Abstract

The complexity of the problems that occur in classroom learning, lead students to have century skills to support their lives in the future. Thecentury skills that students must have consist of 4C, namely critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, communication and collaboration. This research aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective project-based e-worksheet to improve critical thinking skills on Boyle's legal material. This type of development research is Design and Development Research (DDR) which were adapted from Richey Client (2007) using an assessment of validity tests, practice tests consisting of readability tests, teacher perception tests and student response tests, effectiveness tests consisting of tests normality, N-Gain, Paired Sample T-Test and Independent Sample T-Test. In the validity test results, the average score from the three validators was 3.57, with the average result of material and design validation being 3.53 in the very valid category and material and construct validation of 3.60 in the very valid category. The results of the practicality test obtained an average score of 83.1% for the readability test in the legible category, the student response test was 82% in the very good category, while for the teacher perception test it was 94.7%. So the average practicality test score was 86.6% in the very practical category.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the essential abilities students must possess to face the developments in science and technology in 21st-century learning. The aim of this research is to describe the practicality and effectiveness of ExPRession-based e-worksheet activities in training critical thinking skills. The research design employed a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of students from 12th-grade Science 1 and 3 at Public Senior High School Abung Semuli. Research instruments included observation sheets for lesson implementation, observation sheets for critical thinking activities, and critical thinking skills test sheets. Data on the practicality of learning were obtained through observations, while effectiveness data, in the form of critical thinking skills data, were obtained through pretest and posttest administration, and then analyzed using statistical formulas. Learning with ExPRession-based e-worksheets was deemed effective in training students' critical thinking abilities, as evidenced by the average N-Gain scores in the experimental group being higher than those in the control group. Based on these findings, critical thinking skills improved more significantly in the experimental group compared to the control group. Supported by the results of Independent Sample T-Test and Effect Size tests with a wide category, it can be concluded that ExPRession-based e-worksheet activities are effective in training students' critical thinking skills..

Abstract

In general, the assessment model used by teachers in teaching only revolves around summative assessment, thus students cannot use it to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their skills in learning activities. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Assessment for Learning instrument in project-based physics learning to measure collaboration and problem-solving skills. The research design utilizes a pretest-posttest control group design. The population for this study includes all second-semester eleventh-grade science students, with the sample comprising eleventh-grade science 3 as the experimental group and eleventh-grade science 4 as the control group selected through random sampling technique. The instruments used include the Assessment for Learning learning assessment instrument and assessment to evaluate and improve students' collaboration and problem-solving activities. Data collection techniques involve observation and questionnaire collection. Data are analyzed using descriptive statistical data analysis and inferential statistics. The hypothesis testing results of collaboration and problem-solving skills indicate differences in collaboration and problem-solving skills between the experimental and control classes in project-based physics learning. It is concluded that assessment using AfL in project-based physics learning is effective in measuring collaboration and problem-solving abilities as it exceeds classical mastery.
