Abstract

Herbal tea is one of the functional drinks, which is consumed for the purpose of preventing or treating disease. The number of side effects that arise from the consumption of drugs made from synthetic or chemical materials has led to a tendency for people to return to consuming herbal plants as a solution to health problems. The purpose of this study is to make tea from the roots of tampala (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) and to test the physical and chemical properties, organoleptic examination and determination of antioxidant activity. Testing of physical and chemical properties including water content, ash content and pH of the preparation, organoleptic examination including taste and odor and color of the brewed solution and determination of antioxidant activity was carried out using the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazil). The results of the physicochemical test of tampala tea showed that a pH of 6.8, water content of 7.63%, ash content of 7.7%. On organoleptic examination, the tea using the brewed water showed a slightly sour taste, a characteristic wood smell and a brownish yellow color. Based on the physical and chemical character of the tampala herbal tea test results, it meets the requirements of SNI No. 3836 of the 2013 National Standardization Agency, while the antioxidant test results of the tampala herbal tea was obtained an IC50 value (Inhibition Concentration 50) of 89.63 ppm, included in the category of strong antioxidant potential, because it is in the category of strong antioxidant potential. in the range of 50-100 ppm.

Abstract

Pulau Cempedak termasuk wilayah kawasan konservasi perairan kecamatan Kendawangan, kabupaten Ketapang. Secara geografis, pulau Cempedak telah ditetapkan sebagai salah satu Kawasan Konservasi Pesisir dan Pulau-Pulau Kecil (KKP3K) di Kalimantan Barat dan memiliki ekosistem terumbu karang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kondisi terumbu karang yang meliputi presentase tutupan karang hidup serta struktur komunitas terumbu karang di perairan utara pulau Cempedak. Metode yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling dengan teknik pengambilan data menggunakan Point Intercept Transect (PIT), dengan 3 stasiun pada kedalaman 2 sampai 4 meter. Hasil yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini menunjukan persentase tutupan karang hidup berkisaran 31% sampai 66%, menunjukan bahwa persentase tutupan karang hidup tergolong dalam kategori tinggi. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman tutupan karang hidup berkisaran 1,69 sampai 2,44 menunjukan keanekaragaman rendah hingga sedang, indeks keseragaman berkisar 0,80 sampai 0,87 menunjukan keseragaman karang hidup tinggi, dan indeks dominansi berkisar antara 0,12 sampai 0,24 menunjukan dominansi karang hidup rendah hingga sedang. Lifeform terumbu karang diperairan pulau Cempedak yang mendominansi pada kedalaman 2 sampai 4 meter Encrusting dan Massive Corals. Kondisi perairan di lingkungan pulau Cempedak tergolong masih dalam keadaan yang optimum bagi kehidupan dan pertumbuhan terumbu karang.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sumber daya pesisir yang tidak berbasis lingkungan dapat menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan kualitas lingkungan pesisir, seperti masuknya cemaran zat organik ataupun zat anorganik ke dalam badan perairan. Salah satu bentuk cemaran yang sangat berpotensi hadir dalam lingkungan perairan laut adalah logam berat seperti Kadmium (Cd) sebagai akibat dari aktivitas manusia di dekat wilayah pesisir. Keberadaan logam ini sangat berpotensi  membahayakan biota laut seperti kerang-kerangan, kepiting, udang yang hidupnya di daerah pesisir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kandungan logam Cd dalam daging kerang darah (Anadara granosa) dan sedimen pada habitat kerangnya serta kelayakannya untuk dikonsumsi berdasarkan nilai ambang batas cemaran Cd yang disyaratkan. Pengambilan sampel dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2020 menggunakan 2 stasiun (titik sampling), menggunakan metode purposive sampling yaitu berdasarkan jarak dari pusat aktivitas. Analisis cemaran logam berat Cd dilakukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer serapan atom. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa kandungan Cd dalam daging kerang A. granosa dan sedimen pada perairan pulau Sedanau pada kedua stasiun pengambilan sampel bernilai rata-rata 1,1123 mg/kg dan 1,4551 mg/kg di statsiun 1 serta 0,0781 mg/kg dan 1.4223 mg/kg, yang masih berada di bawah ambang batas yang disyaratkan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) No. 7387 tahun 2009 yaitu sebesar 1,5 mg/kg.

Paloh, one of West Kalimantan's conservation areas, has a high biodiversity of marine resources, including seaweed. Seaweed has an important ecological role, such as increasing primary productivity, providing dissolved oxygen, as a food source, and as a habitat for several aquatic organisms. In addition, seaweed contains various bioactive compounds that have the potential to be used in various industrial fields. This research aimed to identify the variety of seaweed in the waters of Pantai Tanjung Api, Paloh District, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. Based on the abundance of seaweed, the sampling site was chosen. A quadratic transect measuring 10x10 m2 was used for the collection. Four seaweed genera were discovered, including Acetabularia, Ulva, Padina, and Sargassum. Ulvophyceae and Phaeophyceae had the same percentage contribution. The species abundance varied between 1.04-26.75 ind/m2, where Padina had the highest value. Paloh has a low level of seaweed diversity, high uniformity, and a low dominance index.

