Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of human resource development on employee performance at the Education and Culture Office of Wajo Regency. Human resource development refers to the initiatives taken by the organization to enhance employees' skills, knowledge, and capabilities to perform their functions effectively. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 58 respondents chosen from a population of 139 employees at the Education and Culture Office of Wajo Regency. The results of the analysis show that human resource development has a positive effect on employee performance, contributing 10.6%. Overall, employee performance was rated as very good, while human resource development was rated as good. This study is expected to contribute to designing more effective HRD programs and enhancing employee performance at the Education and Culture Office of Wajo Regency.

Abstract

Red betel leaf (Piper ornatum N.E.Br) is one of several plants that have antibacterial properties so that it can be selected as an active ingredient in deodorants because of its effectiveness as an antibacterial. Red betel leaf contains secondary metabolites, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and essential oils. The purpose of this study was to determine the formulation of ethanol extract of red betel leaf (Piper ornatum N.E.Br) made in the form of a deodorant stick preparation with good characteristics and to determine the concentration of the deodorant stick preparation in inhibiting Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. The study was conducted experimentally including the manufacture of extracts by the maceration method. In this study, ethanol extract of red betel leaf with concentration variations of 1, 2 and 3%. The preparation was tested for organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, melting time, melting point, and antibacterial activity. The content of the phytochemical screening results of the ethanol extract of red betel leaf showed that there were flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, and triterpenoids so that they have the potential to inhibit bacteria. The resulting deodorant stick meets the requirements of pH test, melting time test, melting point test and has bacterial inhibitory activity. At a concentration of 1% it is categorized as moderate with an inhibition zone of 6-10 while for a concentration of 2% and 3% it is categorized as strong with an inhibition zone of 10-20 mm.

Abstract

Industri pangan global menghadapi tantangan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan protein yang terus meningkat seiring pertambahan populasi. Salah satu solusi potensial adalah rumput laut, yang kaya akan nutrisi seperti protein, mineral, vitamin, dan serat makanan. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan memberikan pelatihan pembuatan abon rumput laut, pembelajaran pemasaran digital dan pembelajaran pembukuan sederhana pada perempuan mengikat rumput laut. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan pembuatan abon rumput laut, pendampingan dalam pemasaran digital dan pembukuan sederhana serta evaluasi. Proses produksi terdiri dari dua tahap utama yaitu pembuatan bubur rumput laut dan pengolahan menjadi abon, dengan tambahan ikan bandeng dan tempe untuk meningkatkan kandungan protein. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam memproduksi abon rumput laut sebesar 88,83% dan membuat pembukuan sederhana sebesar 87,33% serta pemasaran digital melalui Instagram Ads efektif dalam memperluas jangkauan pasar. Abon rumput laut merupakan solusi inovatif yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi dan memberikan peluang ekonomi bagi masyarakat.

