), KSS students (NS) and KSR students (MF) have been able to present data or information from a representation to a graphical representation. While in tabular form, KSR students (MF) did not use tables to clarify problems and facilitate solutions. (3) Verbally KST students (MD) can write down the steps for solving math problems in words and answer questions using written or spoken text and draw conclusions correctly. Likewise, KSS students (NS) can also make good conclusions. However, KSR (MF) students for verbal representation are still lacking, KSR (MF) students rarely use and clarify solutions with verbal words or sentences and are often wrong in explaining the answers they get.

Abstract

This type of research is a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects in this research are class X MIPA 1 MAN Donggalastudents, consisting of 4 people, each two male students and two female students, who have FI cognitive style and FD cognitive style. Written assignments and interviews obtained data on students' communication skills. The results of the research show that the mathematical communication skills of students who have a Fielddependent cognitive style are less capable than men because they cannot achieve all the indicators. The student subject has a Field Dependent female cognitive style, which is quite capable because it achieves one. The student subject has a Field Independent male cognitive style, which is quite capable because it achieves two indicators. The student subject has a Field Independent female cognitive style that is capable of achieving all three indicators. The conclusion obtained from this research is that students' mathematical communication abilities are generally said to be poor. The majority of students have not met several indicators of the three indicators of students' mathematical communication abilities. This condition can be seen with only one student achieving all three indicators.

Abstract

Objectives: This study investigates the implementation of Iconnu learning model to increase student interest and improve learning outcomes. Method: This one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental study was conducted in the 4th grade class at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri in Semarang City. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and observation. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical formulas. Results: This study shows thatthe Iconnu learning model was validated by experts with an average score of 3.90, increased student learning motivation by 46.7%, and iimproved cognitive learning outcomes by 46.4%. This study also found the syntax of the Iconnu learning model, which consists of four stages, namely; 1) Preliminary Learning Stage; 2) Collaborative Learning Stage; 3) Interactive Learning Stage; 4) Questioning Stage.Contribution of theory: The results of this research have provided theoretical contributions in the form of; 1) simplifying the syntax of the Connac and Codac-based constructivist learning theory from seven steps to four; 2) Strengthening the theory of Islamic education that highlights the obligation to seek knowledge (fardu 'ain) and the use of reason in learning.Limitations & Recommendations: This research is limited to one public school and one subject. Therefore, the researchers suggest further research with a wider range of location and for other subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of the errors made by students of class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Sojol in solving Quadratic Function questions. This type of research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach that describes the mistakes of class XI MIA 1 students of SMA Negeri 1 Sojol in solving quadratic function questions. The subjects in this study were students of class XI MIA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Sojol consisting of two students. Data collection was carried out by assignments and interviews. The results showed that the mistakes made by students according to the Castolean Stages analysis method contained three types of errors, namely (1) Conceptual errors made by students in the form of students not being able to use the rules correctly in determining or writing the intersection point of the graph with the y axis where to write the answer y = (0,-12) which should be written is the intersection point with the y axis is (0,-12), (2) the procedural error made by the student in the form of the student being wrong in writing the coordinates of the intersection point with the x axes where to write the final result (-6,6) and (2,0) who should write answers (-6,0) and (2,0) and write answers (-6,2) who should write answers (-6,0) and (2 , 0) and the student could not solve the problem, (3) a technical error was made in the form of an error in performing arithmetic operations in determining the peak point.
