Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam rangka membantu meningkatkan efisiensi pertanian jagung petani poktan LMPSDH Wonodadi di lahan Hutan Wonodadi, Lembeyan, Magetan yang selama ini umumnya masih menggunakan cara tradisional sehingga kurang efisien dari segi tenaga, waktu dan biaya. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan merancang mesin terintegrasi antara penggembur tanah dan penanam benih yang mana bagian penanam benih dapat dibongkar apabila akan digunakan secara terpisah. Sistem dirancang dengan mesin 2-tak berbahan bakar bensin campur yang menyerupai sistem traktor-tangan mini dengan bobot sekitar 25 kg sehingga mudah dibawa dan dipindahkan melalui akses jalan hutan yang sempit dan kurang memadai. Perangkat mesin yang dirancang telah diuji cobakan di lahan Hutan Wonodadi dan diketahui bahwa mesin dapat berfungsi dengan layak. Meskipun demikian, berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dan saran dari mitra petani, beberapa perbaikan masih diperlukan terkait penempatan roda pada mesin penggembur tanah dan penggunaan material/sistem pencegah penempelan tanah pada mata lubang mesin penanam benih.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how factors such as price, brand, and product quality can influence smartphone purchasing decisions. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. This study conducted a survey with a sample of users or consumers who purchased smartphones at the Kirana Smartphone Store. Data were collected through a questionnaire that assessed consumer perceptions of price, brand, and product quality that influence smartphone purchasing decisions. The results of the study showed that price had a negative and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Based on the results of the t-test and significance value, it is known that the Price Variable (X1) is indicated by a calculated t-value of -3.499> t-table - 1.998 and a significance value of 0.001 <0.05. In addition, based on the results of the t-test and significance value, it is known that the Brand Variable (X2) is indicated by a calculated t value of 2.245> t-table 1.998 and a significance value of 0.002 <0.05. So it can be concluded that the brand variable has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Meanwhile, the product quality variable cannot influence consumer purchasing decisions. This is based on the results of the t-test and the significance value is known that the Product Quality Variable (X3) is indicated by a calculated t value of 0.689 < t-table 1.998 and a significance value of 0.000 > 0.05. Thus, the Product Quality variable is stated to have no influence on Purchasing Decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe social media, electronic word of mouth and purchase intention, analyze the influence of social media and electronic word of mouth on purchase intention, and analyze the dominant variable between social media and electronic word of mouth on purchase intention at Zalora Indonesia . This research was conducted at Zalora Indonesia with 134 sample respondents. The method used in this research is descriptive method. This study used aaccidental sampling using data collection tools through an online questionnaire. The results of multiple regression analysis proved the variables of social media and electronic word of mouth, partially or simultaneously have an effect on purchase intention. The influence is a positive effect, if a technology driven online function as participation, conversationality, connectedness, openness, community and commonality, it will encourage consumers topurchase intention at Zalora Indonesia. Furthermore, if the electronic word of mouth gives a positive impression on a product that is offered online through the product involvement, self involvement, Other involvement, and message involvement would increase consumers' intention to buy. From testing the hypothesis that the variables of electronic word of mouth, it turns out the dominant influence on purchase intention.

Abstract

Abstract Ancient manuscripts are parts of history that are written on different kinds of paper. One of the efforts to preserve the integrity of history is the preservation of ancient manuscripts. The purpose of this community dedication is to provide understanding to the community (students) regarding the importance of preserving history and the impact of loss of history. The method of implementation of this service in the community is training. This community dedication resulted in excellent responses from students, faculty, and related agencies. The answers are seen in the spirit and the questions that arise during the discussion. The conclusion of this public devotion deserves special understanding and attention as it has a positive impact on the preservation of ancient manuscripts in the Imperial Museum. Abstract

