Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematics learning outcomes of grade 5 students at SDN Cibodas 6 in learning flat shapes. Data on mathematics learning outcomes were obtained through written tests that included flat shape concepts such as squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles. Class observations were also carried out to see student activity during the flat shape learning. The results of the student data analysis showed that most of them had a good understanding of the concept of plane shapes and were able to identify and draw shapes correctly. However, a number of students experienced difficulties in calculating the area and perimeter of flat shapes. Factors that influence the results of learning mathematics in learning flat shapes include teaching methods used by teachers, student motivation, and parental support and participation in learning. The teacher has an important role in building student understanding by providing clear explanations, adequate exercises, and periodic reinforcement of concepts. The recommendation of this study is for teachers to use interactive teaching methods and involve students actively in learning flat shapes. More intensive training needs to be given to improve students' ability to calculate the area and perimeter of data shapes. Parents' support and participation should also be increased through open communication between schools and parents. This study provides a deeper understanding of the results of learning mathematics for grade 5 students in learning flat shapes. This information can be used by teachers and schools to evaluate and improve mathematics teaching and improve student learning outcomes in the future.

Abstract

In the subject of integer addition operations in mathematics, there are students who still do not understand students’ mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study was to analyze students’ understanding of the mathematical concepts of integer addition and arithmetic operations using media repair. This research uses Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which seeks and reviews several papers and then draws conclusions. The literature search consisted of 15 papers including the analysis stage of the last 5 years. Articles sourced from accredited Cinta journals, national and non-accredited journals. The results showed that the use of vertical lines media significantly increased students’ understanding of mathematical concepts in learning addition of integers. This media helps students visualize the process of adding integers and understand the concept of positive-negative numbers related to the number line. In addition, the use of vertical lines helps improve students’ mathematical abilities, such as understanding addition operations, recognizing patterns, and using addition results.

Abstract

Through an evaluation of 10 papers and one lesson plan for grade 4, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning mathematics using a realistic mathematics approach (PMR). This study combines a kind of literature study with a qualitative methodology. Data collection, including reading appropriate publications and lesson plans, can be carried out to determine the efficacy of a practical mathematics approach. The Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) is a great method for teaching and understanding mathematics which is very good for students. The focus of this approach is realistic concepts through relevant examples and questions and connecting them with real life which is expected for students to be able to master the material.

Abstract

This study examined how well fourth-grade children understood the concepts related to the integer material taught to elementary school students. A descriptive study employing a concept understanding test instrument was used as the research methodology. Three pupils in grade 4 mad e up the study sample. Data was gathered using a written test that was given to the pupils and covered basic school-level topics on integers. The analysis's findings indicate that many pupils struggle to comprehend the idea of integers, particularly the concepts of positive and negative numbers as well as integer multiplication and division operations. Ineffective teaching strategies, a lack of practice, and individual student characteristics like curiosity and willingness to study are all factors that hinder student comprehension. In order to improve students' comprehension of integer concepts, teachers can devise engaging, engaging, and active learning strategies. They can also provide students with more intensive practice and enrichment of pertinent material, pay attention to individual student factors, and promote positive learning interest and motivation. This study offers guidance to primary school instructors and administrators on how to improve their students' comprehension of integer concepts. Additionally, this study can serve as a springboard for future studies aimed at creating more efficient learning methods for complicated mathematical materials.

Abstract

Every child should start learning math in elementary school so they can develop the skills necessary to analyze data, perform critical analysis, write creatively, and work together. A student must have these skills to use information. Here, we conduct research as an initial responder to the challenge problems of grade IV students. Utilize descriptive writing methodology. The purpose of this study was to identify hit-and-miss learning problems in public schools. This is a lot. There are several reasons why hitching operations need to be done short and light work, some of which are listed below: 1) Difficulties related to pendular observation Addition 2 Carefully in subtraction protocols using borrowing techniques, 3) Ability to understand literary tropes and ability to apply mathematics. mathematical equations.

Abstract

This study aims to identify students' mistakes in answering questions about the mathematical concept of flat shapes at the elementary school level. The background of this research is based on the important role of understanding mathematical concepts in learning and the importance of overcoming student mistakes to improve learning outcomes. The research instrument used was a written test containing several questions about the concept of flat shapes that had been compiled and validated by experts in mathematics education. The data collected from this test is then analyzed using statistical methods to identify patterns of errors that are often made by students. The results showed that most students experienced errors in understanding the concept of plane shapes, especially in recognizing the geometric properties of plane shapes and calculating their area and perimeter. Some common mistakes include incorrectly identifying the number of sides and angles in certain planes, mistakes in using the area and perimeter calculation formulas, and difficulties in understanding the relationship between different planes. This finding shows the important role of educators in understanding students' mistakes and developing appropriate teaching strategies to help students improve their understanding of the mathematical concept of flat shapes. The implications of the results of this study can be used as a basis for developing learning programs that are more effective in increasing students' understanding of mistakes in answering questions in understanding elementary school mathematics concepts regarding flat shapes.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to find out or describe the results of the analysis of open materials for Class V, whether they meet the requirements or characteristics of Class V students. The method we use is quantitative research. This study discusses the importance of teaching materials used in 5SD class. The mathematics teaching materials used in elementary school grade V are the book published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the Revised Edition of 2018 "Happy to Learn Mathematics". From our analysis, it was found that the material contained in the book was in accordance with the mapping of the material in class V. In general, the material presented was more about finding the concepts learned by students, not finding the application of concepts.

Abstract

This study attempts to discover whether primary school students who are learning mathematics can solve issues involving distance, time, and speed and comprehend the solution, also whether there are any difficulties they encounter. Quantitative Descriptive research is this kind of study. This study aims to test students' knowledge of speed, distance, and time. It also conducts an interview with the instructor. Analyzing, interviews, tests, and documentation are among the ways used to acquire data. As for the descriptive methodology used in this study. The results of the student workmanship test were used to gather information about the challenges students encountered when solving math problems involving distance, time, and speed. The test's difficulty was a sign of students' lack of comprehension of the concepts of distance, time, and speed. Regarding the requirements for teacher interviews. The goal of interviewing teachers is to understand more about mathematics learning activities including distance, time, and speed as well as common errors made by pupils while attempting to solve problems using these concepts. According to the study's findings, arithmetic proficiency in the areas of time, distance, and speed in grade 5 SD is 80.06% in average, placing it in the "Very High" category. This problem arises dute to the basic mathematical abilities in the areas of distance, time, and speed have not yet been attained. Factors that lead to mistakes when working on test questions, internal factors, and external variables are some of the elements that make it difficult to master mathematics in the subject of distance, time, and speed. The requirement for specialised instruction as enrichment and healing (remedial), employing inventive and creative teaching methods, and developing conditioning (reinforcement, rewards, encouragement), exercises, are all recommendations for resolving the issue of learning challenges in distance, time, and speed.
