Abstract

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) has a crucial role in instilling character from an early age. This article reviews the application of the habit of saying positive words as a form of affirmative strategy to build confidence, optimism, and positive mindset in children at ABA 01 Batu Kindergarten. Through daily activities such as morning welcomes, a fun approach and parental participation, these habits are able to create a learning environment that supports and strengthens children's social and emotional development. The results of the evaluation showed an increase in confidence, enthusiasm for learning, and children's ability to establish healthy social relationships. Obstacles that arise, such as children's limited understanding of the meaning of affirmation and challenges in maintaining consistency of practice, are overcome through easy-to-understand explanations and active involvement of parents. This article concludes that getting children used to saying positive words is a simple method but has a great effect on shaping children's character as a whole and continuously

Abstract

This study used a descriptive questionnaire to examine the social-emotional development of fifth grade students in digital-based Citizenship Education (PKn) learning at SD Inpres I Tobelo, North Halmahera. Digital-based PKn learning is a necessity in the era of digital transformation, but its impact on students' social-emotional development has not been widely studied, especially in the context of basic education in the 3T (Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged) areas. Based on the results of the study, students' social-emotional development is positively influenced by the implementation of digital-based PKn learning, especially in terms of collaboration skills, digital empathy, and learning independence. However, there are obstacles in the form of a digital divide, changes in direct interaction patterns, and limited infrastructure. By utilizing digital technology to integrate social-emotional elements in PKn learning, this study produces an integrative learning model with five main components: (1) digital readiness assessment, (2) technology-assisted collaborative learning, and (3) technology-assisted collaborative learning. learning, (3) digital social reflection, (4) digital citizenship simulation, and (5) social project-based evaluation. The implications of this research provide a theoretical and practical basis for the development of digital citizenship.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and the unique characteristics of Generation Z have driven the need for innovation in Indonesian language learning, particularly to improve the speaking skills of junior high school students. Conventional learning methods are often ineffective in building student confidence, creativity, and active participation. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of synergy between theater, speech recognition technology, and chatbots as a more interactive and relevant learning innovation. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, this study collected data through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and a pilot test of the teaching module. The results showed significant improvements in students' speaking skills, including fluency, clarity, and argument structure. Students became more confident, creative, and engaged, thanks to the automatic feedback from the speech recognition technology and adaptive conversational practice provided by the chatbot. This innovative module also increases student motivation and engagement, supports the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, and the development of 21st-century skills. This synergy has proven effective and can be widely adopted to create more personalized learning that meets the demands of the digital age.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of the munjung tradition in Javanese wedding ceremonies within the transmigrant community of Tegalrejo Village, Musi Rawas, South Sumatra. Munjung, a form of respect and invitation through the delivery of food, has undergone changes in form and meaning due to evolving times, economic conditions, and the impact of the pandemic. This research adopts a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation, with informants selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Analysis based on the Miles and Huberman model revealed three key themes: changes in the containers and contents of punjungan, rationalization of practicality, and the persistence of symbolic values in an adaptive form. Despite physical transformations, the social and cultural functions of munjung persist as symbols of respect and social bonding. This study enriches the understanding of cultural adaptation among migrant communities and emphasizes the importance of preserving local traditions in a contextualized manner. The implications include strengthening character education based on local culture, informing policies on cultural preservation, and providing direction for future research on symbolic and ecological aspects.

Abstract

This study explores the linguistic construction of the expressive speech act of penantian (waiting) in Didi Kempot's song lyrics by employing a descriptive qualitative method with a pragmatic-semantic framework, drawing from Searle’s theory of speech acts and Cruse’s lexical semantics. The analysis was conducted on a corpus of six popular songs selected purposively based on the dominance of penantian themes. Each lyric was examined in terms of its expressive act, contextual meaning, and cultural-symbolic references. This phenomenon of penantian, often associated with deep emotions such as sadness, longing, and resignation, reflects Didi Kempot’s strong identity as Indonesia’s “Godfather of Broken Heart.” The findings reveal eleven expressive variants of penantian (e.g., hope, longing, grief) and seven context-based meanings (e.g., longing for reunion, emotional endurance, betrayal of promises). Furthermore, linguistic representations are constructed through culturally loaded temporal (e.g., "a year," "the third season") and spatial symbols (e.g., "Stasiun Balapan," "Nickerie"), which—when interpreted through a cultural semiotic perspective—highlight the embodiment of time and space in Javanese emotional expression. Using figures of speech such as hyperbole, personification, and metaphor further enhances the dramatic expression of penantian. These findings demonstrate how Didi Kempot utilizes culturally resonant language to articulate the intricate emotional landscape of waiting, betrayal (cidra), and heartbreak (ambyar), thus contributing to the study of pragmatics and semantics within a culturally contextualized framework of regional music.