The purpose of the study was to find out about the Institutional Communication System of the Village Consultative Body in Jatimulya Village. The research method used is the type of research used is descriptive research. While the research approach used is a qualitative approach. The results showed that 1) The cultural communication system at the BPD Institution in Jatimulya Village had not run well because there was still an unfinished emotional connection. 2) The social communication system at the BPD Institution in Jatimulya Village has not gone well, because there are still individual traits such as selfishness in managing institutions. 3) The intra and interpersonal communication system at the BPD Institution in Jatimulya Village is running well, because this will affect both institutional and personal psychology. 4) The organizational communication system at the BPD Institution in Jatimulya Village on the quality of work caused by communication that does not go well other than by looking at the work targets that must be completed not on time.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify types of sentences and their frequency contained in the novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in order to help high school students to improve their ability in understanding and practicing English sentence structure. This research was a descriptive study. The corpus of this research was the novel “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” which is written by Lewis Carroll. All of the declarative sentences of the conversation in all of the novel's chapters were analyzed in this research which include formal and informal sentences, direct sentences, and nominal and verbal sentences. This research used open coding and focused coding as the procedure of data analysis. The corpus was sorted for complete declarative sentences. After that, they were grouped and coded based on their types of sentences and subcategories. Then, each type of sentence’s frequency of occurrence was calculated. The finding found that there are four sentence types used by the novel, which are: simple sentences, compound sentences, complex sentences, complex sentences, and compound-complex sentences. The total declarative sentences found are 440 sentences. Simple sentence becomes the most frequent sentence type used by the novel and complex compound sentence becomes the least. This research covered the information for students about sentence types they need to master before reading the novel as one of their media to learn and practice sentence structure.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the most dominant type of derivational morphemes and the formation process of derivational morphemes found in the Joe Biden’s inauguration speech. This research was a descriptive study. The researcher used documents to collect the data. The corpus of this research was the transcript of the inauguration speech by Joe Biden. The data were collected from the official website “The White House”. Then, the data were sorted out of the corpus. This research used open coding and focused coding to analyze the data. The writer used the theory of Fromkin, Rodman, and Hyams to analyze the most dominant type of derivational morphemes and Koltai’s theory to analyze the formation process of derivational morphemes. The findings of this research found that the most dominant type of derivational morphemes found in the Joe Biden’s inauguration speech are suffixes with 147 data out of 158 data. The formation processes of derivational morphemes found are noun formation, verb formation, adjective formation, and adverb formation. Noun formation becomes the most dominant formation process with 107 data out of 158 data. This research covered two types of derivational morphemes and four formation processes of derivational morphemes as a discussion for further linguistic study on morphology, especially derivational morphemes.

Abstract

This research was conducted to investigate the effect of video blog posted in YouTube to teach spoken recount text to the secondary students. The design was the one group pretest posttest design of pre-experimental study. The sample, X MIPA 2 of SMA Negeri 2 Pontianak, was chosen from cluster random sampling technique totaling 30 students. The findings indicate that there is a significant effect of video blog posted in YouTube towards the students’ ability in spoken recount text. The t-test calculation was 25.92 which was higher than t-table 2.045 (df=29; significance α=0.05). Meanwhile, the effect size was 4.41 categorized as strong effect. From these results, it was revealed that the Ho was rejected while the Ha was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that video blog posted in YouTube was effective to teach spoken recount text to secondary students, especially the tenth-grade ones. Thus, the researchers recommend this technique to be used as one of alternatives to teach spoken recount text, specifically related to people’s experience.

Abstract

This research is to identify how the students’ perception of using movie to improve students’ English speaking skill of SMA Negeri 2 Mempawah Hilir. It is a descriptive study and the participants are 60 students of year-11 of SMA Negeri2 Mempawah Hilir. The data were obtained using questionnaires. The data analysis is focused on students’ perception as the main component supporting compelling education and learning. The result of this research were analyzed qualitatively. The findings showed that the students have mostly been positively responded. It can be seen from the results of the questionnaire. For positive response, the students expect it would give them more many educational movies published that can help them supplement their education. Overall, it can be concluded that using movie had been contributed to improve the students’ English speaking skill.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the most dominant type of politeness principles especially on approbation and sympathy maxims and the application both of them in Emma movie. This research was descriptive study. The corpus of this research was the transcript of dialogue spoken by the characters in Emma movie. The data are collected using the theory of Creswell which consists of five interrelated steps. These steps respectively deal with identifying the movie, gaining information relate to that movie, considering the focus of information, designing tool named datasheet, and administering the data. Then the data were analyzed descriptively using the theory from Miles, Huberman, & Saldana which consists of data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusion. The researcher used the theory of Leech to analyze the most dominant type of politeness principles especially approbation and sympathy maxims and also the application of both of them in the movie. The findings of this research found the most dominant type of politeness principles in Emma movie is approbation maxim with 37 data (72.55%) out of 51 data. It is followed by sympathy maxim with 14 data (27.45%) out of 51 data. The application of these two maxims happens in family discourse. This is because the context of language usage in the early 19th-century English society. The abuse of power and wealth, all prove that the class status of Emma’s family plays a significant role in the shaping how the politeness works in society.
