Abstract

Introduction: Emergencies resulting from accidents can occur in any setting, including schools. In Indonesia, the overall injury prevalence has been reported at 9.2%, with schools accounting for the second-highest setting for injuries (8.4%). Splinting is a core first-aid technique that helps stabilize suspected fractures and prevent further injury or complications. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and practical splinting skills of Youth Red Cross (PMR) members at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. Methods: A training-based intervention was delivered in a one-day camp format using lectures, demonstrations, and supervised hands-on practice. Training effectiveness was evaluated using pre- and post-tests to assess knowledge gains and structured observation during skills practice to assess performance. Results and Conclusion: Students’ knowledge increased substantially, as reflected by an improvement in mean test scores from 56.78 (pre-test) to 92.96 (posttest). Participants also demonstrated better adherence to correct splinting procedures during practice sessions. Overall, demonstration-centered training was effective for improving adolescents’ understanding and practical competency in splinting.

Abstract

Background: The rapidly growing elderly population faces multiple challenges affecting quality of life, including physical, cognitive, social, and mental decline. Family support and participation in Elderly Posyandu (Integrated Health Post) are considered important factors influencing elderly quality of life, yet their specific relationships in Indonesian urban settings remain underexplored. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationships between family support, elderly activity levels in Posyandu, and quality of life among elderly individuals in the working area of Puskesmas Pal Tiga, Pontianak City. Method: A correlational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted using a purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 84 elderly individuals aged 60 years and above registered at Posyandu Lansia Asoka. Data were collected using validated questionnaires measuring demographic characteristics, family support, and quality of life, along with attendance records. Data analysis employed the Spearman rank correlation test with a significance level set at p < 0.05. Results: Among respondents, 98.8% received good family support, 56% were active Posyandu participants, and 97.6% reported good quality of life. Statistical analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between family support and quality of life (r = 0.703, p = 0.000), but no significant relationship between elderly activity levels in Posyandu and quality of life (r = 0.019, p = 0.866). Conclusion: Family support significantly influences elderly quality of life, while Posyandu attendance frequency alone does not directly correlate with quality of life outcomes, suggesting the need for enhanced service quality and family-centered interventions.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology demands good security. One approach that can be taken and is considered effective for identifying and analyzing cyberattacks is to implement a honeypot security layer. In a comparative study of two types of honeypots, namely Opencanary and Cowrie, which examined the form of honeypot response and the main focus of resource requirements to attacks along with the use of two methods of brute-force and port-scanning attacks. The attack was carried out virtually with the self-attack method, with the aim of comparing each honeypot in terms of resource requirements. The results show that in brute-force attacks, Opencanary has lower resource requirements with the highest CPU/RAM requirements of only 14% / 1.3%, while Cowrie requires more resources with the highest CPU/RAM requirements of 17% / 1.3%. While port-scanning attacks have lower resource requirements with the highest CPU requirements in Opencanary at 3% and Cowrie at 2% and similar RAM requirements at 1.28%. This study is expected to be a benchmark in selecting a honeypot that is tailored to the existing resource requirements.