Abstract

Mandar silk crafts is a creative industry that utilizes the basic ingredients of silk that are processed into a piece of cloth that can be sarong, shirt, shawl and etc. One of the Mandar silk artisants is in the Karama village, Tinambung subsdistrict, Polewali Mandar district. The Area manages the Mandar silk sarong commonly known by the term " Lipa Sa'be Mandar" is one of the Mandar tribes woven has a high cultural value passed down from generation to generation. Lipa Sa'be Mandar has long been known, because it has special characteristic that is in terms of style (Sure') and how to make it. Most of the people of the Karama Village, Tinambung subdistrict, especially women work as a mandar silk artisants by developing their potential and trying to get the maximum income to meet their daily needs. The problems faced by these craftsmen are the lack of Knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, relatively small capital technology (Weaving equipment) that is used is still simple and that marketing of silk weaving products is also an obstacle. Therefore, it is necessary to carryout PKM activities to overcome these problems. The target to be achieved from this PKM activity is to (1) Increase the knowledge and skills of the mandar silk craftsmen craftsmen group in relation to the added value of products, management and marketing; (2) The formation of a wider marketing network for the sale of mandar silk products produced; and (3) Increased income of Mandar silk artisan families approaches that will be offered to achieve these objectives are through the empowerment model, which includes several stages including : 1) Preparation, 2) Assesment, 3) Action Plan, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. To achieve the expected output targets, the implementation method that will be used in this PKM activity is the Method of counseling, training and mentoring in the joint silk bussines group (KUB) in Karama village, Tinambung Subsdistrict, Polewali Mandar disftrict.Keywords: Silk Sarong Craftsman, Creative Economy, and Entrepreneurship. ABSTRAKKerajinan Sutera Mandar merupakan industri kreatif yang memanfaatkan bahan dasar sutera yang diolah menjadi selembar kain yang bisa dibuat sarung, baju kemeja, selendang dan lain-lain. Salah satu daerah pengrajin sutera mandar berada di Desa Karama Kecamatan Tinambung Kabupaten Polewali Mandar. Daerah tersebut mengelola Sarung Sutera Mandar yang biasa dikenal dengan istilah “Lipa’ Sabe Mandar” merupakan salah satu tenunan suku bangsa mandar memiliki nilai budaya tinggi yang diwariskan turun temurun. Lipa’ Sabe Mandar ini telah lama dikenal, karena memiliki ciri khusus yakni dari segi corak (Sure’) dan cara pembuatannya. Sebagian besar masyarakat Desa Karama Kecamatan Tinambung ini, terutama perempuan bekerja sebagai Pengrajin Sutera Mandar dengan mengembangkan potensi yang dimiliki dan berusaha semaksimal mungkin mendapatkan penghasilan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup sehari-hari. Adapun permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh pengrajin tersebut adalah kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam berwirausaha, modal yang relatif kecil, teknologi (peralatan tenun) yang digunakan masih sederhana dan pemasaran produk tenunan sutera juga menjadi kendala. Oleh karena itu, perlu melaksanakan kegiatan PKM guna mengatasi permasalahan tersebut.Target yang ingin dicapai dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah (1) meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok pengrajin Sutera Mandar dalam kaitannya dengan nilai tambah produk, manajemen dan pemasaran; (2) terbentuknya jaringan pemasaran yang lebih luas untuk penjualan produk Sutera Mandar yang dihasilkan; dan (3) meningkatnya pendapatan keluarga pengrajin Sutera Mandar. Pendekatan-pendekatan yang  akan ditawarkan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut adalah melalui model pemberdayaan, yang meliputi beberapa tahapan antara lain: 1) persiapan, 2) assessment, 3) rencana aksi, 4) implementasi, dan 5) evaluasi. Untuk mencapai target luaran yang diharapkan maka metode pelaksanaan yang akan digunakan dalam kegiatan PKM ini adalah metode penyuluhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan pada Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) Sutera Mandar di Desa Karama Kecamatan Tinambung Kabupaten Polewali Mandar.Kata kunci: Pengrajin Sutera Mandar, Ekonomi Kreatif, Kewirausahaan

Abstract

The face recognition-based attendance system is an innovative solution to improve the efficiency and accuracy of student attendance at SMKN 1 Luwu Utara. This study aims to develop and implement a Face Recognition-based attendance system using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm. The research method used is an experimental method with stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, and system testing. The results show that this attendance system has an accuracy rate of up to 95% in recognizing students' faces, thus reducing the risk of attendance fraud. Additionally, the system provides a seamless and automated way of tracking attendance, eliminating manual errors and reducing administrative workload. The implementation of this system has also received positive responses from the school due to its ease of use and effectiveness in recording attendance data in real-time. The system's ability to integrate with existing school databases further enhances its practicality and usability

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the ability of tenth-grade students at SMAN 2 Muaro Jambi in writing application letters, with a specific focus on their content writing skills. This study employed a quantitative descriptive method. The subjects of the research were 35 tenth-grade students at SMAN 2 Muaro Jambi. The data collection technique used was a writing test. The research utilized descriptive statistics to analyze the data. The results show that 29% of students demonstrated very high ability, 20% high ability, 14% moderate ability, and 37% low ability in overall application letter writing. Regarding content specifically, 11% of students showed very high ability, 17% high ability, 0% moderate ability, and 72% low ability. The study concludes that while students showed varied abilities in overall application letter writing, a significant majority demonstrated low ability in writing the content of application letters.

