Abstract

The construction industry is recognized to be physically demanding and is characterized by a range of occupational safety and health issues, including musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) arising from repetitive movements, prolonged static postures, and physically strenuous working conditions. Participatory ergonomic interventions in which workers are involved in the formulation of the problems have been recommended as effective interventions to increase productivity and health in industries. The objective of this literature review is to explore the effects of participatory ergonomics on health outcome and productivity measures in construction. The review followed the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and included nine studies which examined various ergonomic intervention approaches. Results indicated positive improvement in the reduction of MSDs and fatigue when there was high worker engagement. However, some studies reported limited effects on overall health or productivity. In conclusion, while participatory ergonomics shows potential, its long-term effectiveness depends on worker engagement, intervention design, and consistent implementation, indicating the necessity of a common language for outcome measure and long-term follow-up in future studies.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

As Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) evolves into a sophisticated discipline, standardizing professional recognition is critical. This scoping review maps certification mechanisms and governance models to identify effective system components. A scoping review following Arksey and O'Malley's framework was conducted. Three databases (Scopus, Web of Science, CINAHL) and grey literature sources were searched in March 2026. Data were extracted and synthesized using narrative thematic analysis. Analyzing 30 sources from 1976 to 2024, we identify four governance models and a shift toward capability-based frameworks. Results indicate that effective systems utilize independent examinations and two-tier structures, whereas reliance on short-duration training or portfolio assessment risks limited professional capability. The review suggests that robust professionalization requires aligning education, examination, and governance, suggesting developing nations adopt rigorous, standardized assessment to ensure workforce capability.

Abstract

Cervical cancer remains one of the leading causes of death among women in Asia, with low coverage ofHuman Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination in many countries. This low coverage is closely related toeducational barriers that have not been fully addressed. This study aims to identify barriers to HPV vaccinationeducation among adolescents in Asian countries through a systematic review approach. Articles were searchedthrough four databases (Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and GARUDA) using a combination both inIndonesian language and English keywords with the Boolean search method. Selection followed the PRISMA2020 guidelines with inclusion criteria of publications from 2015 to 2025, either in Indonesian language orEnglish, and available in full text, while exclusion criteria included literature review articles, irrelevance toHPV vaccination in adolescents, or not originating from Asian countries. From the 62 articles found, 6 articlesmet the criteria and were analyzed further. The results showed that the main barriers included low knowledgeamong adolescents, lack of support from health workers, and misperceptions of risk. In addition, social stigmaand limited access to information were also significant barriers. Educational strategies involving schools, families, and community leaders proved to be more effective when tailored to the cultural context. This studyconcluded that an inclusive and contextual educational approach is essential to increase HPV vaccinationcoverage among adolescents.

Abstract

Background: The behavior of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among technical workshop students plays an important role in preventing workplace accidents and injury risks during practical activities. However, students’ compliance levels in using PPE vary and are influenced by various individual and environmental factors. Purpose: To analyze the factors influencing PPE usage behavior among students in the Technical Workshop of Vocational High School. Methods: This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 1,981 students, with a sample of 205 students selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires, as well as primary and secondary data sources. The analyses conducted included univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses. Results: The results showed that 39.5% of students demonstrated compliant PPE usage behavior, while 60.5% were non-compliant. Bivariate analysis indicated significant relationships between attitude (p-value = 0.016; OR = 0.016) and motivation (p-value = 0.008; OR = 0.008) with PPE usage behavior. No significant relationship was found between knowledge (p-value = 0.644), PPE availability (p-value = 0.113), training (p-value = 0.537), supervision (p-value = 1.00), and peer influence (p-value = 0.570) with PPE usage behavior. Multivariate analysis showed that motivation (p-value = 0.006 < 0.05) was the most influential variable affecting PPE usage behavior among students in the workshop (OR = 2.381). Conclusion: Motivation is the dominant factor influencing PPE usage behavior among workshop students.

Abstract

Abstract: The Role of Mothers' Knowledge Level in Dental Health of Preschool-Aged Children.Mothers' involvement in maintaining the dental health of preschool-aged children is a crucial aspect of child health promotion efforts. This literature review explores the relationship between maternal knowledge and the dental health condition of preschool-aged children. Several studies have shown that a mother’s understanding of oral hygiene, dietary habits, and regular dental care practices has a significant impact on a child’s dental health. Factors such as tooth brushing frequency, dental check-ups, and the choice of nutritious food are strongly influenced by the extent of a mother's awareness of early oral health practices. Findings from the reviewed literature highlight that providing dental health education to mothers plays a key role in preventing dental caries and other oral health problems in young children. Moreover, continuous health education, both within the family setting and through early childhood education and healthcare services, has improved mothers' awareness and behavior in maintaining their children's dental health. This review is expected to serve as a reference for designing educational and intervention programs aimed at improving children's dental health through the active role of mothers within the family environment. Keywords : Maternal Knowledge, Child Dental Health, Preschool-Aged ChildrenAbstrak: Literature Review : Peran Tingkat Pengetahuan Ibu dalam Kesehatan Gigi Pada Anak Usia Pra-Sekolah.