Abstract

One source of protein needed by the human body, especially during the growth and development period, is fish and its derivatives. Fish nuggets are a preparation made from sea fish or freshwater fish, which can practically be consumed as a side dish or snack. The aim of this community service activity (PKM) is to train Mekar Baru posyandu cadres in the skills of making tilapia nuggets. The activity was attended by 15 participants, including posyandu cadres at the Mekar Baru Village Community Health Center. The activity was carried out using educational lecture methods and practice in making nuggets made from tilapia fish. From the results of the evaluation of activities carried out using the questionnaire method at the beginning and end of the activity, it showed that there was an increase in the understanding and skills of Mekar Baru posyandu cadres in processing nuggets made from tilapia fish.

Abstract

Turbo setosus is a species of the gastropod class that has a wavy shell with circular lines on its surface. Because it is easy to find, this type of snail is widely used in the food sector. The nutritional value of Turbo setosus is also high so it has economic value. Proximate analysis and essential minerals are useful to determine the nutritional value contained. Gastropods were extracted using Soxhlet at a certain temperature to measure moisture content, fat content, ash content, and carbohydrates. To find out the number of carbohydrates, the by difference method is used. Meanwhile, to find out the amount of minerals contained using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method.

Abstract

Mangroves play a vital role in maintaining environmental, providing habitat for various organisms, and protecting coastal areas from abrasion. In addition, mangroves function as carbon sinks, where a portion of the captured carbon used for energy, and the others stored in plant stuctures. Thus, mangroves significantly contribute to climate change mitigation through carbon sequestration. This study aims to determine the carbon content of mangrove litter from Excoecaria agallocha species in the estuary of Sungai Tanggul, Sungai Nibung Village. Kubu Raya, West Kalimantan. The types of litter measured include leaves, fruits, twigs, and flowers, which were collecter using litter traps. The results showed the total carbon content of the litter was 7.49 tons/ha/year. The largest contribution from leaves litter (5.49 tons/ha/year), followed by twigs (1.90 tons/ha/year), and fruits (0.10 tons/ha/year),while flowers had an insiginificant carbon content.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas kepiting bakau dan parameter kualitas perairan yang terdapat di kawasan hutan mangrove Desa Pangkalan, Kecamatan Serasan, Kabupaten Natuna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE). Metode dilakukan dengan menghitung jumlah sampel kepiting bakau yang tertangkap dalam setiap upaya penangkapan. Penangkapan dilakukan sebanyak 4 kali dalam rentang waktu seminggu sekali selama sebulan. Hasil yang di dapat menunjukkan terdapat tiga jenis kepiting bakau yang berada pada kawasan mangrove Desa Pangkalan yaitu S. paramamosain, S. serrata, S. tranqueabrica. Hasil kepadatan relatif kepiting bakau yaitu 8,8% stasiun 1, 17% stasiun 2, dan 12,5% stasiun 3 untuk jenis S. paramamosain, 43,2% stasiun 1,36% stasiun 2, dan 50% stasiun 3 untuk jenis S. serrata, 48% stasiun 1,47% stasiun 2, dan 37,5% stasiun 3 untuk jenis S. tranquebarica. Kualitas perairan kawasan mangrove Desa Pangkalan masuk ke dalam kategori sangat jarang hingga rapat. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H"™) berkisar antara 0,929-1,024 dengan kategori rendah hingga sedang. Nilai indeks Keseragaman (E) berkisar antara 0,845-0,932 dengan kategori tinggi. Indeks dominansi (C) termasuk dalam kategori rendah, yaitu 0,379-0,424.

Abstract

Pulau Lemukutan merupakan pulau terbesar di Kalimantan Barat yang berpotensi sebagai lokasi budidaya. Salah satu jenis rumput laut yang banyak dibudidayakan yaitu Eucheuma cottonii. Kondisi rumput laut yang diproduksi di Indonesia belum maksimal disebabkan oleh rendahnya laju pertumbuhan rumput laut. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi laju pertumbuhan rumput laut yaitu jarak tanam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan jarak tanam terhadap pertumbuhan Eucheuma cottonii dengan menggunakan metode KJA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Terdapat 3 kelompok percobaan, yaitu jarak tanam 20 cm, 30 cm dan 40 cm masing-masing dilakukan sebanyak 5 kali ulangan. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian memperoleh bahwa perbedaan jarak tanam berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii. Pertumbuhan rumput laut paling tinggi terdapat pada jarak tanam 30 cm dengan nilai rata-rata 5,05 g/hari. Kondisi parameter fisika dan kimia suhu, salinitas, pH, DO, kecerahan, kedalaman, nitrat dan fosfat dikatakan optimal. Sedangkan kecepatan arus mendapatkan nilai rata-rata kurang optimal.
