Abstract

Abstract Background. The attitude and belief of groom and bride candidates on exclusive breastfeeding were still low. Objective. This study aimed at examining the effect of exclusive breastfeeding module on the attitude and belief of groom and bride candidates at Tarakan City. Method. This study applied quantitative approach with pre-test post-test. The subjects of this research were groom and bride candidates who attended pre-marriage counseling at Ministry of Religion office of Tarakan City where the number of sample were 100 respondents. The distribution of exclusive breastfeeding module was done after pre-test to measure the groom and bride candidates’ attitude towards exclusive breastfeeding. The data analysis was done using T-test of Paired Samples Test. Findings. The characteristics of male respondents in Module Reading group were generally aged from 25 to 30 years old (52%) and those who belonged to Lecture Listening group were generally aged from 20 to 24 years old and 25 to 30 years old (32% and 32%). Female respondents in Module Reading group and Lecture Listening group were generally aged from 25 to 29 years old (40%) and 20 to 24 years old (56%). The attitude and belief of the male respondents in all groups after intervention were, in general, statistically meaningful to the value of p<0.05. The attitude of female respondents in module reading group was not meaningful while the belief of female respondents in Lecture Listening group was also not meaningful. Conclusion Health Education can improve the attitude and belief of male respondents on exclusive breastfeeding while the attitude and belief of female respondents in all groups were different from the male respondents’ after the intervention. It is suggested that exclusive breastfeeding materials are given to groom and bride candidates. Key words: Attitude and Belief, Groom and Bride Candidates, Exclusive Breastfeeding

Abstract

This study examines innovation in online birth certificate services as part of population administration reform implemented by the Department of Population and Civil Registration of Wajo Regency, Indonesia. The research aims to analyze the form of service innovation, its implementation process, and the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing its effectiveness. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants include key officials, service operators, and community members who utilize online birth certificate services. The analysis is guided by Rogers’ innovation attributes framework, which includes relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability. The findings reveal that online birth certificate services provide significant benefits in terms of efficiency, accessibility, transparency, and time effectiveness compared to conventional services. The innovation enables citizens to submit applications remotely, reduces administrative costs, and minimizes face-to-face interactions. However, several challenges remain. Supporting factors include strong government commitment, leadership support, adequate regulatory frameworks, inter-agency collaboration, and improving digital infrastructure. Conversely, inhibiting factors consist of limited public awareness, low digital literacy among some community members, insufficient human resources, budget constraints, and uneven internet connectivity. Cultural habits and limited socialization efforts also affect the adoption of online services. Overall, the study concludes that online birth certificate service innovation has positively contributed to improving public service quality, although its sustainability depends on continuous capacity building, infrastructure enhancement, and intensive public outreach. The findings provide practical implications for local governments seeking to strengthen digital-based public service delivery in population administration.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of adding sago fiber as an environmentally friendly additive on the physical properties of mortar, namely density, porosity, water absorption, and compressive strength. The study was conducted experimentally in the laboratory with variations of normal mortar and the addition of sago fiber of 2%, 4%, and 10%. Cubic test specimens measuring 5 × 5 × 5 cm were tested at the age of 28 days for density, porosity, water absorption, humidity and temperature, and compressive strength. The test results showed that the addition of sago fiber caused a decrease in the value of the density and compressive strength of the mortar, while the porosity and water absorption values increased. The highest density value was obtained in normal mortar at 2.09 gr/cm³ and a compressive strength of 21.33 MPa. Meanwhile, with a variation of 10% sago fiber, the density decreased to 1.53 gr/cm³ and the compressive strength only reached 3.22 MPa. Environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity also affect the compressive strength of mortar. This study concluded that sago fiber can be used as an environmentally friendly additive in mortar, but its use should be limited to maintain the material's structural performance.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a serious medical condition that can lead to various health complications and can be significantly prevented through regular blood pressure monitoring. The monthly trend of hypertension in the five districts with the highest number of hypertension cases in Kolaka Regency prompted researchers to conduct a study on the analysis of the relationship between susceptibility and seriousness of hypertension control measures and compliance with routine health checks (blood pressure checks). Method: The type of research used is quantitative research with an analytical observation method and a Partial Least Squares (PLS) research design. The population was 570 people and the sample was 235 people using Sampling (area sampling) in the sampling. Result: The vulnerability is 0.326 (positive direction), the T statistic is 3.655, and the p-value is 0.000. The severity is -0.672 (negative direction), the T statistic is 5.189, and the p-value is 0.000. The test results show that the p-value is <0.05. Conclusion: Vulnerability and seriousness are related to hypertension control measures with compliance with routine health checks (blood pressure checks).