Abstract

In today's increasingly advanced, interconnected, and open world, job seekers face competition not only on a regional or national level but also internationally. English proficiency is a highly valuable asset for university graduates because English is the international language used by all parties worldwide. Graduates from the Faculty of Agriculture in Indonesia are no exception. They face the demand for English skills, especially those that are directly applicable to their chosen field of study, to be competitive in the job market. English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is the answer to this problem. ESP can greatly assist agriculture students in mastering vocabulary, topics, articles, and other contexts specific to their field. This need will be further explored in detail through a needs analysis to understand the extent of students' needs regarding the four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The results of this needs analysis will be combined with the existing curriculum in the Faculty of Agriculture as a source of topics and articles to be included in the materials. This will then be reviewed by experts using the Likert scale to ensure the quality of the agricultural ESP learning materials.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the correlation between grammatical competence and English text writing ability among eleventh-grade students at SMAN 9 Kota Jambi. This research was quantitative with a correlational approach. The subjects of the research were 36 eleventh-grade students at SMAN 9 Kota Jambi in Academic Year 2023/2024. The techniques of collecting data were a grammar test and a writing test. The research used the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient to analyze the data. The results of the research show that there is a very low positive correlation (r = 0.166) between students' grammatical competence and their ability in writing English texts. This correlation is not statistically significant at both 5% and 1% levels. The findings indicate that 11.11% of students had excellent performance in the grammar test, while 16.67% showed very good performance in the writing test. The study concludes that there is no significant correlation between students' grammatical competence and their ability in writing English texts.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan bertujuan untuk menjabarkan tentang salah satu bagian ilmu pragmatik yaitu deiksis yang terkandung dalam cerita pendek “Robohnya Surau Kami” karya dari AA Navis. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan pada penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan data yang mengandung deiksis pada cerita yang dimaksud. Cerpen “Robohnya Surau Kami” karya dari AA Navis menjadi objek data pada penelitian ini, serta mengumpulkan data dengan teknik membaca, mencatat dan mengidentifikasikan setiap kata yang mengandung jenis-jenis deiksis yaitu deiksis persona, deiksis ruang ataupun masuk ke dalam deiksis waktu. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan menyatakan bahwa terdapat kata yang mengandung deiksis persona yang dibagi lagi menjadi tiga yaitu: persona pertama (aku, kami,kita), deiksis persona kedua (kau), deiksis persona ketiga (Ia, dia, mereka). selanjutnya terdapat kata yang termasuk kedalam bentuk dari deiksis tempat dalam cerpen tersebut yaitu ditemukan kata di sana. Dan terakhir terdapat pula bentuk deiksis waktu yang terdapat dalam cerpen ini yaitu mengandung kata beberapa tahun lalu, sekarang dan tadi subuh.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the financial performance of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in Kaburu Village, Bontomanai District, Selayar Islands Regency for 2020-2022, based on aspects of financial ratios consisting of Liquidity Ratio, Profitability Ratio, Solvency Ratio and Activity Ratio. This research uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach with analysis techniques using financial ratio calculation analysis. In this study the data used is the financial statements of the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) Bukit Harapan Kaburu Village for three periods from 2020 to 2022. The results of the study indicate that in general the financial performance of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) "Bukit Harapan" Kaburu Village, Bontomanai District, Selayar Islands Regency is good in terms of liquidity ratio, profitability, solvency and activity. This shows that BUMDes Bukit Harapan must maintain these four ratio and better improve them.
